Facing the Mediterranean Sea and 100 ft from the beach, this hotel has large grounds and an adjoining chapel. It is 165 ft from Nice Harbour, which has ferries going directly to Corsica.
Score from 1230 reviews Good
The hotel benefits from a central yet peaceful location in the pedestrian area, about 110 yards from the sea. Hotel Solara features 14 fully-equipped and soundproofed rooms.

Located in the heart of Nice, Hotel Busby offers a warm and friendly welcome close to the pedestrian area, the casino, the beach and the famous Promenade des Anglais.
Score from 134 reviews Good
This hotel is located in the heart of Nice, only 2 minutes from Place Massena and the famous Promenade des Anglais, and a few minutes by tram from the Acropolis conference center.
Score from 396 reviews Good
Lovely shabby chic interiors. Hidden away so no noise from the traffic or people. The lady running the hotel was so helpful and charming.
The pillows. I think the hotel information should say there is no lift and plenty of stairs to climb.
Good location, just 5 minutes walk to Plaza Massena.
The building is quite old with scrapped wall and floors. There is no lift to upstairs, you should not book here if you don't have a strong partner with you. Although this hotel can save you some euros but the experience is horrible, I would suggest it to my friends.
Central location, surprisingly quiet and very friendly host
Noisy at night Wifi did not work in room
No wifi in room as promise
The location is perfect, to get to the hotel you need to enter one building and then go through the yard- which gives the understanding how nice people live. Very french style in the hotel itself. The room was very clean, nice furnished. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
wi-fi doesn`t wotk very well
Great location and nice hotel. Definitely not shabby, rather 'French rustic', really homely and pleasant.
It was difficult to get in after 6pm on the first night. I strongly recommend emailing a couple of days in advance to get the pin code. Elderly guests might struggle as there is no lift.
Uh.... Thinking... Still thinking... 200 hundred characters of thinking... Nope... Nothing!
1. Taxi driver didn't know where it was. 2. Keypad entry required for the first door at street level. Someone came out and I went in, leaving behind my wife, thinking that the reception would be near. 3. As it turns out, the reception is at the end of a military basic training PT like course! Too many flights of stairs to get to a small bridge over a courtyard and discover that a few more stairs are required to get to an other keypad door. That door had a sign on it which stated something like this; "Sorry, my name is Didier and I'm the receptionist, I'm out of the office right now. Please call the following number if you need help". Yeah, well without a phone that number wasn't useful. I backtracked through the PT course of stairs and went elsewhere. Now I owe a cancellation fee? Sorry, but if they wanted my business they would have made it simpler to check in. This was a fiasco! 4. I don't recommend Hotel Rex to anyone! 5. We tried another hotel in Nice's pedestrian section and there the number of flights of stairs went up. So we decided to find an other solution. We ended at a very nice hotel on Rue Grimaldi, Hotel Mercure.
location s great. In the center close to everything, and it's quiet at night although it's busy dining street outside. Staff are the best in helping and giving advice.
Wifi is weak
walking distance from Gare SNCF, close to Quai Anglais and the beach good and helpful staff breakfast available upon request. cheap
didn't have wifi at chambre 9,only downstairs. really thin doors -can hear everything your neibours say or even whisper.
If you like shopping location was good..,, but that's about it!!!!!
Dont even think about it!!!! There is nothing to like about this hotel itself!!! The owner is the rudest person I have ever met!!! Tge electricity doesn't work properly... More that likely you will be stranded for more than 3 hours with no power in your room after plugging in your phone charger or hair dryer... Then you will call the emergency no for help and get a response "only French no English, call tomorrow".... Tte drain In The bathroom stinks!!!! If you want stressful holidays go for it... But I wouldn't recommend!
The staff were friendly and the location was perfect. Really close to everything. The room was clean and the beds were comfy. Great for a weekend away where you dont spend much time in the room.
I think that this hotel is a bit too overpiced for what they offer. The location is great but where the hotel is isnt very pretty and it was quite noisey. I felt that the outside of the hotel was very run down and untidy. It is in the middle of a residential area when you walk up the stairs and the bedrooms dont have very good views/any views except buildings. Our room was quite noisy as it was next to reception and was very basic. The bathroom was very small and the shower easily flooded and wasnt great.
Really great location, just in the Messena Square, 2 mins walk to tram station, 5-10 mins to the sea. And the room is very nice, clean, quite, and equiped well
It is in 3rd floor with narrow, round stairs. You need to lift your luggage yourself. We lived in the very end of the corridor so the WIFI signal was really bad, we basically cann't connent in the room, have to go to the reception area.
Excellent location in the very city centre, only steps away from restaurants, cafés, shopping, public transport and tourist attractions. Nice decor with a shabby chic style.
- Pillows were flat and hard - Cleaning could have been more thorough in the bathroom - This was the second hotel room in France were the bathroom and toilet were separeated from the (rather small) bedroom only with a sliding door (i.e. wasn't possible to shut properly), which in itself wasn't much of a door, more like a wardrobe door. This doesn't allow any privacy. I don't understand why they have these doors. There was a coomon toilet in the end of the corridor, but it was rahter filthy.
a clean hotel
no bathroom but a shower in the bedroom. no private toilet. no staff in the evening, I could not check in. A note on the door indicating where I could find the room key, but the front door was locked.
Location, friendly and helpful staff.
Tiny bathroom, noisy with window open.
The building itself was lovely and the location was amazing, right in the centre of everything, yet quiet at night. Everything in the room was clean and is was decorated in a "shabby chic" old french style. The staff were also very friendly. I will definitely stay at hotel Rex again.
Not huge negative points, but the staff weren't around much to to ask any questions. Ideally when sharing a room with several friends the toilet would have a robust (non see through!) door and no open window so you can wash and toilet in privacy!
The location was amazing! Steps away from Place Massena and a few minutes walk from Old Nice. The staff was extremely welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Though in a busy square, the hotel is removed from the noisy streets and is very peaceful. The room was cute and comfortable, though quite small. For 2 of us it was a perfect place to stay!
The only downside for us was that we came from Italy by car and there's no parking at the hotel. We had to find public parking and pay for the car overnight. It's not feasible if you're staying for any length of time.
We really enjoyed our stay. Nice room, clean, comfortable bed and very good breakfast. The location is unbeatable.
Great location to explore the old Nice. Lots of eating places nearby. Lovely staff.
Bed was too hard. Inconsistent shower temperature. Can be noisy at night.
Location was central to everything in Nice
No fridge or coffee maker or a safety box
Very good location, close to the beach, restaurants, shopping area. Nice hotel staff.
Internet is not so okay for the room upstairs; for single bed room is kind of small.
I only stayed one night and paid for a single room with no shower, but was given an upgraded room at no charge.
The wifi signal was too weak to access the Internet.
Good location, good for backpackers.
The towels in the bathroom show its history as there are stains on it. The long stairs not suitable for people with heavy/large luggages.
