This hotel is in an excellent location, within walking distance of Gare de Lyon Train Station and the Metro, close to a McDonald's (if that's your preference), and almost directly across the street from a small grocery store with essentials. The hotel is centrally located to Notre Dame, The Eiffel Tower, and the Père Lachaise Cemetery. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. The beds were extremely comfortable - the best night's sleep I've ever had in a hotel. The rooms were very stylish and looked exactly as they did in the ad. Almost all the staff spoke English very well. They were friendly and helpful. The hotel sells water, sodas and Heineken beer in their soda machine, as well as champagne. We booked our stay approx. 10-12 weeks in advance and got a terrific deal. Also, the room was a very nice size, especially for a European city. I would definitely stay here again.
The toilet is in a small, separate room, but the door has a gap (by design) which could make some guests uncomfortable. Same situation with the shower. The shower stall was a nice size and extremely clean but if you take an "America shower", water can leak between the door and the wall, creating a mess. As we got more familiar with it, we learned to reduce the water pressure to prevent so much water leaking. All in all, it was workable. Also, the bathroom had almost no area to put makeup, etc. but it did have an excellent hair dryer. All in all, everything was workable for us but some people might prefer more counter space. Also, one day a small blanket and eye shield I brought for the trip was suddenly missing. We never knew what happened (did it get tossed in with the wash?), but the hotel manager bought us a new one, which was a very nice guesture. The hotel handled this issue gracefully and the best they could, I felt. Even with that happening, I would still stay here again.
