The hotel is in a good safe location in the Latin quartier within walking distance to many restaurants, 10 minute walk to the metro station, 20 minutes to the Pantheon. The staff is very professional and helpful. Room prices are very reasonable.
We booked a studio on the second floor. The entire room, and I mean walls, ceiling and furniture, is painted in the same dark blue-green color. Horrible. Felt like being in a black (dark blue) hole. One chair in the bedroom fell apart when we tried to sit on it. There were silverfish crawling on the bathroom floor during the night.
Good location: close to metro (Censier-Daubenton), quiet street, close markets with all you need. Easy system (on the reception iPad) for booking restaurants in the area. Good sized apartment.
The kitchen was not particularly well equipped. Many other places we've stayed provide tea/coffee, oil, salt/pepper, sometimes herbs - often left by previous guests. The coffee machine provided required purchase of filters. Also, there weren't many plates/cups, so we were constantly washing up. There was no plug in our bathtub, which made bathing our little one difficult (they did find us one eventually).
Spacious apartment for 5 adults with 2 bathrooms. Lovely court out back and charming grade school across the street. Convenient to marketing and restaurants on Rue Mouffetard. Close to Metro. Pleasant staff.
Would really have liked to have had a coffee maker
The Villa Daubenton is in a good location.away for the main stretch. It is the French side of Paris. The facilities are good, well stocked kitchen with essential utilities. The place is clean, lots of blue, funky decor with stars on the ceilings.
On the negative side, the promo pictures did no show a sofa bed, but it was top quality. Poor lighting (low level) for working not helped by missing bulbs. There is only one mirror in the bathroom, needs more mirrors.
sofa bed is not very comfortable
Location and facilities
We found the staff very friendly and helpful. It was only a couple of minutes walk to the nearest metro station and we could get everywhere in Paris within 15 minutes despite there being a few closures on the metro due to construction. Found the neighbourhood very quiet and safe...
Unit 203 which we stayed in could use an updating of the paint color. There were only a few small markets in the general area where you could buy some food and/or supplies.
The area is relative safe compared to other area in Paris.
The apartment is totally different from the pictures shown in the web. Whole apartment is colored in dark blue which always need light on. It smells seems like renovated.
Great rooms, great location.
Windows don't fit so lots of road noise.
We booked the two bedroom apartment, it was quite big set on two floors with two bathrooms. we had plenty of space for 5 adults and one child. The WiFi worked well. The daily cleaning we also great. receptionist was very friendly and explained all the tourist want to know info. I will defiantly come back again when in paris.
I was mislead by the pictures, the hotel looked like it has nice furnitures and well kept. However in reality it is not, disappointed because it was suppose to be a treat for my daughter's birthday to stay in a nice looking place. So if you are after a super basic place, clean enough that's walking distance to metro stations then sure it is ok.
The helpfulness and politeness of the staff. The nearby area with cafes and boutique shops if you like that sort of thing.
What I hated about this hotel was the decor! The pictures of the rooms online are TOTALLY misleading! I highly advise the hotel to show the real rooms of the hotel so as not to upset guests expectations! We were put in a horrid blue room with extremely dim lighting that was depressing to say the least. The kitchen was tiny and not what we expected from the pictures we saw. The price we paid was extremely high for what the place is. Not to mention being asked to pay 40 Euros because we didn't clean our dishes (which we did). I honestly would not recommend this place to anyone.
Would like more light in the living room, especially for reading opposite the couch by the chairs.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable.
A bit pricey for one night
Lovely staff & good location near Rue Mouffetard.
Say apartment for 4 adults but the only bathroom opened into the bedroom meaning the adults sleeping in the lounge had to come right into the bedroom around the bed to use the toilet and bathroom.
Decent value for Paris Off the beaten path Easy access (5 min walk) to Metro Staff very friendly and willing to help
Apartment dark-combination of walls and ceiling painted dark blue and dark brown wooden floors not the best choice, could be lighter and more cheery
Large room, friendly staff.
Noise from builders early monday morning, but that won't be there once renovations complete. It was a hotel room, and no balcony. It was very nice, but we booked an apartment and would have preferred an apartment and a balcony.
Excellent staff in the morning!pleasant and helpful
New units with A/C and all you need. All new. Good quality and super confortable. Great location and all you need to spend a week.
You could hear the neighbor's kid running around on the top apartment. But other then that all was great.
The appartment was clean, the matresses were very comfortable.
The ligths inside the appartment are very weak. Along with the dark blue of the walls, it becomes very dark during the evening.
Staff, facilities, interior
Wifi connection problem.
The location was great: near metro, RER and a nice local area with market. The beds were extremely comfy. Shower worked fine. Provision of towels good. Staff were really helpful and let us check in early. I would recommend this place for a family with older kids.
wi-fi is poor
Location was excellent for shopping, markets, transport. Staff very friendly. I recommend Villa Daubenton to anyone who wants a clean, nice, friendly place to stay in a relatively safe area of Paris.
Size of apartment, cleanliness and location all spot on!
Lack of wi-fi and no welcome pack of good which I would expect from an apartment in this price bracket.
