Hôtel Roi Soleil Colmar  

Great value. Decent (although Paris small) rooms with comfortable beds. Good access to Alsace wine road.

Rooms were small, only enough room to walk around bed. Breakfast was not worth the extra cost, get a coffee and pastry in town instead.

Got stuck in a restroom but hotel staff were quick to come to get us out - and also gave us a bottle of wine as well.

Typical motel, facilities quite basic - pretty much reflective of the room price. Only one place to eat nearby (steakhouse an only option, though it was a good place to eat out for us).

Most people stay in a budget hotel because they are travelling and have to stay somewhere, but that isn't in the above list. What did I like? just about everything, but to list what comes to mind, the unexpected bath, the local restaurants, the adiquate and clean room, the breakfast that included a hard cheese and two sorts of cooked meats and fresh coffee from a machine, not stewed coffee from a hot plate. Its a shame that they do not have a hotel near Calais where I had to stay in a very disappointing hotel. I can imagine that the room can be very hot in summer as you are advised not to open the windows because of insects. Perhaps a fly screen?

The only complaint that I can make is that the Roi Soleil Prestige is the first hotel in the road, and the Prestige is written in a light coloured paint that is hard to see at dusk. If they had a sign that pointed out the two hotels then I think many travelers would be spared the experience of being handed back their reservation printouts as if they had wiped their arses on it.

Good value for money including a nice breakfast. The rooms are very small but were clean. The location is good if you have a car otherwise may be problematic. The stuff were all nice and willing to assist. Good atmosphere.

Rooms are too small. Lousy pillows. Bathtub/shower combination not good for elderly travellers. Carpets dirty.

Good clean hotel that suited our budget. The town of colmar was very pretty and worth a visit on its own.

no good relations with the staff... we asked to keep our luggage for an hour and it wasn't possible... the breakfast is quite poor... only salami and cheese, no other salt stuff. croissant quite hard to eat (very poor for the french standards!) verty bad staff

Price, rooms clean and ok. Situation and parking. The breakfast is nice and ok.

No complaints, the office desk at the reception should look a little bit more 'luxurious', this should give a better image when entering the hotel but for the price, it is really perfect.

This hotel was excellent. The buffet breakfast for choice and quality was unbeatable, the hotel facilities i.e. comfort, cleanliness, friendly and helpful staff, location again were faultless. I hope the chain open up in Europe further. Would thoroughly recommend the hotel.

We stayed in many budget hotels and hotel chains in France for 10 days, 1 night/hotel, this was our last night. We had the very best experience in a budget hotel: much bigger room, real big bathroom, much better furniture with full size desk. Good reception, perfect parking, good breakfast, 3 vending machines, with even a frozen meal vending machine for the late-arrivers :) Looks like this chain has 6 hotels in the area, will be definitely using it again. It was far the best of the 4 budget hotels chains visited.
