Location is great for transport, cafes, restaurants etc. Very clean and it felt very safe. Staff polite. Water always hot. TV worked well and so did WiFi My room was not on the street side, so it was nice and quiet. Windows that I could open and a bath tub with hand shower. Great value. I would stay there again.
No bath plug and no electric kettle. No lift, but the stairs are not too bad. TV only gets French channels. To be honest the advantages of this hotel far outweigh the disadvantages, but these are things that it's better to know in advance.
Nothing but they didn't charge us for cancelling our accommodation and were reasonable about it
The fact that after spending 12 hours on a train arriving at 8.30pm and getting to the room which was on the 4th floor and no lifts blew me away and a room that you couldn't swing a cat in did it for me. The place had obviously just been painted because of the strong smell. After walking the streets for 2 hours we finally went back and told them we were cancelling and going elsewhere.
Close to Metro. Friendly waitress at morning breakfast.
Noise. Guy trying to pay for sex outside our door , 4:00 in the morning.
Location was perfect, just a few steps to M1 line. Wifi worked very well & fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel. It is good value for money. Hoping to be there again very soon.
Some mornings it was a bit noisy but it is mainly because of other guests. Bed could be a bit more comfortable. All the rest was ok for me.
Location, easy access to center of Paris, Pace Vosges, Picasso Museum and Bastille Metro
Party atmosphere went on to the very early hours, if you want to sleep well ask for a back room
Only that sleep was a bit difficult due to the room being on the street. Double glazed windows cut this down but had to be open as there was not air conditioning in the room.
A whole list of problems which are still unresolved. I should have been suspicious when I emailed the hotel about nearest parking and received no reply. This is because it is a 15 min walk away when carrying luggage and cost €37 for just one night! Many problems arose when we arrived. There was nowhere to stop outside the hotel and unload. My partner had several trips from the car with our luggage while I waited with the car in a no parking area. There is no lift in the hotel therefore there were several trips up to our room on the 4th floor. When checking our receipt we could see that we had been overcharged. Our booking clearly stated inclusive of VAT but we were told this was a mistake and a refund was refused. I called Booking.com and an Irish lady argued that she could see on her screen that the amount was in agreement with the hotel. She refused to believe that my printout of my booking confirmation differed. I photographed it and emailed it to her using my phone as requested but she did not reply. The room itself was in the roof area with no view and only a small window. The lack of ventilation was stifling therefore we did not sleep and left early without the breakfast we had paid for. The room was also noisy despite the claim of soundproofing which kept us awake. On our way out to dinner we had asked for more pillows as we only had one very thin one each. The nightman said that he would take them up. On our return they were still in reception but someone had been in our room. The wine that we had opened had spilled all over the bathroom floor and a large pad which looked like a sanitary towel had been left on our bed. We complained but to no avail and even spoke to the owner on the phone. He refused to believe us or give refund and said that we were free to leave and hung up. I called Booking.com again and this time spoke to an American woman. She was incredibly rude and refused to believe what had occurred and hung up on us.
Location to public transport was great and it was in a nice area.
The room was very hot and the street was quite noisy.
My room was very noisy and glaring from outside, small and very hot(no A/C) ,unclean(I didn't take a shower),Wifi was not easy using.
Good location - across the road from Metro. Lively area at night. Room larger than expected.
We were on 4th floor with no lift (however, they carried our suitcases up for us).
The great location, just across from Bastille Station, and very easy access, by metro, from the airport - ideal for solo female travellers like myself. My room was really quite spacious, by Paris standards, very comfortable, with good, free WiFi access. 24 hour desk monitoring - helpful assistance was available at any time.
The area around the Bastille station is lively and can be a little noisy if your room overlooks the street and rubbish collection and/ or deliveries occur in the early mornings. However, this can be expected if one chooses a place in a very central location.
Attitude of one of the staff members. (other v good) Road noise
excellent location with friendly and helpful staff. very quiet room.
the room we had was quite small, and on a hot night without AC it could be uncomfortable.
wifi didnt work,no bathroom equipment,price
Good location, nice staffs, 7/24 service of the reception. The microwave is open to use. The hotel is very closed to Place de Bastille and Metro station. There are some restaurants and a supermarket nearby.
The room is too old to have a conditioner, only a electric fan is provided. It must be very hot and muggy in summer.
The staff were very helpful and considerate. The room was clean, and as my room was on the inside the room was quiet, even though the street outside is busy. The Cafe Bastille, right on the corner of the Place Bastille had delicious coffee, and great people-watching.
The coffee for the hotel breakfast was surprisingly bad for French standards. And not hot. The breakfast was standard, fine: a croissant, some baguette, yoghurt and fruit available. I was surprised to find not even a bar of soap, let alone any shampoo, in the room.
Location is everything here
Spartan accommodation! You have to make your own comfort here.
Nice quiet rooms 206,207,306,307. Beds ok.Great location with restaurants.
Not too clean rooms.
No AC. Very basic
Seems that there were bedbugs. Didn't get bitten but we saw marks of them.
I liked the privacy, the fact that there was no disturbing noises and the friendliness of the staff and most especially the softness of the bed.
The key was so sticky in the lock that I couldn't open it myself sometimes and it didn't get fixed after I asked.
Very near to the Opera theater and metro station. Good location!
Wifi connection is bad. The room is a bit dirk.
Low quality, noisy, unfriendly staff
Very close to bastille metro. Cool bars on doorstep!
The hotel was located near lots of restaurants and the subway, so food and transport was good. The staff was helpful to, especially not knowing much French our self, they were patient and polite
The bathroom was a letdown, The bath/shower leaked all over the floor, the shower head was busted and sprayed everywhere. The room service forgot to lock the door, leaving it ajar. The rooms picked up the noise and the entrance you must ring a bell to open the front door. this noise echoed through out. not good at late hours or early morning
