Hotel du Nord et de l'Est  

This hotel is a great option for staying in Paris. I was looking for a nice place that was economical and in a good location. While the rooms are small, they are clean and comfortable. There are some basic amenities that you don't always find in small Paris hotels (e.g. air conditioning, elevator). The location is fantastic being only a short walk from the Republique Metro station with a lot of great neighborhoods and restaurants very close by. The staff was friendly and helpful (though the night clerk messed up on my wake-up call-- I think he was new). I would definitely stay here again.

No real complaints about the hotel. The furnishings in my room were a little bit dated, but the room was very clean and comfortable, so that did not matter to me.

Location in not perfect, but the price is appropriate. 2 metro stations are nearby, so road to Opera took around 15 mins, to Eiffel Tower around 30 mins.

The staff were resourceful and friendly, give good advice on Paris tour.

With this price and two stars can you expect anything more...

The room was old and time-worn. All the facilities were from the 70's. The bed was the most horrible I've ever slept on! The mattress was hard, the pillows were lumpy and old, the sheets had holes which had been patched up very poorly, the cover was just a sheet and an old blanket and I was honestly worried about the hygiene... And the neighborhood was not great. We took a walk to the east of the hotel and the surroundings started very quickly to turn gruppy and shady. Only book this hotel if you are planning to spend zero time in the hotel room and are used to camping sites style facilities.

The value of room is beyond its price. It's very large and comfortable, with high-quality wifi connection and good-position sockets.

The vibration and noise which may come from metro system sometime are a little annoying. If you are taking a break or sleeping, the noise and vibration are quite obvious.

First floor was over the metro. Could hear the train below.

The room is clean and comfortable. The location is very convenient. It is relatively quiet area.

There is no electric kettle or fridge. The walls are quite thin.

Big safe. Free wifi.

No shower curtain. Water spilled on the floor when showering.

Great location, comfort, quiet and at the same time close to everything (Métro, Bataclan, République)...

It is good situated

We stayed in the room on 6 floor, it was small but quiet, faced backyard, with very clean renovated bathroom, ac and comfortable bed. The bed might be some hard for one, who prefers softer matrasses, but just perfect for us. We didn't eat breakfast in hotel, there is an excellent bakery just few steps towards Place de Republique, offering fresh pastry and coffee. Easy to gettting around Paris with metro, station is just few steps away... Good hotel for reasonable price if you want to spend a couple days in Paris. The area around hotel in the night might feel uncomfortable for walking, but we walked back from restaurant at Gare du Nord, was safe. Will be back when in Paris.

For this price this is a good hotel in Paris, only thing I can suggest to management is to replace the room carpets for hardfloor or laminate, or do some humid carpet cleaning more often, we had an allergies in the mornings. The rest was just fine.

Very clean and well kept room

Familiar environment. Quiet room. Good continental breakfast. Good wireless. Acceptable level of other services.

No sight. Small room. Small bed. No bidet.
