Auberge La Fontaine Aux Bretons  

This hotel has a very calm and relaxed but efficient atmosphere, and is beautifully situated overlooking the Atlantic but with the countryside around, and not far from the cafes and shops we needed. We loved the coastal walk which runs alongside the hotel grounds. The hotel room we chose had a small and useful kitchen area which the cleaning staff left undisturbed except for emptying the rubbish bin. This worked well for us although we enjoyed the menu in the restaurant; do ask to see their menu du marche on week nights as it provides excellent value but needed to be requested

The open wooden stairs up to the small mezzanine floor where the double bed was located are very narrow and do not have a well placed handrail so we would not recommend this arrangement for everyone.

We just used the hotel for a stopover on the way to St Malo, but we would have liked to have been able to stay for a few more days to try out the swimming pool and cycle paths. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the garden with a view of the sea in the distance. The garden is huge, with trained fruit trees and the vegetables used in the restaurant, and at the moment there is an interesting exhibition of amusing metal sculptures. You can walk to the coastal path through their own vineyard. They sell the wine they make from it in the restaurant, and though it's rather expensive it's worth trying a glass. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant and it was possible to book a table when we arrived at the hotel at 5pm.. Previous reviewers have said that the meals are rather expensive, but they may not have seen the menu of the day for 19 Euros which it's easy to miss.

we stayed in one of the apartments down stairs and it was a bit noisy when upstairs flushed the toilet.

Reception and dining room. Good breakfast Staff were lovely! Great walks along the coastal path.

Guests should be aware that there are no taxis available to or from Pornic in the evenings. The 2 bedroomed apartment was basic, bedrooms very small even for the average person,but beds were comfortable.

Perfect location close to the coast line, nice surroundings, and good comfortable clean rooms.

The restaurant was rated with 2 Spoon and Fork by the Michelin Guide of 2012, however the quality level and preperation of the food is Good however not up to the rated level by Michelin.

This hotel is quite unique I that it seems to be a local attraction for its array of animals, gardens both floral and herbal. The on site restaurant is used by guests and locals which is testament to how good it is.This is a rare hotel with an old world charm. We stayed for two nights, ate in the rsetaurant both nights. We had a sea view room with part self catering. Were able to do the coastal walk to Pornic with our dog, about 2 hours each way. We enjoyed our stay here would stay again without hesitation.

The room was although quaint not really to the standard of the rest of the hotel and a bit dusty. We overlooked this as the setting was so nice.

L'auberge est magnifique avec son jardin potager, ses animaux de la ferme. La chambre est confortable et traditionnelle. L'accueil est chaleureux et le restaurant excellent, avec un personnel aux petits soins. A recommander.

Prix un peu élevés au restaurant.

Tout ! le restaurant, l'hebergement, le jardin, la nature, les oiseaux, la mer... et plus particulièrement le professionnalisme, le sourire, la gentillesse de toute l'équipe. Cela fait plaisir ! On a simplement envie de revenir pour passer quelques jours très agréables

Le calme et la proximité de la plage, le cadre magnifique : un havre de paix.

La réceptionniste incompétente car absence de papier toilette dans la chambre à l arrivée. Malgré notre signalement la réceptionniste ne s en est pas occupé, nous avons ete obliges de le resignaler aux serveuses.

Accueil très agréable, cadre et décoration magnifiques.Bonne literie.

L'équipement des petits appartements est basique (table bancale et vraiment minuscule pour 4 personnes). Les prix du petit déjeuner et des dîners sont vraiment exagérés.

L'acceuil, la situation.

Salle d'eau très petite. Décor de chambre un peu hostère, sombre. La sonorité d'une chambre à l'autre.

Un site exceptionnel avec un très bon restaurant ou l'on sert les légumes du jardin les volaille de la basse cour etc... Accueil chaleureux avec béaucoup de sourires .

bonjour, côté personnel, l'acceuil, la discrétion, l'écoute, l'amabilité. côté logement, très jolies chambres/studios, calmes, et confortable. côté environnement, très calme, reposant, endroit bien choisi.

L’accueil, la grande chambre, le petit déjeuner, le cadre...

Le couloir qui mène aux chambres, l'hôtel devrait y mettre un tapis pour les bruits de pas et de valise.

Le confort et la vue sur mer, la petit déjeuner buffet, royal!

La fraicheur dans les toilettes, et le manque d'insonnorisation dans les chambres, on entendait les voisins parler, pas très agréable. Dommage.

Accueil parfait. Les appartements en duplex sont vraiment merveilleux. Bon restaurant. Je reviendrai.

La qualité de l’hôtel, du personnel, de la restauration. La chambre spacieuse et la vue sur la mer. La magnifique ballade sur le sentier des pêcheries accessible à pied depuis l’hôtel.

Le manque de soleil peut-être ... sinon rien!

le personnel est très accueillant et d'une politesse tellement rare de nos jours que cela nous a troublé! on se sentait important! le domaine est très beau. Le restaurant est magnifique et la nourriture est très bonne. service impeccable également.

le seul point négatif c'est le manque d'insonorisation entre les chambres. elles sont communicantes du coup on entend le voisin se moucher...et ceux du dessus marcher et crier. mais à partir de 21h il n'y a plus de bruit donc cela est moins genant.
