The rooms in general are nice decorated, classic with a modern touch and well equipped. Although the entrance area is very narrow (not like quoted on booking a large entrance area) and the closet is tiny. The positive points are the very cozy bed and the good location of the hotel. Concierge was also friendly. We booked a 3 night stay in a Luxury Club Sofitel room. Checking in, first of all the staff was not very friendly, they gave us a small room which was clearly not a Luxury Room and had never the size of 28 – 37 m2 (301-398 sq. ft.) like the Scribe Homepage says. We complained at the reception and after calling the manager in charge, he offers us a much larger room but unfortunately there were repair works on the outside of the building with scaffolding covering our whole window (furthermore it was not possible to open the window). The manager was friendly and mentioned that all other rooms are full, but we could change again the next day. Day after they offered us a new room without reconstruction but changing the room again was not convenient at all. I personally think, trying to give a client a smaller room category as booked is very unfair and not professional ! Needless to say, that they do not offer us any compensation. Furthermore the Scribe homepage describes the Club Sofitel Rooms as an eexclusive club service with newspapers, candies and free minibar soft drinks. On the first day we received some pastries to the room as a welcome present, but this was all. A newspaper for example, I have never seen during our stay. It seems like Sofitel is again promise things which they are not fulfill (like the room size). Despite of the free soft drinks from the minibar (which is nice) I did not notice any difference to any other room. Telling the reception at check out that I was quite disappointed about the hotel, they would like to be a 5star hotel, she was not responsive and told me that I should have asked for example for the newspaper ! No word about the inconvenience regarding the rooms. Again not very customer-friendly.

They neglected to mention that they are experiencing construction which entails scaffolds around all walls and windows on 2 sides of the hotel. The lovely view of Paris= workers standing 3 feet away from, and directly in front of, your window. Rooms without this impediment were very small, and not the executive level I reserved. Staff was disingenuous about what they were providing compared to what I had reserved. Fortunately I found a room elsewhere, and expect them not to charge for something I did not receive. Very disappointing.

Location was great. Staff was friendly and spoke English. Room cost was reasonable considering location and quality of room & service. Room service cost was not outrageous and offered a reasonable alternative for dining. Room service did not always have items on menu. Hotel charged for every service no amenities included. Internet service was free, but very slow.

Perfect location, there is this 5* feeling in the hotel The Superior room was rather small, staff at the reception (male) has been quite rude, which is totally unacceptable for a hotel of such level. The rest of them were okay, helpful and kind. Key card stopped working 20 minutes before check-out, which was annoying.

Location was great. Service was not up to the standard for the hotel it was. Asked for a king room and was given twin. Concierge was terrible. Had to follow up numerous times for simple things that would normally be done quickly and efficiently in other lower star hotels. Door man was never there to assist with a taxi, always had to hunt someone down but was always there for a tip.

The bed was just amazing, and the room itself is very stylish and comfortable. Very quite, friendly stuff, helping and welcoming. Again the location is perfect, close to Opera, which I find very nice area. The view on the inside part of the hotel was not really pleasing, though for those who mostly stay there during the night time it's okay.

The location of the Hotel is perfect. It is very close to shopping malls, metro station and a short walk from many historical places. It is more like a 4 star Hotel when I consider the decoration of the room.

Pleasant, helpful staff The price of eating there - completely disproportionate. For the room rate, breakfast should be complimentary, certainly not 35 Euros - crazy.
