The staff is nice. And the breakfast is good. But maybe should add more food for breakfast.
The location is uneasy to find.
The Rex has obviously seen better days, and although shabby round the edges, in some cases really shabby, everything works (except the fridge in my room which only gave the benefit of its lightbulb) plenty of hot water in the admittedly odd ensuite, a really comfortable double bed, heating that works and can also be turned off easily, a good breakfast included in the low price of room, and a very helpful and pleasant staff. Shame its closing for a year to be resurrected in a year doubtless as a four star at four time the price.
Very poor interior. Renovation required.
The staff, especially Sam, we're nice and helpful. It's exactly a 2 star billet but it's getting ready for a one year remodel and we can hardly wait to come see the Comprador at 4 stars.
the lift its very small for one persone only.
Excellent location in the centre of Paris for small money (4 nigts/288 eur)! Stand with plenty of tourism information in the lobby. Close to Metro & walking distance to the Louvre. Elevator is working well, small size but good enough for 2 people and 2 hand luggage cases, Rooms with nice antique interior in old building. Very cosy room and bathroom, no step between them. Good breakfast with tasty strong coffee, tea, orange juice, crunchy baguette, butter, croissant, fruit jam, corn flakes, hot and cold milk.
At least one chair in the room would be advisable. View through the window to the breakfast room, but we preffered to spend all the day outside the hotel admiring Paris! We didn't successed with WiFi.
The hotel is located near a metro station and it is in the center of Paris, you can go to Louvre on foot.
Although the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was not very clean. Also, they got the smallest elevator I have ever seen. I had to ask to restart the wifi router to make it work.
The Hotel needs maintenance as the toilet kept giving water after flush and the sound was annoying They solved this problem by suggesting closing the water source after every time we used the toilet o_O The breakfast was poor The internet connection was unavailable at the first day
Perfect position, good price!
Breakfast was a bit poor but since we haven't paid too much, it was actually ok!
The hotel was a reasonable price for Paris however the room was very old, dated with mis matched furniture. The bathroom was old and gross. The bed linen was not clean (or fresh) and made us feel very uncomfortable. Dining room had peeling wall paper and looked dilapadated.
Horrible place unsure of how can this be offered as a hotel we booked for two nights at last minute and this place looked like a good option as offered one bedroom for all of us but we ran away after first night husband and I got bitten by bugs or God knows what was living on those beds, my husband ended up with numbed fingers and temperature got prescribed antibiotics, everything in that place is disgusting they don't even bother to improve, breakfast was really poor only coffe and a piece of bread and a crossaint and don't dare to ask for more cos they give you a really bad look as if you were asking for gold!
Everything from dirty stairs to tiles off in bathroom no shower only plastic hose It was an awful experience
very affordable in the center of Paris
walls are falling appart, receptionist does not speak english or any other language apart French. Breakfast very modest, without salami.
When we arrived with our confirmed booking on 18 Sept 2014 the staff - ?? their apparel did not indicate they manage the hotel AND they could not speak one word of English. I had to show them my name on their room list BUT other people occupied the room allocated to us. All we could hear as they shouted and screamed to one another was " e technical " ?? Then they left us in the street in front of the hotel !!!! We had then to walk all around to find accommodation and were eventually helped by the Hotel Breselle . They assisted us very professionally and tried their best to accommodate us in a price range BUT not even near what the Rex has been advertising. Our accommodation were 3x the price as per confirmed booking !!!! Booking.com should remove them from their list !!!!!!!
Good service mind
Wifi and location was excelent.
Dirt, dust, very poor... Not recomended.
Price and location
Very small, even 'narrow' and cheap hotel. Elevator for one peson only (very uncomfortably if you are there with your family, in the 4th floor). Poor room, dirty with some broken furnitures. Breakfast unbelievably poor. I definitely cannot recommend .
I had booked two rooms for four people but when we came there, they had just one room for two people prepared for us. But they offered us one room for four people for better price. (Small minus for the reservations mess. But maybe it was fault of booknig.com)
I didnt like the personal because many of those people were annoyed because of working. For example they are not answering for greetings. Simply - unpleasant personal. Very big minus for this!
- I paid for a room with shared toilet, but had a toilet in the room - having read negative comments on other websites, I think the hotel reserves its best rooms for booking.com - the quality of my bed and bathroom was very good - my room (16) was in a quiet spot of the hotel
- when I arrived, there were no towels in my room (but that problem was quickly repaired) - during a few hours, WIFI did not work (but when it worked, it was perfect) - I heard that the hotel will close down within the next year - the floor, doors and walls need refurbishing/painting, but if they do that I'm sure the room rate will double, so they probably should leave it as it is
I like just position
very dirty, no fridge, kettle, furniture in very bad condition, Never ever saw hotel like this...
Convenient location Wifi in room Helpful staff Refrigerator in room
Old interiors, moldy Slim-fit elevator Leaking taps
Close to the center! The staff is kind and nice except the owner! If you are looking for a cheap hotel in the center it is perfect! A great place to see the city and have a bed afterwards!
Rooms are too small. The bathroom needs some renovation! If you look out of the window you can find treasures like at least 1 year old Heineken can, a used to be white pullover, etc.
Location not too bad
Dirty, Smelly!!! no Wifi at all, smelly staff.
good location friendly staff value for money
old rooms ok beds lousy wifi
