Very convenient location, walking distance to famous places in the city; very friendly staff, always want to help guest; very quite environment, newly refurbished rooms. I will highly recommend to my friends who will travel to Paris.
It would be good if the bed size could be larger...
Friendly and helpful staff Centrally-located; you can walk to the sites
We had an amazing time at the Hôtel Saint-Paul Rive-Gauche. Everything from the decor to the location and staff were fantastic and made our stay comfortable. If you are after an authentic stay in the middle of Paris this is for you.
Close to most places, loved the district. Very comfortable Hotel.
The location of the hotel is its main selling point- only 10 mins walk (max.) from Notre Dame, and in a lovely area of the left bank, by the bustling St Germain des Pres and the gorgeous Luxembourg Gardens. The hotel is compact, but the room we had was of a comfortable size, certainly not cramped. The decor in the room, and in the main areas of the hotel was lovely, and everything was spotlessly clean. We had a small issue with our safe on the second day, but the staff sorted it out very quickly, and were so helpful and gracious at all times (their English was phenomenal, shaming our poor ability to speak French). The breakfast buffet is opt-in, and we decided to have it on two of the mornings; at 14 euro P.P. it doesn't seem cheap, but you can eat til your heart's content and you've gotten value for money. All in all, a great hotel that I would love to stay at again in the near future!
There was nothing that we were unhappy with.
Bathroom was pretty good, room was small but we were only there for one night and it didn't really bother us about having a lot of space.
Staff didn't tell us that if you were going out at night you were supposed to leave your key at reception so that they would know you were out. No view from our room.
I visited the Hotel in April when I had a few days on my own in Paris and I really liked it. I travelled this time with my 18 year-old daughter and we both enjoyed the stay here and had a characterful charming room with sloping ceilings and a view of the roof tops from the dormer window. It is very central but quiet and the area feels safe to walk around at night.
The location is spectacular and central to the city's attractions. The lobby is understated chic with stone walls and Parisian touches. Staff is sincere, helpful, and willing to make your stay exceptional. The rooms are comfortable, quiet, and decorated well. Bathrooms are modern and clean. Would highly recommend this hotel and plan on returning here in the future! Thank you staff at St. Paul Rive Gauche, you're truly exceptional!
Location is very close to Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, many restaurants, parks, metro were all convenient. Staff was friendly. Place is clean and professional. Highly recommend for these reasons!
Our room was very small, especially the bathroom. Tight hallways. Just a bit silly the layout. Maid service was so-so, and breakfast was just adequate. If not for location all would be unacceptable.
The location is great! Free Wi-Fi.
Small rooms with minimal facilities.
I had a comfortable quiet room at the back of the hotel with nice L'Occitane toiletries and very nice bathroom. The area felt safe and as a woman travelling on my own this was important and I felt fine about walking back at night to the Hotel. The staff were all helpful and friendly. I will come back again and will recommend it to friends and family
Small comfortable hotel in the district we wanted to visit. Rooms were good size, bathing facilities were excellent, everything was clean and well-cared for. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Didn't try breakfast as we usually go to favourite cafe nearby, so can't comment. There was a bit of noise from neighbouring rooms, so could look at better sound insulation.
Very good location near Luxembourg gardens. Nicely decorated rooms. Friendly staff. Fast wifi (once you have access and keep it).
Twin beds have wooden sides at top and bottom making them somewhat short for tall people. Room was also rather small. Very tiny toilet separate from shower. Creating and recreating wifi account (after 24 hours) a bit arduous.
The location was superb and everything was nice and clean. Staff was kind and helpful.
The small double room really is what it says. If you are a tall or a wide person, fitting into the toilet can be a problem.
very helpful staff - made the stay enjoyable pleasant location
room air-conditioning was inadequate servicing of room was sometimes incomplete
The staff are fantastic and so is the hotel. Perfect location for notre dame and if you want to walk just a couple of miles down the river to the eiffel tower. Or the metro is just round the corner.
Excellent location, friendly staff. Small but comfortable room.
I lived in this part of Paris when I studied at SciencesPo, and we had stayed at this hotel in 2007, so we were looking forward to returning. The hotel is as charming as ever, and the reception team are kind and knowledgeable, but we found the Standard Room we were given (#21) to be very cramped: it should be a single room rather than a double as you need to squeeze past each other. It's an old hotel, but we have plenty of these in Europe, and this falls short of standard. Would I stay again? Yes, probably. But not in room 21!
There was just one small surface area, so no space for your book/passport/mobile phone/iPad/junk and no drawers so difficult to unpack. The bathroom was clean but again tiny with one small narrow shelf over the toilet for your toiletries and not enough rail space to hang towels to dry, so ours were constantly damp until we learned to ask for new ones every day. Lovely shower, but again no shelf for soap, shampoo etc, so you have to leave them on the floor or open the shower door and reach for them by the sink. The other thing that I didn't like was that although it was on the second floor, there was a passage way across the courtyard, so passersby would suddenly appear at eye level, walking directly towards the room, and could peer in. It would have been nice if there was a net curtain for privacy, but there was only the blackout curtain, and no-one wants to close this in the middle of a sunny day! The bed was on rollers so when you sat up and leaned back, it slowly rolled away from the headboard! I was disappointed that the room did not contain a safe, but the reception staff offered me the use of theirs. Finally, there was a strange smell in the room: nothing strong or offensive, just a faint fustiness. If anyone had asked us what we thought of our room, I would have told them, but no-one did. I mentioned a couple of times to the reception team that I found the room to be a little cramped, but they did not offer to explore this further. We thought about saying complaining, but decided that with this attitude we would probably be met with defensiveness, which would cause tension, and we decided that we did not have the appetite for this and that we did could put up with the room as we were in a lovely location, and we did not intend to to spend much time in it.
It's a very nice hotel. Staff is excellent, 100% customer oriented. Location is perfect, near Odeon metro station, close to many cafes an restaurants. Rooms are clean with interesting design. Quite small, though it's standard for Paris.
It was quite cold in the room and though the conditioner helped after it was switch off, the room became cold again immeiately.
Charming hotel in the bustling St Germain des Pres area of the city. Restaurants and bars in every direction. Hotel was very quaint and comfortable. My daughter and I had a twin room in the 5th floor attic with small windows towards the rear of the hotel. Small but very clean and modern en-suite shower room.Thankfully there was a lift. The staff were very helpful at all times
Room was slightly claustrophobic as the small attic windows were high up and so we had no view other than rooftops
Very friendly staff.
Room extremely small for two.
The welcome from the staff was like returning home and they did everything to make our stay memorable and special. We can't recommend them enough. The room was small & charming with a very comfortable bed and had everything we needed plus a newly fitted bathroom with shower and big fluffy towels. Our window opened onto a quiet courtyard yet when we stepped out of the hotel we were in the bustle of the lively latin quarter. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of variety and the best coffee. Our thanks to Valerie and all the team for a great stay. We've already booked for our next visit to Paris!
Great location ,so close to every thing.
No tea or coffee in room.
The location is excellent. The hotel has a cosy feel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and their restaurant recommendations were first class. We would certainly return to this hotel.
