This is a fabulous hotel in a lovely location with a great view. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were very good and helpful and the price negotiated via booking.com made it a very good place to stay.
I think that where it fell down was with the food and dining facilities. Firstly, the bar area was pretty dead although very comfortable. I think they preferred you to have your aperitif at your dining table. It wasn't all that big either: several people were unable to dine in this main dining room. The menu was not very extensive but fairly expensive and not actually all that fantastic. The wine list was pretty dear too. Breakfast was also expensive and average.
We had a lovely spacious room and bathroom. Very comfortable. Staff friendly and easy parking.
Breakfast very expensive. As we stayed on a Monday when the restaurant was closed (in August!!), this seems an uncommercial approach to guests, especially as we probably paid the going rate for the room.
Everything is superb !! Amazing hotel, brilliant cheese board. Awesome.
Nothing to dislike.
The view was amazing. One of the quitest hotels we have ever stayed in.
Wonderful hotel! Service is excellent! It is a very romantic place! Greeting with a glass of champagne! Goodbye present for the road! Real squeeze orange juice !!! Never before offered not even Four Season and Ritz Carlton... Cannot wait to return!
We thought the people were excellent, an the hotel superb! Many thanks, Stephen & Jane
Perhaps the service over our evening meal was rather slow - a very small thing really...
It's amazing to live in the middle of the Moët & Chandon's vineyards. For a 2-3 days Hotel Champagne is a great place to stay. Amazing staff that are very helpful and lots of champagne :)
The restaurant is a bit overpriced, the breakfast is great but the dinner restaurant tries to be something it isn't. They should lower the ambitions and prices.
The stunning view of the vineyards, the excellent food, the helpfull staff. This is a wonderful place!
Well it's expensive, that's about it
Great views from one of the newly refurbished rooms in the newer part of the hotel overlooking the vineyards.
Via reception we booked a table overlooking the vineyard in the restaurant for dinner at 8pm. We arrived at 8.15pm to be told the only table available was in a dark corner in the back of the restaurant. When we questioned why our table had been given away we received a shrug of the shoulders! We were then offered the option of waiting for another table. An hour and fifteen minutes later we were still waiting so abandoned dinner! Nearby towns were deserted so no alternatives there so we went to bed hungry. Probably good for our wallet and waistline but not what we'd hoped for on our special time away.
The view from the room and location.we enjoyed our dinner but on reflection the hotel is to pricey for what it offers.
The restaurant is closed on Mondays for dinner. We were told tea was available in the lounge every day but when we asked on the Monday we stayed were told, no tea on Mondays. It was a wet miserable day so were were unable to get a hot drink until the next morning. The steps leading to the restaurant are dangerous and should be changed quickly. The first breakfast one cup was badly chipped and on the second one cup was cracked and leaked the coffee. There is no pool or other leisure facilities.we lated stayed at this hotel about 15 years ago, it has not kept up with what is expected of a 5star hotel today.
Location and view
Needed tlc, blinds & fly curtains broken, rather outdated & faded decor, very expensive restsurant & presented me twice with wild mushrooms despite having been told I was allergic to them. Standard did not merit price,
Breakfast buffet is too expensive
The view and the somellier
All was best
Classic room had been modernised and had a lovely balcony overlooking the vineyards. We wanted a fabulous last stop for our honeymoon tour and this was it!
It is pretty expensive and the gourmet meal was served a bit too slowly. Otherwise fantastic in all respects
Absolutely amazing hotel, great service, very relaxing.
Loved our room, the view of the valley to Epernay and the location...a quick drive to nearby villages and Epernay. Staff was very helpful (a real lifesaver) when we had a minor fender bender accident in the parking lot...would have been a nightmare to handle with our French! They made it all so easy for us. Thank you great staff.
Our opinion: over-priced for the comforts offerred. No pool, no workout room, no sauna? How can this be a Relais et Chateau selection? 18Euros per person for a buffet breakfast (we passed). No option for breakfast service to the room. Staff was always pushing dinner reservations (we never accepted...went in to Epernay each night).
Excellent spacious rooms with lovely views.
room and the views, good breakfast and good restaurant
The restaurant was closed on Monday night when we arrived. We knew about this but it a poor thing for a quality hotel to not offer restaurant facilities on all evenings
View, location, rooms
We arrived on a Monday and had driven from London. We had been told before we arrived that the restaurant was closed on Mondays and a list of 5 local restarants had been provided via email. But we were too busy to choose before we left. On arrival we were so exhausted that we asked if we could have room service of a light supper. We are offered a plate of charcuterie and salad, which was perfect. This was done and wonderful, but we had a problem getting the wine we wanted and although we asked for a white the chap came back with a red saying that he could not find the bottle we had asked for from the Room service menu and the cellar was locked. I do understand that the chef needs a day off, but in such a luxury hotel I do think that room service should be available 7 days a week and staff that are knowledgeable about the wines, are on duty. this did some what spoil what was a beautiful stay in your hotel.
Staff rather aloof No atmosphere in the Restaurant Not great value for money
Nice place, but over priced for what it is
Breakfast is very expensive, and dinner is too expensive for what it is
Great location looking over Epernay and the champagne vineyards.
Nice ambiance, relaxed up-market feel with a complementary glass of champaign on arrival. We had a very spacious room with a wonderful view across the valley and we found the staff very helpful and friendly.
The hotel itself was very nice as you would expect for the money but we were disappointed by the evening dinner. The quality was good but the quantity was poor. We're not big eaters and we understand the 'fine dining' concept of food presentation, but at the end of the day, we wanted a meal, not swirls of balsamic vinegar on the plate and food a secondary concern. The mushroom risotto had one mushroom and about three tablespoons of rice, oh and a vine tomato and some green mint leaves plonked on the top - three courses for €69, not good value.
The view is wonderful. Dinner excellent.
The 2 loungers on our patio were badly damaged; huge holes through large parts. As if someone had put their foot through them? I mentioned this to the receptionist and her comment was "we just replaced them last year." As if that solved the problem. The inside of the front door around the door handle was also badly damaged. Broken wood work. These details matter when you are paying a very high price for the room. Tacky. No facilities eg pool, spa, gym etc
