Location. Friendliness and help from neighbours and manager. Street view.
four floors, 82 steps to climb with suitcases. Shower small.
when you arrive the building might seem old but as far as you step up and arrive to the studio is worth it. excellent location and we rested like babies. totally recommended.
it is on the last floor so it is difficult if you carry heavy luggage.
The location is FANTASTIC. It is just a few minutes from the Bastille metro, where there are three metro lines to choose from. On the same block as the building are a fun restaurant (Café de l'Industrie), a homemade chocolate shop, and a bakery that opens early (but is closed on the weekend). The building has a lot of character (leafy courtyard, uneven hallway floors) but the studio apartment has been done up very recently, and is modern and comfortable. We called Donatien from Bastille and he met us outside the building within ten minutes. Once he'd given us the keys and explained everything, we were left alone with everything we needed, and just had to leave the keys on the table when we left. We had a really wonderful time.
We would have liked a blanket rather than a comforter, as it was too hot for us, even in the cool weather, and the pillows were too high for us. But the fold-out bed is wide and comfortable. It is important to note that the apartment is on the fourth floor of the building, with no elevator. If your bags are very heavy, or your legs weak, you will struggle. There wasn't any toilet paper when we arrived. Fortunately I was traveling with a roll, and we were able to buy some in the Monoprix (It says Monop' on the shop) near the station. That grocery store closes at midnight.
Location is great. Very close to the metro, restaurants and easily accessible. Wi-fi is very fast and works excellently.
The room was too dusty and not well cleaned before we checked in. The price (50 Euro) we paid for cleaning was too much because the cleaning was not properly done. No elevator, we had to climb the stairs up to the fifth floor. No real bed, only sofa bed.
