this hotel is ideally placed, clean and comfortable with friendly multi-lingual staff.
We only stay for short periods and have not discovered anything to dislike
Nearby centre of town
Tiny rooms , very old everything in the building , staff not good or bad , tragically expensive , not value for money!!!!!
It was so central to the metro made getting around so easy
- excelent location!! very close to 2 metro station (too bad Oberkampf was closed during our stay, this one is just near the hotel, but also Republique was 5 min walk, easy to reach even with he children and stroller); very close to nice coffees and boulangerie were you can eat in the morning; close to supermarket; nice restaurants and cheaper than the rest of Paris; - good wifi - rooms cleaned daily, the ladies in the cleaning were nice and helpfull
- they didn't have not even one map of Paris at the reception, they told me they will receive tomorrow but this didn't happen; even if they didn't have a map, neither they offered to ask me if I need any info or help. Instead I asked a map from another hotel close by, there the staff was really nice and offered me one, even if I wasn't staying with them - they charged from our credit card the cost of a one night stay, with almost one month before arrival, even if the condition of the booking was with "free cancelation"!!! - the staff on the reception was not always nice, the guy receiving us seemed almost bothered by our presence, with no smile or any other form of welcoming; he tried to give us a smaller room, in the attic, even if we were with a 4 year children and expressly specified on our booking that we want a room with a matrimonial bed and if possible larger or at least not in the attic! Only when we said that we are willing to pay 30 euro/day for an extra bed, suddenly he managed to find out a normal room on second floor (and not on the attic as he first said), larger enough to accomodate us. - they really need to change the doors on the rooms, they are old and hard to push
Its in a great area, so close to Marais. Its good value for money and its clean. A boulangeri just around the corner which is great for breakfast.
The room was really warm. Even tho we had "aircondition" which wasnt aircondition but a fan. And we were there in September so i dont even want to think how it would be in July. Unfortunatelly we could have the window open either cause there were a bit of noise even tho we had a room towards the yard.
Quiet comfort, friendly helpful staff
We use this hotel when we need an overnight stay in Paris. There is in that time, nothing to dislike.
A decent hotel in a good place: close to the underground station (République), the Gare du Nord (airport transports), a clean, decent hotel with very friendly, helpful staff in a small, quiet street. Both room and bathroom very neatly organised: in spite of the small places there was enough room for the suitcases and clothes (almost enough hangers in the wardrobe!). The bed: perfect to sleep in. Bedside lamps OK, possible to read by them in bed (an important feature in my books). Organisation of light switches: good. The elevator was - as usual in Paris - a bit small but OK, as we never had to wait long for it. One computer and two tablets in the lounge area. Other guests seemed nice, too.
I think, there could be some small improvements to be made so that the 3 star quality were there but nothing serious. (I.e. according to continental standards, British standards seem to be different: the same thing would be much more expensive there but maybe more up to date, too.) E.g. in the bathroom some clothes hangers on the door could help. (The towel racks are a bit just already for the towels.) It would be nice to be able to make your own tea/coffe in the room (the 12 E breakfast is too expensive when you can just drop in anywhere for a coffee and croisssants nearby). In spite of the rainy weather, the room was quite hot during the night (there is air conditioning but we don't like it) and opening the window didn't seem to help. (Maybe because a) it couldn't be opened fully as the bed was in the way b) our room looked on a courtyard that was quite small.) A minor annoyance for smokers: if you smoke in the street in front of the hotel, be prepared for some beggars (squatting nearby) to approach you regularly for a cigarette. (They are inoffensive but still a bit annoying.) The final thing is the price (not specific to this hotel only): I don't understand how prices can vary from 99 to 175 euros (here). I'd certainly find even 99 euros too much for a hotel like this (even 10 euros less was not cheap) but who would pay the 175?! Business travellers, maybe.
Location, good value. Showers were unexpectedly amazing.
No fridge or kettle in the room for tea and coffee. Small room, not great for twin, fine for a couple.
Good location, quiet street, close to Metro and lots of restaurants.
