It was a lovely Little hotel. The rooms were perfectly decorated and I loved the home cooked evening meal and champagne that was provided to us.. It was that nice we even bought another bottle to go ...
the location was a bit remote.
Bedding damp - breakfast quality poor (burnt on the outside, uncooked on the inside). Room was excessively set up for the type of accommodation it was purporting to be. Never been had the room 'checked' before leaving in 50 years of travelling. Arrived on a Sunday after 12 hours of driving and the village was 'shut' - glad we'd brought our own provisions with us. Glad to leave in the morning.
Great bathroom, good location for champagne houses, wonderful evening meal at very reasonable price. Very helpful kind owner.breakfast was fine but no hot food offered. Good secure parking.
Very poor lighting in room, only basic hanging space for clothes no wardrobes or drawer space. Disappointing to find only paper cups for tea or coffee.
Owners/staff very friendly and welcoming; food was incredible, room was amazing (Egyptian Suite)
Lovely Egyptian-themed room, varied breakfast, friendly owner
Be aware there are not many facilities in immediate area (not a problem for us though)
We stayed only for one night on route to Calais and were made to feel very welcome. Nothing was too much trouble even the early breakfast request. The home cooked evening meal was fantastic and special dietary needs were accommodated. The rooms were amazing and well furnished. Would recommend and stay there again if we were in the area.
Nothing to complain about.
Our hostess was charming, the room was comfortable except for the chairs which were "quirky" as was the décor! but we liked it! The facilities were modern and clean. The breakfast was excellent.
Unwelcome reception as we arrived after a long journey at 19.38 and arrivals were only allowed 17.30 to 19.30. On more than one occasion it was stressed the room would be checked before we departed. Everything in the room was scrutinised, all towels counted, the floor examined for dirt! A cctv camera watched over us at the breakfast table. The room was small and the geriatric bed was uncomfortable. Generally made to feel unwelcome throughout the stay - a complete contrast to the other three guest houses we stayed at over the week, could not wait to leave.
Delphine made us feel really welcome. The room was excellent and the facilities within the room were first class. Plenty of room outside to sit and enjoy the sun. Secure parking. Would definitely stay there again and would consider staying for longer than the one night we did. We didn't have the evening meal as it wasn't available on the night we stayed but Delphine booked us in at a local restaurant which was superb.
Couldn't pay on credit card and found it dificult paying the deposit without incurring high bank costs but when talking to Delphine she says she has now made it easier to do this.
Great location in a small village on the edge of the champagne fields. Comfortable and well appointed room . Delphine (the owner) is great host and has lots of knowledge about the local area, and contacts in a champagne house should you need an out of hours tasting session!
We had the Egyptian room. It was very well equipped, with a reclining bed, radio in the shower and the possibility to make coffee/tea. The hotel is very well located if you want to visit the Champagne region. The owner is very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was enough (the day of your arrival you get a list to chose from - list that can be modified during the stay) but could be more variate, and include fruits and vegetables. The WiFi-signal was weak, although we had the room next to the router. The room has not been made up the whole three days we stayed there.
everything. easy to find, fabulous room, comfy bed, excellent shower. great evening meal we felt we were really looked after Delphine could not have been nicer. would definitely stay again.
nothing everything was great
Clean room Great shower Comfortable beds Friendly staff
Isolated location Basin taps noisy and impractical Outside areas a little neglected
Cleanliness. Excellent Food - standard of a professional restaurant. Secure Parking. Size of Room. Quality of Shower Room
Payment up front was a little surprising but, as it turned out, not an indication of poor service to come.
Brilliant location, the breakfast and evening meal was a delight as the owner sauced the food from local farms. Champagne was wonderful and the owners general knowledge of the area was very useful .. We stayed in the Egyption room which was delightful , if you get allocated this room you will not be disappointed! The shower is a must a long with the lovely bathroom and stunning designs,, we Will deffinatly go back to see this wonderful place and the owner.
Pleased we didn't listen to the negative feedback of others - the food and the rooms are superb!
Great rooms, gardens and breakfast. Near to motorway. Definitely one to revisit and handy for all the local champagne-based tourism
Beautifully decorated bedroom, excellent bathroom and very nice outdoor space. Delphine was very helpful and friendly.
Excellent meal in evening
Entrance not that obvious . Could have better signage
Egyptian Room decor was charming. Hostess is a young woman who gave us directions to a great restaurant about 15 km. away - Tours au Marne Champagnoise, I think. Check out the incredibly fancy shower!! Quiet room with nice terrace for evening sitting. Playyard for children.
Didn't bother us that they wanted payment when we checked in and they didn't take credit cards. That's okay. We also had to make a partial payment when booking - done by Paypal. Again, that wasn't a problem.
Very clean and interesting themed room. Alot of effort has been put into the rooms to make them unusual. It works....
Ordered an evening meal which was very nice however was given tinned veg!! When I stated my dissatisfaction with the veg being tinned it was made quite clear that they had taken offence as they gave us the cold shoulder for the rest of the evening. This made us really uncomfortable and we could not wait to return to our room.
The food was excellent
Having to pay a deposit in advance (although we overcame that) and not being able to pay with a credit card.
Evening meal outstanding
Bed creaked. Having to send deposit from uk with no credit cards accepted & only french bank accounts cheques. Don't booking.com guarantee money so why need for deposit
Great staff, took care of every request. Wonderful shower.
The owner was very accommodating. We felt very comfortable and safe with the children where they had lots if space to play. The owner was really lovely and the location was perfect for breaking the journey between the uk and the French alls. Highly recommended. Would stay there next time we go to the alps by car.
Great stop off on the way to the Alps, about 10 mins off the motorway. Very friendly owner, and lovely French home cooking, including Homemade croissants and jam at breakfast. Family room was oriental themed and large, with excellent shower.
