Excellent location in Calais with good restaurants within 3 minutes walk and secure parking. Door code supplied for easy access anytime. Free internet access and good continental breakfast. Very reasonably priced and friendly manager who speaks English well.

The hotel has no lift and needs to be completely redecorated, although it is very clean.

A short walk from station, yet very quiet. Hotel's being refurbished, and my room was fresh and clean. The proprietor seems to do everything himself, with efficiency and helpfulness. He was happy to let me speak French to him, but his English sounded good. A kettle and cups are provided! - but bring your own teabags. Good breakfast.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The facilities are very basic though, more like an appartment. i.e. reception is very rarely staffed and there is a responsibility on the visitor to ensure they can get into the building when they first arrive. Overall, a very nice experience for the money - as long as you know what you're getting.

There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. This wouldn't normally bother me too much but it is an old style bath - which means water goes absolutely everywhere. Not a reason not to stay, but its something that would be easy to fix, and is annoying when you've got wet feet when getting to the toilet in the middle of the night!

Good location city centre and short drive to car ferry. Owner very friendly and helpful.

The owner was very pleasant. Gave us good imformation on where to visit eat things to do. The rooms are basic but very clean comfy bed. Has safe car parking at rear of hotel for 4 euros a night. It is close to town 2 minute walk. It is in the middle of renovation. The carpet up to the first floor is worn but the important thing like the room are good.The shower had plenty of hot waterand was clean. The breakfast was good value for money. Please remember your paying budget prices so if you want 5 star pay for it else where.We will be stopping here next year.

Hotel is decoration is quite tired but is undergoing restoration. Our room was comfortable and clean with a view of the Park Richelieu across the road. The en suite was spacious and newly fitted out. We were met by the owner upon arrival and provided with a welcome warming drink. The service he provided was excellent.

Benoit who runs the hotel is fantastic I just wish that the renovations had been finished before we had arrived.

Just what we wanted - ideal location in the middle of Calais but with easy on-street parking. The hotel has much more character than the typical modern corporate budget chain, and the owner was very knowledgeable and welcoming. Everywhere was spotless, and the breakfast was tasty and ample. We enjoyed a bottle of wine on the balcony overlooking the park in the spring sunshine. Altogether a very pleasant stay.

It was extremely good value for money. The beds were comfortable and spotless, we were given option of back or front of hotel. We were going to be shown two rooms so that we could choose but were quite happy with the first. We went to buy wine and wanted to stay over one night. If you want 5 star don't go here but if you want a comfortable clean room this is the place for you. Breakfast was croissants and rolls, cereals and yoghurts. The owner was very friendly and approachable.

The bath was really good and big enough for the two of us. Although the hotel needs refurbishment it is clean and fine for an overnight stay.

The hotel patron was very helpful and friendly. He tried to help me to put my trailer into his private yard at sub zero temp.

The hotel is a bit run down but the important element such as the room and bathroom is comfortable and clean. Depending on individual expectation, it is reasonable for the price. The patron is trying very hard to re-decorate the hotel as time and funds allow. So give the guy a chance.