No tea or coffee making in room, no shower curtain so water goes everywhere.
LOCATION is the only thing that was great about this hotel. Tons of small shops, grocery stores, restaurants and bars around. Right next to the hotel is a small boulangerie with awesome croissants and coffee for breakfast. The closest metro station is a 4-minute walk and connects you to everything you'd want to see in Paris. The Wi-fi was great, strong signal and high speed - perfect for planning the next day trip. TV was tiny but had a good selection of international channels.
Somebody should really revise their 3-star rating and take down all those fancy photos - this is not what you are getting! The hotel is nothing but a bed in a noisy environment (paper-thin walls, smashing doors, and your neighbor's alarm won't let you have a proper sleep). Tiny (and I mean TINY) room with outdated furniture. The cleaning lady came in every day but seemed like she only made the bed - dust was all over, and the toilet and shower were never cleaned. In 6 days we spent there NO toiletries were added, at some point we were out of toilet paper. Breakfast is not included in the price. It is in no way worth the money they charge.
Hotel was equipped with free wifi (slow but worked most of the time). Hotel has an elevator which is helpful if you have a lot of luggage. Staff was efficient and helpful. The room had a safe which was nice.
Rooms are small but that was expected. There was barely space to lay out two medium sized suit cases. Bathroom smelled like a sewer and was pretty tiny (no counter space at all). It was a non-smoking hotel but we came back to our room in the evening with out entire room smelling like cigarette smoke. Our guess was that another guest was smoking and it travelled to our room through the vents. This lasted a few days which was annoying. Location was not as central as we had hoped. I would not likely stay there for my next Paris trip.
Close proximity to the metro. Pierre on reception couldn't be more helpful. Good wifi
The people living in the alleyway to places up from the hotel. An Alarm went off early one morning for no apparent reason, staff didn't even no what was going on it lasted for over 10 mins.
friendly staff, convenient location, clean hotel in a quiet location, fast WiFi
Rooms and upkeep.
Good location, nice, clear room. Nearby grocery stores, restaurants and subway station.
Very noisy and hot, the air conditioner is not effective.
Good sized room, close to underground rail station
$17.50 euro for a jar heated in the microwave wasn't what I expected for a meal ordered from their menu.
The breakfast - contrary to what others have said, 12€ was great for a selection of croissants, rolls, cheese, fruit puree, nuts, dried fruit, a hot drink and fruit juice. And you can have it in your room at no extra cost. Staff were welcoming and eager to help, room was clean and very comfortable - we'll definitely be staying again!
help at internetting
outcheck while we were outchecking other guests were helped and the money we had to pay was called before the addition was given to us
Cleanliness. Peaceful. Very close to Place de Republique, restaurants, shops and Metro. Indoor parking close nearby, but see opposite.
Quite warm in the room, but it was early August! Indoor parking nearby very expensive.
The hotel is well placed with easy access to the Metro at Le Republic and a number of good restaurants close by. The staff were friendly and helpful. A good base for sight seeing and experiencing Paris at a very reasonable price.
Can't think of anything!!
Bed was comfortable and location was good.
No screen or door in the shower. Expensive breakfast :12Euros for a continental breakfast. Very narrow hallways and small elevator.
Close to Gare du Nord Two rooms joined by private corridor - great for young children iPads in the rooms
No aircon, so room was hot at night (July visit), although noisy air cooler provided Hotel off main street, so quiet, however renovation work in progress opposite was a little noisy Breakfast expensive, however great boulangerie 1min walk away
This hotel was very comfortable and clean and had lots of cupboard space. Although there was building construction going on over the road, there was no noise when the window was closed. I liked the location near the Canal St. Martin and away from the more touristy parts of Paris. We were able to mix with the locals more there. The Marais District was not too far away either.
Ground floor room had no air con, other rooms did. Also this room is smaller than the others, would stay again, but request a different room.
Very close to metro but very quiet staff always helpful and always felt safe
First bar in france not to sell wine but we are been picky
