Very friendly, helpful staff. Modern, stylish decor in bedroom. Great bed linen and comfy bed Efficient free wi fi
No central heating....effective plug in heater, but would have been no good with a child. VERY poor sound-proofing...could hear every murmur /movement in neighbouring rooms and it sounded like the lift doors were opening actually inside our bedroom!
I would expect at least a second chair in the room.
I remember this as a very agreeable but rather run-down hotel some years ago, but now it's had a complete makeover and the rooms are excellent. It's in a side street and very quiet for a city location.
Only problem: they STILL haven't finished the ground floor, so chaotic foyer and no breakfast room. Another reviewer mentioned this 2 months ago!
Each room has been refurbished and each one is different. Lovely choice of second-hand furnishings (light fixtures, furniture). Comfy bed linens, beautiful colors. A huge improvement!
Price has increased considerably.
Close to city center, nice staff. Simple and clean rooms (after reconstruction). Reconstruction works in reasonable times.
So very kind people for the staff. Very very clean & peaceful. i will come back!!!!
The fact that with the works that are made now , it was not yet possible to have breakfast in the hotel. When all transformations will be finished, it will be great!!!
Great Shower w/"rain" type head Great Bed/Bedding- down comforter Free Wi-Fi Friendly Staff-English Speaking Near the Metro- 7 Line Near many cafes and boulangeries Charming and VERY French with flower boxes on the windows and cobblestone streets outside.
It's currently under construction so the lobby (as of October 2014) is a mess, but the rooms (I peeked in a couple of them while walking by) are decorated fashionably and comfortably. It's an old building, so the elevator is tiny, but that is typical of a french hotel. If you've never been to Paris, you are probably going to have to adjust your expectations unless you are willing to spend most of your budget on accommodations.
Room and bathroom: comfortable, just renovated, good size, nicely decorated and clean
Chance to experience a different quarter for me. Metro very close. Double-paned windows, calm street below. Recently refurbished (lobby redo in progress due to delays). Lovely, helpful owner.
The area wasn't of much interest to me. Had to make lots of metro transfers or walk far to get to the parts of Paris that I wanted to revisit, but this is personal. Hallways small and noise carries. Guests returning at late hours need to be aware that they should wait to shout until they get inside their rooms. It's the street noise that usually is a nuisance. My previous Parisian hotel was close to a sports bar with loud patrons until the early morning. Here noise came from conversations in the hallway.
The lobby was still in a mess but the rooms are freshly renovated.
Breakfast in the cooperating café is a joke – not worth the money at all.
Staff were very accommodating, both considerate and polite. Location was great, near to the bustling inner city by metro but with a quiet feel about the actual location of the hotel. The rooms were large and spacious, with everything we needed and a lovely view, and plenty of middle class/yummy mummy homewares to make the room feel like a John Lewis catalogue (whether that's good or bad is up to you!)
This is a big BUT. The facilities were non existent. Upon arrival, we were informed that the Lobby would be ready in around 4 months (which seemed an extremely optimistic estimate), and whilst the lift was covered in cellophane and the floor had sheets everywhere, the feel was more comparable to a building site than a functioning hotel. All in all, the room, the location and staff are all very acceptable and chic, but do not go to this hotel for at least 4 months, otherwise you will be landed, (and struggling to sleep) in a very expensive building site.
Location was very good. Price was fair. Room was clean.
Most of the hotel was a building site including the foyer, reception, 1st and 2nd floor. Dust and dirt everywhere, a big shock when we arrived. Didn't realise the extent of the renovations. Most of the staff were helpful however on our departure we had a very unpleasant episode with the girl on reception. The hotel had booked a shuttle car to take us to the airport the day before. It did not turn up and the receptionist was extremely rude and refused to explain to us what had happened with the car. We ended up having to book a private taxi to Beauvais and paid €170. We almost missed our flight This was a real let down. The receptionists attitude and rudeness spoiled our holiday and we would not recommend this hotel to anybody.
Great location and only a minutes walk to the metro. Staff spoke English really well. Room was brand new and spotlessly clean with towels and bed changed daily. Nice view from room 31. Beautifully designed rooms. Yes the lift is small but get over it... It does what a lift is meant to do!
It was being refurbished whilst we were there 13-17th Sept which wasn't too disruptive but it meant we couldn't have breakfast there. You can tell it's going to be something very special and unique when it's finished.
The hotel was well situated for buses and metro - bars and shops close by but just off a side street so quiet at night. a short bus ride to place de Italia which was a lively spot for restaurants and a shopping centre Staff were very friendly Room was newly refurbished so everything was clean and new - beds really comfortable and rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Toiletries supplied every day as well . Shower was rainfall or ordinary but they should consider a tray to hold soap and shampoo while showering Would definitely recommend les Goblins
Unfortunately refurbishment was happening so no real reception area just a desk at door and lift is tiny.
Nice building and location with plenty of coffee shops etc nearby. Metro station just up the road. The staff were lovely and very helpful. Our room had just been fully renovated so was nice and fresh with a relaxed eclectic designer feel. The en-suite bathroom was lovely and new. Reliable fast wifi. The bed was harder than i would like but I slept like a log so maybe it was perfect!
The Hotel was a building site when we arrived with no ceiling in the reception, wires hanging from the ceiling and tradesmen everywhere which was not mentioned to us when the booked (the day before!). The small garden terrace which was one of the selling points for me was being used as a builders yard so inaccessible. We were told that the work was meant to be completed in August but was running late. I think the bedrooms had literally just been finished which may explain the lack of a hairdryer or tea making facilities. As I have said the place was a bit of a building site but from what I saw I have no doubt that when it's all finished it will be a really gorgeous little boutique hotel... but in my opinion they really shouldn't have taken our booking without explaining the state of the place and I definitely shouldn't have been charged full price!
Free wifi Location good for our purpose as needed to be in Latin Quarter
This place is a building site and shouldn't be open. Wires hanging out of walls, front entrance falling down, stairs blocked with ladders lift tiny and covered with plastic sheeting. Dust and plaster everywhere. No courtyard no reception - I could go on but you should get the picture.Health and safety not heeded - workmen all over the place. Not safe in this condition, especially if you have young kids. Will probably be ok when the work is done in several months time but for now it's a death trap. Don't book !
bathroom & shower
Tiny lift and not very inviting frontage.
Excellent location.nice helping staff.
Small size rooms
Ok Staff was very frienly good location 2 min. To the Metro quiet Hotel when decorating work is finished I would stay again if Hotel is new decorated
Breakfast for (9 Euro extra to expensive no choise ) had in a other 2 Star the same for 7 Euro same year ) Hotel is under counstruction , wich is needed badly. At the moment to stay there is not so nice , as rooms are in need to be decorated
The area The access to the metro, just around the corner Perfect
Staff very helpful and friendly, quiet locality and comfortable bed (much needed for sleep after a long day), location, clean rooms and lobby, nice patio for breakfast, lobbies are narrow but quadruple room was spacious enough and overall a decent place for the cost. Mini elevator was very helpful for my parents.
Bathroom door had no lock, probably they could fix a slide bar and mounting bracket to place/adjust the hand-held shower overhead and make it more comfortable.
Good helpful staff, good location, close to metro.
Pretty basic facilities, wi-fi didn't work.
Location Fair price
Hand held shower at tap level that can be used.... very awkward showering with one hand holding the shower... no holder for it up higher.
The staff, the location, the room size and the price
Small elevator, difficult for large luggage
All the staff and owners were extremely helpful and friendly.
