Located a 10-minute walk from the cathedral, the ibis Chartres Centre Cathedrale includes a 24-hour front desk, an Italian restaurant and a bar.
Score from 579 reviews Very good
not agreat choice in the restaurant. mostly desserts which were not really wanted. A starter buffet is much better.
A clean, new and impressive hotel with large comfortable rooms
Being asked to pay between 1.00 and 2,50 euro for each tea bag to enjoy an extra cup of tea in our room
Larger than usual room. Kettle, milk, tea and coffee in room, plus biscuits. Great shower with side jets, rain head and hand held one. Nice toiletries. Quiet location. Locked car park. Good restaurant food, especially the dessert counter, which is a buffet and has a huge selection. This is my second stay.
Sullen waitress in restaurant. She made no effort to smile, look at customers, and got the order for an adjacent table wrong, despite their trying to speak French. Very short too tight skirt and bare blue legs, if Management want to identify her. Reception staff were pleasant and speak English.
A modern clean hotel with friendly young staff. Excellent location in the countryside just on the edge of Chartres. Good value stopover.
Good comfortable bed
Wi-Fi was a waste of time.
Big bathroom with lovely shower Decent pillows Dark, quiet room Plenty of room for travel cot, provided by hotel and had a really good mattress for baby
Would have liked two tea bags of normal tea instead of one normal and one chamomile
Free parking, easy to find location. Fair price. Free WiFi. Decent rate. Room was a good size and clean.
It is quite far from centre town. We always had to take the car to get anywhere. The instructions we received from the desk employees were terrible. We could never find the location we wanted to get to based on their directions, even with the map. The bed should include a top sheet and not just the duvet. We spent the night sleeping on top of the duvet because it was too hot sleeping under it. We had the AC cranked up. The room was so hot.
Brand new hotel, terrific shower, great location for Chartexpo.
To summarise the situation- I made a booking via booking.com for 7 rooms at this hotel, and my group arrived very late and very tired after a long journey. Unfortunately on arrival the inexperienced night receptionist had given one of these rooms to another customer with a similar last name to Mr Jay, Mr. Jun. In theory, this should have been easily rectified, but due to the inexperienced member of staff instead it took an hour of standing in the reception at 02.30am until 03.30am with no resolution. The last resort was calling every hotel in the area to see if there was any availability- both the Campanile and Ibis Budget was full, and the only nearby hotel with availability was the Novotel. Assuming that Kyriad would not want one of their paying customers left on the street, after an error that was completely the fault of the hotel I headed to the Novotel to check in at 4am, and after very little rest, returned to the Kyriad to speak to the manager, who I was assured would be available at 10am this morning. Immediately I was met with no manager and 2 very rude members of staff at reception, Clement and Fanny who refused to admit any liability whatsoever. Unknown to both of these members of staff and another member of staff called Cynthia, both myself and my colleague speak French so could understand everything that they were saying about me- kind and not so kind. It seems that the policy of Louvre hotel group is that no-one of any seniority is available at weekends to discuss the matter, so I can't even begin to imagine the scenario had the problem been more urgent or serious. Initially, my only request was that I did not get charged for the room that was incorrectly allocated to someone not in our group, and that as a gesture of goodwill, Kyriad would also refund the cost of the Novotel room I was forced to pay for.
1) nice personnel 2) good service
1) The water drain in shower was too slow, leaving not much time for a decent shower. Experienced this issue before here. 2) The main corridor and rooms weren't aired fully, making the air in them quite dry and a bit dusty.
Good location with plenty of private car parking, and only 5 mins drive to Chartres town centre. Friendly staff, very clean and superb shower.
Bed was uncomfortable.
- Nice staff - Very good rooms - Very clean - Near to city - Water boiler available - Spacious bathroom
- Toilet seat came off the toilet, quite uncomfortable (if you are slipping around on the toilet)! - nothing else :)
Nice enough hotel for overnighter. Staff extremely helpful.
On the outskirts of town and restaurant isn't open at weekends. Beer is bloody expensive at €7.90 a pint????
Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Enjoyed tea/coffee making facilities. Toiletries were lovely. Breakfast was very good quality.
Shower High toilet Kettle in room
Basic rooms Really low beds Breakfast Service No restaurant
Nothing positive to say
Broken toilet seat. As we were staying only 1 night I couldn't be bothered to report it to reception. I mentioned it when checking out next morning. The receptionist said it wasn't broken, there was just something wrong with the holding brackets (the seat had to be lifted off the floor to use the toilet) so he knew about it but had still not done anything about it. The next problem was taking a shower which after a few minutes I was standing in 2 inches of water
Easy to find. Plenty of parking. Good breakfast
Disappointed that restaurant not open on Sat., Sun. Had to take chances in the city centre!
shower extra pillow
Location Comfort Cleanliness Parking
THe hotel is new, clean, the room was comfortable, staff OK Our little child slept in a baby coat for free. Cheap.
Almost perfect... it was not possible to close perfectly the bathroom door, since it was damaged.
Our room was very comfortable, with a large bed, TV and coffe/tea making facilities. The ensuite had a WC, washbasin and multi-shower. Everything was very clean and well maintained. The hotel is in a quiet location only a couple of miles from the lovely centre of Chartres.
The restaurant was closed (except for breakfast) for the whole of August!
The car park was free and the hotel was easy to find. Good choice of things to eat for breakfast and I liked the fresh fruit, ham and cheese all good for a coeliac. I like a toaster so that I can put in my toastie bags with slices of gluten free bread and they do not get contaminated with non GF bread crumbs.
There were no boiled eggs at breakfast. They had all been eaten by a coach party that got to breakfast very early.
Excellent location Near to the main routes Close to the centre if needed
No evening food
Excellent value short stay hotel, receptionist on arrival somewhat curt but all other staff friendly and efficient
Restaurant unavailable for evening meals Shower tray surround somewhat black with mildew
Very pleased with all aspects, nice room, beds and bathroom.
Unfortunately the dining was closed but this was stated in the terms. Summer break.
