The hotel was in the process of being renovated when I was there. My room had been renovated and was very clean with a lovely sparse nordic feel to it. Just as shown the online photos.
The hotel was very near the train station but I would suggest not going out after dark in this area as I thought it looked quite dangerous. There is no lift in this hotel and being on the 3rd or 4th floors makes carrying your luggage a major problem particularily if you elderly of not very strong. On each floor there are 6-7 rooms. Luckily when I was there the hotel was nearly empty but while the shared bathroom and lavatory where very clean and perfectly adequate it could be a long wait to use them if the hotel had a lot of guests.
Close to the train and bus station; within walking distance to the attractions, market and restaurants. The room and bath room are very clean.
The location of the hotel is excellent. Very close to the river and station and easy access across the bridge to the main part of town. Set in a pedestrianised street so no traffic noise.
Not all rooms have a toilet
Overpriced for quality of accommodation. Lots of street noise.
extremely convenient to the train station and to take away restaurants on main boulevard to centre ville, bed sheets smelled very clean and fresh
dark, creaky stairy
very clean shared bathroom
Nadine the proprietor was extremely nice and helpful ... Great breakfast !
A lot of stairs to the top floor where our rooms were located ... Fine for anyone fit but we had a mixed group from 40's to 75 ,, However we managed with a very helpful "hands on" owner .
Price, staff and location and breakfast
Showers were always wet
location - very convenient for late arrivals / early departures
wi-fi not working at the floor where the room was located
Host was lovely. Lovely decor. Close to train.
Street can be noisy. Would be nice to have a sink in with toilet but it was next door which was ok.
My room was up-to-date, clean and did meet my expectations. Room was recently renewed and modern but needs some finishing touches. Not all rooms/floors are modernised yet, so first impressions may be misleading. Anyway: make sure to book a modern room! All neighbouring rooms were occupied but I heard nothing! Lunch downstairs was fine! Distance to station is less than 5 minutes.
Very small but comfortable bed. Room had only one small window and no ventilation. Soooo Stifflingly hot that coukd not sleep.
Clean room decorated in marine style with a kind of French balcony to a street that was not too noisy.
The room smelt varnish because of the renovation. Water had to be fetched from the shared bathroom. No basket for trash.
Half renovated, shared bathroom flooded hallway
location - very convenient for late arrivals / early departures; friendly owner; probably last reamining cheap option in town
street noise at 2-3 AM
I was looking for a relatively cheap accomodation for one night in Bayonne and booked this hotel, which at that moment didn't have any reviews yet, so didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find it recently re-opened (therefore no reviews yet) and completely renovated (except staircase still to be done), very clean and with nice, new furniture. We had a room with shared bathroom on the same floor (next to the room), which was also very new and clean and convenient. The decoration and whole atmosphere of the hotel and the café/restaurant next door are very warm and cosy. Once I met the owner - Nicole - I understood why, because she is a woman with passion and love for detail, very friendly and customer-orientated. The food served at the resto was also very nice and not expensive. For lunch and dinner you can have burgers, tartines or bagels (with fresh bread from the bakery next door) or salads / gazpacho. For breakfast there's bread, croissant, yogurt, juice and coffee. The hotel is 2 min from the gare and 10min walking from Bayonne city centre, so really well located. I would def. recommend it!
We were backpacking, so climbing up the stairs was no problem, but if you come with a heavy suitcase, be informed that there is (currently) no lift.
The man who registered me was very helpful, flexible and understanding. He woke me up on time and accepted my pet in the room with no problem.
No elevator, and to climb to the third floor with suitcases and dog was quite and adventure. Noise from the street.
Near to the train station and clean
