Le Grand Large  

The restaurant at the hotel was excellent. Friendly staff, delicious local food and wine. Prices were reasonable and they stayed open quite late. Room was comfortable, beds ok, tea supplied. Bathroom was ok and toiletries/towels replaced daily. A few other restaurants were close by. The hotel was about a 10 minute easy walk from the bus stop.

Hotel a bit old and tired looking, could do with a renovation. A word of warning if catching a bus from Isle de Re to La Rochelle. Not many buses on a Sunday and the actual times do not match what is on the timetable at the stop. Our bus came about 20 minutes earlier than it should have. Lucky we were early otherwise would have missed our train connection to Paris. Rivedoux is very small and 3 days there is enough, although it is a good base to explore other towns on the island by bicycle.

Excellent service and nice personell of all categories. Wonderful beach nearby with watersports. Superb cycling possibilities and a cosy village with all necessities and great people.

We were greeted by the staff in reception in a very friendly manner and informed of the local amenities. The pool was excellent and as we had a ground floor room overlooking the pool this was very convenient.

We found the room rather small, but as we were there for only 3 nights this wasn't a problem for us.

Great location near the beach. Breakfast is ok for the price if the staff manages to refill your coffeecup. Cereals, ham, cheese, different kinds of bread, eggs, yogurt, evreything there...Parking possible close by or for a fee on the property.

The restaurant is not really worth a visit but try the "Restaurant Traditionel" for lunch and the "Restaurant Rivedouce" for dinner in the village. The staff in the hotel is friendly but often absent. The doors to the rooms are stuck and you have to open them with force and noise. In case you are a little overweight you will have a problem getting into the tiny room to use the toilet (squeeze in next to the toilet or stand on the toilet to shut the door). Wardrobe doors screech. Communication from the room next door is clearly audible. I would recommend this hotel to clients who don't insist on well maintained interior.

Creo que no tiene nevera en la habitación .De noche me gusta beber agua fría y para mi es una necesidad básica.

C'est tout simplement le meilleur rapport prix prestation de l Ile de ré . Nous avons été séduit par l'accueil chaleureux , la propreté des chambres et en plus ptit dej digne de ce nom merci encore à l'équipe du Grand Large

Situation en bord de route, très passante. Manque de charme de la décoration, pour un trois étoile, wc très petits, difficile de passer entre la porte et la cuvette ! télévision qui fonctionnait mal.

Nous avons tout apprécié. Calme, confort, gentillesse, qualité.

Nous avions demandé une chambre avec un lit double. Nous avons eu un lit double mais formé avec 2 petits matelas meme pas de meme niveau... Les oreillets étaient trop petits et pas confortable. La tété captait toutes les 5 minutes... Nous avons été déçu.

La chambre supérieure avec vue mer est relativement spacieuse, le wc séparé la sdb est bien dimensionnée. Le personnel est agréable. La carte du restau offre également un bon rapport qualité-prix. La literie était acceptable.

Les chambres donnent sur une route fréquentée mais à faible allure. Un lit double plutôt que deux lits cote a cote est plus agréable pour un couple.
