Beautiful hotel,staff were friendly and helpful. Will defiantly go back.

Really enjoyed our stay the rooms were fairly basic but very clean the parking on the road was easy and we only had to cross the road. The manager was really helpful and recommended a truly excellent restaurant (Le Grand Blue) many thanks. We will come again great value for money.

Benoit, the hotel manager, is a really kind and helpful person. The room was tidy and nice, and the position of the hotel is perfect if you need to take a ferry. Plus, the breakfast was extremely good!

We arrived 3hrs late and Benoit was most accomodating. He likes to know your arrival time as the reception is not always manned. We did try to phone from Belgium but fell foul of the dialling code plus I had given Benoit my mobile number but my sim card just wouldn't work!!! Sorry Benoit!!! Benoit gave us several recommendations for restaurants, the nearest to us was for a fine dining experience, however it was out of our budget so we went just a little further up the road (Rue Royale) and found a lively bar called 'Au Bureau'. Coq au vin and frites cost 9 euros 80cents, it was delicious and generous. We slept really well, the bed was comfortable, and the wallpaper was most interesting! Breakfast consisted of 1 croissant and half a baguette with a selection of help yourself to cereal, yogurt, teas and jams. It was nice but a little overpriced. We used the reserved parking but you could easily park outside the hotel for free with no restrictions, don't leave any belongings on show though. Before we left France for home we wanted to stock up on tobacco etc and Benoit very kindly copied a map for us.

You need to be careful with the shower as there is no curtain and water was splashing over the floor. No extractor fan either and the tiles at the bottom of the shower tray were already suffering from mould. The exterior of the hotel doesn't look great, don't let that put you off. We had a room at the front with a balcony over looking the park, it is a very quiet street, we didn't hear any traffic noise at all. Having the balcony was great!

Warm welcome, clean, tidy room. Hotel under going work but did not affect our stay at all. Secure parking, easy walk into town. Great location. Owner very helpful and polite.

When I arrived the owners, who is doing all the restoration work himself parked my car and carried my bags to my room. This is not a 'chain' hotel ; it is individual and quirky and, yes there is work in progress but for the individual welcome, good French breakfast, perfectly clean room and good price, I liked it. It remind me of the way French hotels used to be and hopefully, Monsieur will keep working and this hotel will finished one day.

I like the friendliness of the Owner and the charming antiques that are scattered through out the property.

Proprietor is a very nice young man. Though simple,it is very nice,clean,airy,friendly hotel. The balcony view of Richelieu park is lovely.Restaurants ,the sea,banks,shops etc. all a short walk.

It has a very personal and distinctive style. The owner is very friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable.

Little to add to other reviews. It's good value and the owner is a pleasure. The hotel is facing a park and 2-3 mins walk from the excellent restaurant Ancienne Histoire.

No hooks or towel rails in bathroom.

The location is brilliant for an overnight stay after a long journey before crossing the channel back to England. We were travelling with a large trailer and we were able to have piece of mind by parking in the secure parking bay at the back of the hotel. The owner was extremly friendy and very helpful. This is a very reasonably priced hotel which is basic and clean and represents value for money.

I really like this hotel, which is undergoing restoration work at the moment, but even the older rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Although I only ever stay one night to break the journey to or from London, I would happily stay here for longer.
