I personally didn't like being on the second floor as I get a bit of vertigo, but at least it meant we didn't have any noise from anyone above. Our balcony was smaller than others and had crappy white plastic chairs rather than the wooden ones all the others had. The kitchen is fully equipped but there is nowhere to store any actual food. The apartment has a small desk but this space would be better served by a cupboard or at least some shelving for storing your food. A couple of hooks on the wall above the bath for drying swimming costumes would be handy. Seriously, that's all I can think of.
The site is clean, with ample parking and apartments are not overlooked by others. The main building has the sea view, and there are two smaller buildings behind it. It really felt like a team had sat down and really thought about what people might need on holiday. The kitchen had good quality (Brandt, Arthur Martin) appliances and was fully equipped (small oven, sink, microwave, induction hob, fridge with ice compartment, cutlery, crockery, saucepans, frying pans, lids, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, tray, dustpan & brush, washing up liquid, dishwasher tabs, bathroom soap, toilet roll, teatowels... And so it goes on. There is a lift in each building. The TV has UK channels. Including CBeebies, which was great for our 2 year old! The beds were comfortable. The bathroom was spotless and had plenty of towels and hand towels. The shower worked well. The swimming pool was simple and clean, with lockers (no need for coins, they have a code pad) for your clothes and towel. Great for freshening up after the beach too! The terrace has a fantastic view of the sea and the sunsets are something to behold. Croissants, baguettes, etc can be ordered the night before for collection from reception in the morning, which was very handy. Reception staff are very helpful and can provide money off vouchers for local places to visit. It takes about an hour to walk to Intra-Muros (old walled city) and about ten minutes to the local Carrefour Market. There are loads of leaflets in reception and a board informing you of the following day's weather and tides. It's all been thought through and I would heartily recommend this to anyone who wants to visit St Malo and have handy access to the beach.
