Le Grand Large  

The location to La Rochelle Airport, the welcome from the reception was warm and helpful. There views of the sea and beaches was excellent and the swimming pool and spar, although not used on this occasion, looked very inviting, especially on a warm day.

The restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Friendly staff, delicious local food and wine. Prices were reasonable and they stayed open quite late. Room was comfortable, beds ok, tea supplied. Bathroom was ok and toiletries/towels replaced daily. A few other restaurants were close by. The hotel was about a 10 minute easy walk from the bus stop.

Hotel a bit old and tired looking, could do with a renovation. A word of warning if catching a bus from Isle de Re to La Rochelle. Not many buses on a Sunday and the actual times do not match what is on the timetable at the stop. Our bus came about 20 minutes earlier than it should have. Lucky we were early otherwise would have missed our train connection to Paris. Rivedoux is very small and 3 days there is enough, although it is a good base to explore other towns on the island by bicycle.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful . Pool very clean and well maintained .Also very accessible to beach .We stayed last week in August . Loved sitting by Pool and no Loud music in background .We will definately make a return trip .

Ile de Re is stunning. Le Grand Large hotel is ideally located on the beach. The pool is lovely and very clean. Staff were very helpful. Food in the restaurant was very good. Rivedoux resort is ideal for a quiet, relaxing holiday if you want to get away from it all. Food/fruit/wine etc at the local shop were very cheap so ideal for picnics. We hired bicycles and travelled around the island which is absolutely beautiful. Stay in La Flotte or St. Martin for a livelier hol. Visit La Rochelle - it is a gorgeous city. Overall we had a fabulous holiday. Would definitely go back.

Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room which is usually the norm for all B&B's/hotels now.

The staff was just excellent. Serviceminded, helpful and maybe the most positive surprise for tourists in france not speaking french, all of them was willing to speak english. We'll be back

nice restaurant overlooking the sea.

one room has the jacuzzi right beside their private patio. As it seemed to be full of children even in term time, I would try and avoid that room in future. It is a shame it is not placed at the back of the pool.

Ile de Re is very pleasant with lots of beaches, and the weather is superb.

The food was good but not plentiful, and the prices equated to Paris.

staff was friendly ~ very close the the beach. The food in restaurant was nice .

But little bit far the the most beautiful place in the island.But wouldn't be a proublem when you go by car.

En raison d'une arrivée tardive nous n'avons pas su comment accéder au parking en l'absence d'accueil. Toutefois, mais nous ne l'avons pas fait, possibilité d'appeler par téléphone le gardien de nuit

Le cadre et le calme de tout l'établissement. Très bonnes prestations dans son ensemble.

Vue sur mer, un très bon accueil, la propreté générale.

Le vent qui cognai sur la baie vitrée trop fine, le bruit de la chasse d'eau qui gouttai, la climatisation qui grinçai, la terrasse inondée.
