The Rive Gauche is in an excellent location to walk to many of Paris' best tourist sites. It was economical for a family visit to Paris. It is small and not exciting, but if you just need a place to sleep in a great location it is a good selection. Everything was small and simple, but OK. Some of the rooms are almost too small. It could be fixed up a little bit. It is a little drab, and in need of some attention.

The location is convenient to stores, restaurants, and other assets of the west bank. The church of St. Germain is right around the corner; an atm is even closer. The room I had was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The continental breakfast each day was convenient and quite adequate, right downstairs. The hosts were fluent in both English and French. (Moi, je parlais francais.) These individuals also answered my questions and did some research for me, for example, in locating LaProcure Bookstore. I appreciate their politeness and consideration. The elevator was remarkably small; I have never seen such a cramped elevator. There is room for only one person plus luggage or two people without luggage. I kid you not. However, since I travelled alone, the size of the elevator was not a problem for me; after all, it worked. A hard boiled egg at breakfast also would have been appreciated. It's not hard to cook.

It was a good little hotel, excellent value with a very nice staff in a very convenient neighborhood. It has the smallest elevator we have ever seen. Try to stay in the first or second floor, this will allow you to use the stairs and send the luggage up the elevator. You can't fit in the elevator with your luggage unless you are Stuart Little:) or Thumbelina.

Very central; a little grocery store right next door; a great street with tons of restaurants for meals just 2 blocks away; the Louvre and bus/metro very close by; if you like hoofing it, you can walk to just about every tourist attraction The desk staff were not friendly and did not make any effort to help us with info; actually totally ignored us most of the time

Location was good; bed was comfortable. Otherwise, there was very little to like. . Room was minute. Shower facility was very basic. Bathroom door would not stay closed. Wall plug in bathroom did not work (on enquiry, I was informed that none of the wallplugs in the bathrooms of the entire hotel worked)! One door of the cupboard was off its hinges. Room was unbearably hot in the afternoons. The entire building was very run down - obviously run by the owners as a money spinner without spending any money on maintenance or upkeep. This hotel should not be recommended

The booking confirmation clearly state that creditcard information was only for guarantee purposes and no deposit would be drawn. Nevertheless my Diners account was debited payment for one night by 1.May two weeks before the stay.At departure the had no notice of the prepayment ready. I had to insist that payment had taken place.SEROUSLY Bad experience.

Hotel location to main tourist spots was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly and the room was clean. Close to restaurants and a great little deli next door. For us the room was very small and the room remained dark even with the curtains open. As the window opened on to an interanal air space. I couldn't call it a courtyard as it wasn't much more than a few square metres. Bathroom door didn't close.

The only value is location. There is nothing to like except location. It is not at all a value for money and you go there only when other hotels in the area are not available. Some lovely hotels cost just a fraction more. It is ugly, dingy and depressive!!!

Good access to the Quartier Latin. Suprisingly for the price a very small room and bathroom, not very clean, The price does not reflect the hotel including the facility. I would strongly not recommed this hotel to anyone.

In the center of where we wanted to be, surrounded by good restaurants, a great jazz club, 2 blocks from the Seine or St Germain and friendly staff. Room was very small and "worn" for the price.

The location ,location, location for walking and the grocery store immediately downstairs. The bed was very comfortable and clean . We stayed in room 602. The carpet in the room was filthy however. The only thing smaller than their elevator is their toilet area . It was so small I could barely sit on it properly and I am not a big person. There is no view per se at all. Over all it really needs to be updated in all areas and I would only recommend it for a quick stopover or for young adults on an budget. 1 star at best.

The location was excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful The rooms did not have free wi-fi and you had to go to the lobby to access the free wi-fi. The room was not air conditioned and it was very hard to sleep with the windows open due to the street noise below. The shower stall needed work and was extremely small. Our room did not compare to the pictures on the hotel's website, but the location was fab, it didn't occur to us that the weather in sept, would be so hot that air conditioning would be vital, which was our mistake.

the location was good and staff were helpful and freindly i think there should have been bottled water in the room. the room needed redecorating, the bath was dirty with grime on it. the carpet was dirty with stains on it .the breakfast room was uninviting and basic. i think most people did not take breakfast there.

Location and the price. Nice Staff and clean rooms. Funny little elevator, possibility of leaving the loggage at the hotel, after check out. In the description it said there was a minibar, but that was not right.
