In the middle of upgrades, the rooms that were done, were okay, but the common areas are not great.

Nobody in reception, we always had to wait a few minutes. Lift always broken.

The room was small but nice and clean. The staff was friendly and the price was very good. Good location, many restaurants nearby. The bathroom was newly renovated and very clean. Nice hotel for a short visit.

The room was very cold, the elevator didn't go all the way up to 6th floor and sometimes stopped between floors. I wouldn't reccomend the breakfast.

Location is ok, quite close to centre of the city and metro.

Very small room, quite dirty, cold and the worst, I was doublecharged and the personal would not even try to investigate the issue, leaving the recuperation of the money to be a very lengthy and hard proces, involving booking reclamation, bank involvment, etc. Over all a very bad experience, with the feeling that they tried to cheat ....

-The room was small but clean, freshly renovated, brand new bathroom finishing. -Close to 3 metro stations - closest is Brochant, walking distance, a few minutes -There's a supermarket just down the street, 2 minutes away -There are many bars, boulangeries, shops in the neighborhood where you can eat, drink, have a breakfast to go. (We chose not to serve breakfast at the hotel) -The staff is friendly and they all speak English (we talked to 3 people at the front desk at different times - seemed like a family, maybe it's a family operated business) Overall, I'd say it's a good place to crash at night when you're visiting the city from the early morning until late at night.

-Noise. We got there at 2 pm and wanted to take a nap straight away. It was hard to fall asleep because the cleaners in the other rooms were very noisy. You can hear everything that goes on in adjacent rooms and on the hallway (people walking, talking, clunking noises, keys going into keyholes, elevator, everything). If you're a light sleeper you might want to consider bringing some ear plugs. We had no problems during the night though, when people are asleep. -The toilet space is small, you have to sit on the toilet seat sideways (but everything is new and kept very clean) -The tiny elevator sometimes stops in between floors - just push the button again and it takes you to your floor.

1. perfect location. Very close to metro station, post office, food stores, book shops, confectioner's shop... One the one hand it's situated close to the sentrum, but on the other hand it's not a tourist district and you can FEEL Paris as it is! 2. VERY close to Montmartre, you can walk there. 3. very friendly and polite MALE-stuff in the hotel. We needed forks and plates and they gave us it without any problems. And they speak english! 4. room was cleaned every day 5. in midnight doors of the hotel are closed, but we had our own key and it wasn't any problems to come in. I would recommend this hotel for everyone who needs the hotel just for sleeping and keeping things and isn't looking for anything luxury.

There was the only thing i didn't like, but it was a trifle... FEMALE-stuff is quite overweening and not such riendly as MALEs one. When we asked a woman on a reception about to buy internet for one-two days only she told us that it wasn't possible and we had to buy internet for all days we were there. When we asked the same of a man on a reception he did it for us without any problems.

Pluses: Four walls. Ceiling.

Minuses: Everything else. I guess you should be suspicious when a hotel demands payment before you've even seen the room. It quickly became apparent why: a tiny, dismal cell, it smelt like a tramp's armpit, and had a selection of lethal-looking wires hanging from the mustard- coloured walls. The ill-tempered shower had mould sprouting on the ceiling, and there was a giant hole in the roof over the loo. Highlights of our stay included being phoned at night and hassled to pay for the WiFi; getting awoken at dawn by our shrieking mentally disturbed neighbour in Room 20; and getting locked out at 2am thanks to a faulty key. As a sublime, final kick in the financial balls, the receptionist made me pay her two euros if I wanted her to ring for a taxi. The squalor and terrible service might have been excusable if it was cheap, but it wasn'T. Frankly, next time I go to Paris, I'm going to try and get myself arrested for being drunk and disorderly. Even if I end up lying in my own vomit while a huge french trucker bears down upon me with a wicked gleam in his eye, it will still be preferable to a night in Le Roi Rene. Merci et au revoir.

Located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, requiring a 5-minute walk to the metro station with plenty of places to eat and have a drink nearby. The hotel also provides good customer service to hotel guests and everything else was working well.

10 minute stroll to the Metro the English-speaking receptionist the modern and stylish upgrade to the room (except the shower that was very small) the neighbourhood with a wide choice of restaurants, small shops and laundromats

The bed was very comfy and the shower was very powerful, they were great.

The cleaner comes in very early in the morning, we felt as though we had to leave earlier. There was a slight smell of old/used bedding. There was no hair dryer

Rooms need renovation, but particularly I did not like the fact that I had no light in bathroom and they did not fix it during 4 days of my stay despite me claiming it every day... signal for wifi was quite low, for example, not even enough for skype call

The Hotel is located in a very amicable area, very "parisien", a boulangerie, a tabac, even church are just opposite or next door, at a nice small square. Behind the square you have beautifull Jardin des Batignolles, and on the way to the tube (one of a few) you have many supermarkets and restaurants. Actually it is even possible to walk to/from the bus station at Porte de Maillot (aprox 40 min), if your plane departure / arrival is on critic hours, when the tube does not function. The rooms must be ronovated and they are very clean -comparing to many other hotels in Paris - where we come quite often. There is a lift for tired ones.

There was some misunderstanding with a tax levy.

The old rooms was so dirty, bed was unstable and .... But when we moved to the new rooms (the restorated one) much better, much clean,

I think, that is very difficult to find hotel cheaper in Paris, so Roi Rene is good enough, in its price category.

You get what you pay for. Very simple, clean, friendly staff. We just needed a price-friendly place to stay overnight, so it suited very well.

Difficulties with English at the reception.

Fair location and budget hotel

We left 2 days early and had to pay the entire 7 days, so it didn't turn out to be such a bargain. Very small room, but adequate for budget hotel. No washcloth, only one towel, one face towel for 2 people (very cheap and thin). Had to ask for an extra towel. Able to walk to the Sacre Couer and the Monmarte area. However access to the Metro Station "Rome" was a rather seedy walk, with homeless people asleep/living on the sidewalk.

The hotel was centrally located, near the public transportation, had large openable windows making the room very comfortable. They served a continental breakfast with wonderful bread and rolls fresh from the bakery. The hotel staff was gracious and helpful.

The mattresses were not full twin thickness, but adequate.
