We had a lovely time. We wish there were staff who speak English at least to find out what time the daily mass. We had the greatest difficulty on Mercy Sunday to find the mass schedule what time the masses and where it is going to be? Even the Nuns cannot understand English. We were taken totally surprised there were not special celebration at Lourdes for Mercy Sunday like other churches around the world for Catholics. Cathedral was completely open for regular visitors that’s it. Suggestion at least outside the CATHEDRAL on both front entrances to have the weekly mass schedule plus where it is going to be listed in all common languages. French, English, Spanish, Tamil, German & Portugal. The tourists who are visiting the shrine will appreciate it so much. We spend more than half hour asking five people including two nuns each one was giving us a different answer. This is not a complaint. A suggestion for convenience for tourists. Finally we left. We got up early that morning by 8:45 a.m. we were at the Shrine. Finally we prayed and left. We spent our entire Saturday 4/6/2024 at the Shrine had a lovely time. Able to attend for two masses inside the Cathedral.

No bus seen.
No bus seen. If you don't mind walking you will love Lourdes.
Shops close early as do places to eat. I was told that more eating places in the City Centre. Everyone friendly.
You don't have to pay to visit the grotto. Did see a mini train that took you round the city. If we had time we would have boarded the train. We tended to walk everyway. Peaceful, tranquil.

We used Lourdes as a base to stay while we were in the region for a cycling holiday. its a perfect location to base yourself for such a holiday as there is easy access to a lot of the iconic climbs in the Pyrenees. we found access to restaurants very easy and plentiful. even if you are not the religious type it is still worth a trip to see the grotto and all associated with it. It is worth a trip to Lourdes but there is plenty more to see outside of it.

We love Lourdes! This was about our seventh time to visit.
We love Lourdes! This was about our seventh time to visit. Our favorite spot, of course, is the shrine. It's absolutely beautiful. The city is walkable, but getting to and from the train station and airport is not as easy. The train station isn't far away, but we don't walk as well now, in our old age.
We ate at a variety of cafes. The food at the cafes where we ate isn't great-- pilgrims will eat and usually not worry about the food, so most cafes seem to offer just the basics. The most enjoyable ones for us are the ones on the main route to the shrine, but uptown a little away from the main stream of tourists, because we like to sit over our coffee and cokes and relax. We like those ones the best. We are not there for the food, so we haven't really tried anything beyond the quick and easy cafes.
Aside from walking around every inch of the shrine, we love going up to the Pic du Jer on the funicular, and going to the market in town. An absolute best place to shop is with the Poor Clares, 78 Rue de la Grotte. They have a little shop with an eclectic mix of bits and bobs. This is a can't miss stop for me. I also love the antiques shops: Antiquitees Brocantes, 10 Rue Baron Duprat is a favorite.
Next time, because we're older, we'll choose a hotel just a bit closer to the shrine.

A wonderful and spiritual experience and a must for all Christians no matter how strong your beliefs are. You will find peace and guidance. If you have despair you will find hope, your sadness will turn to joy and any darkness will be turned to light.
Rossy staff were AMAZING. We arrived on Monday but was holiday. The bus driver from Madrid to Tarbes told us wait at the bus stop for the bus to go to LOURDES. There was not public transportation, that day, Uber said ‘cars not available, we did not have a number to call a taxi. After two hours waiting with two kids at the bus stop. We called the hotel I spoke to Linda( who is a receptionist) I explained her everything and she called us a taxi, the driver called us and we set up The pick up. I am very thankful.
Staff were very friendly.
The hotel was also a short walk to the Grotto of Lourdes which made our pilgrimage very worthwhile.
There was also an Asian restaurant - Asian Delices, serving Filipino food which was just a few steps away from the hotel.
We visited Lourdes in mid Novemver which is the off-season for tourists so we could spend more time at the Grotto praying. The disadvantage was almost all shops and even hotels were closed so not much choices for outside eating or shopping.
The owners were friendly, helpful & very professional. I was travelling with elderly parents and requested for rooms to be close together, the owners were accommodating, making my parents feel very comfortable. The rooms were clean and the beds very comfortable after a long day of travelling. The breakfast was perfect to start the day. The hotel is close to the Shrine. I recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here next time I am in Lourdes. Thank you for your kindness.
It was a great location, very close to the Grotto. The room was lovely, it has everything you need and we were very lucky that our room had a beautiful view. The staff were excellent, we had an issue with the sink and they came and sorted it straight away. We had breakfast in the Hotel and it was very nice, they had a great selection, we also had a delicious meal on one of the nights. I will definitely return to this Hotel if staying in Lourdes again.
The hotel has best location as it is right at the gate of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes. We got a room with view of the cathedral on request. Which was exceptional and exceeded my expectations. The room and bathroom are spacious and clean. The breakfast was good too. The staff is super friendly and helpful. They went out of the way to find a stroller for my 4 year old. I am definitely going again to Lourdes and will stay in the same hotel.
Location is excellent, 5 mins to Sanctuary/Grotto. Lots of shops, cafes, restaurants nearby, but in February most of cafes and restaurants were closed; others stop serving food before 5pm and there is nothing to eat till 7 pm. Hotel is clean, staff kind; Andriy was very helpful, kind and professional, gave me all information I needed. By the way, if you are flying to Lourdes; Airport shuttle bus takes you directly to the hotel; no need for taxi!
The hotel is very close to the Lourdes sanctuary, just a short 10-minute walk away, and it's even closer to the Lourdes railway station. You'll find many restaurants and shops nearby. The owner is exceptionally friendly, nice, and always ready to help. The price for the facilities offered was quite reasonable. Plus, the view from the room's window, with the fort and mountains, was truly breathtaking.
The staff were uniformly absolutely excellent. Super-polite but also helpful and welcoming, I was amazed. The hotel's in a great location, on the river, but on the town side of Lourdes (better for restaurants). My "Superior" room was large, quiet, had a nice view and was comfortable. Just what I needed. The internet was super-fast too. I liked having a fridge and kettle, I made good use of both.
Location — is a short walk to the Sanctuary. We were checked IN as we arrived at 12noon, 3pm is the usual check-in time. The balcony with the river view and the belfry is priceless. A few steps to a Gelato place. The most needed buffet breakfast is really mouth watering and enjoyable.
Hotel personnel are truly helpful of our needs.
The location is perfect for visiting Lourdes. The staff are very kind and helpful. Pierre was exceptionally pleasant and helpful. Nearby parking is easy. I highly recommend Hotel Padoué for anyone visiting Lourdes! It’s a one block walk to the entrance of the Our Lady of Lourdes site.
Perfect stay in Lourdes. Very friendly and helpful staff. My motorbike broke down outside the hotel - the owner even gave me an hour of his time and helped me fix it. They also allowed me to use the hotel after checkout time. Thank you so much!
Loved our stay at the Belfry & Spa, in Lourdes. The service was impeccable and the rooms were very comfortable! The hotel staff promptly arranged massage appointments for us and we were delighted with the services!
honestly....The rooms were clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. They went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting lourdes.
The place was run by the wonderful Frederique! She warmly greeted us upon arrival and gave us a helpful information about the hotel. Then the very next morning made us a very filling breakfast.
