Lovely room decor in a converted church. I didn't have stained glass window in my room but it was a charming room with many thoughtful and handy features
lack of communication between the hotel and Booking.com who did not confirm my pre payment to the hotel
the décor, the welcome, the personalised service, free WiFi and no extra charge for breakfast in my room. Delicious room service dinner
Historical place closed a garden
Nothing - it was a treat to stay there.
This hotel is imaginatively and beautifully constructed in a former church. All the best features of the old building have been preserved alongside extreme comfort of very modern fittings. The staff could not have been more informative and helpful and charming. The location, opposite the spectacular Jardin des Plantes is extremely pleasant.
Conversion of the Church into a hotel is not a success. They should see how paradors are transformed in Spain Room - the most expensive - very cramped and no proper wardrobe for clothes. No restaurant, no bar, no atmosphere !!
Location is probably the only thing.
The first room we were shown didn't have an opaque barrier between the room and the bathroom! The helpful reception lady then helped us in getting a room with a spacious bathroom and with a door. The hotel only had very few of these bathrooms since they were considered "handicap" accessible rooms.
Cozy and relaxing, it was the perfect last stop in our trip to France. Just a few blocks from the rail station and a surprisingly large and lovely city park (great for walking, running and sheep/goat petting!) Also just 10-30 minutes walk from anything worth seeing in the city of Nantes. Delightful breakfast with attentive server. Reception was also very friendly and the most helpful I encountered in all of France! Thank you for a wonderful experience! This is must stay for a visit in Nantes.
Unfortunately on one night our sleep was interrupted by other very loud guests.
The staff were very friendly and provided excellent advice on where to dine. The hotel has rectified the air conditioner issue by providing you with a remote control. However The blue light is still there when on. The room is very spacious.
Every thing. I would go back without hesitation.
Bit of a crush at breakfast time if there were more than three couples.
WOW - what a place to stay, we were celebrating our 42nd wedding anniversary and the staff really made us feel welcome. Thank you so, so much for making our stay so special.
Breakfast is not cheap (16 eur)
The building is fantastic Clean room Perfect bed Nespresso in the room Parking available
Architecture, decoration, parking, breakfast quality, staff attitude and attention to details
A beautiful conversion of an old chuch resulted in a great hotel experience. Extremely comfortable room with nice appointments.
The water from the taps didn't run cold which made filling water bottles for a long day exploring Nantes a little difficult. However staff were very accommodating and gave us extra bottles of water.
I would definitely recommend the Sozo hotel to anyone (in fact we already have!) The location is phenomenal, situated right next to the Jardin des Fleurs which meant that we had beautiful views. The building itself is stunning, and the rooms are lovely and exceptionally clean. The staff are welcoming and friendly, always willing to give brilliant advice and maps to people new to Nantes.
very comfortable and well situated. Excellent breakfast
Mentioned most already, however like all other reviews the aircon is unlike anything I have experienced in my frequent global travels. 1. The front desk controls the aircon, so one must call down to adjust at all times. 2. Put a piece of black tape over the blue light. Simple fix.
Really nice, warm staff that went out of their way to support our every move. From dinner reservations (6+ Attempts Per night in the closed season), to a general sense of true gratitude that we were there, each person was incredibly nice. Wifi was above European average but not amazing, and the quality of breakfast was on the higher end even though we felt it cost more than bread and pastries should. Location was fabulous next to the beautiful park and tram with the center of everything just a short 10-15 walk away. The bed was nice and we slept well, although every euro hotel could learn a lesson in pillow quality including Sozo.
- Very nice modern & clean rooms - Friendly and helpful staff - Excellent location near the botanic garden - Very quiet environment - Parking available
Could not operate the airco.
Most of it.
Nothing!! It was just perfect for me and great value.
I visited Nantes for a rowing event and spent one night here. Could not have been better for me- location was perfect- quiet room overlooking the beautiful Botanical gardens, well equipped room with good shower facility and crisp linen. Loved the general vibe with bright colours and the conversion itself is fabulous. The breakfast was fantastic- exquisite food beautifully presented and the staff were incredibly helpful regarding what to see in Nantes( there is masses to do including the castle museum which is one of the best museums Ive visited). I look forward to returning to the hotel and the city.
bed was uncomfortable, particularly on left hand side (room 307) Air con is maintained from front desk so you can't control it without contacting them. Air con also has a very very bright light that makes it difficult to sleep for light sleepers I expected a better, more beautiful room as I had paid for the middle quality. It felt like a basic room.
staff quality of food cleanliness Friendliness
Windows above head height & low lighting made it very dark in the room, particularly difficult for applying make up! There was too little storage space, hanging space again minimal - a jacket couldn't hang freely never mind a dress and surfaces for placement of items too minimal. Bed was practically wedged across the room allowing approx 30 cm passing space at the end. Along with the current fashion the bath & sink sat in a corner of the room. Air conditioning controlled by Reception so a call was needed if adjustments were required.
The wonderful old Church has been carefully converted and provides a very solid settled atmosphere. Millen (receptionist) was an absolute delight & was so helpful. Parking was on site. WC in separate cubicle.
Air conditioner so close to our heads. The cold air blowing onto our ears was not good!
Breakfast and great staff
Room was a little small.
Staff were wonderful. Location good. Decor excellent.
Room was small and the walls seemed tpo lack soundproofing
The room was very small and the bathroom I felt was not keeping with the hotel style. Shower was very very poor. No control in the room for air con. I had a design room where the main arch brickwork led up to the high ceilings, really nice when you look up but easily forget where you are when you don't. I would have liked the bigger room but very expensive. Nice experience all the same though.
Beautiful chapel hotel with modern interior. Reception and breakfast area were jaw dropping when you walk in. The location is just beside well maintained gardens and within walking distance to huge chapels and the main castle. Bikes are a great addition in the city if you want to explore further for 1 euro per hour just outside the gardens. Main square in the city is about 25 minutes walk.
minibar is missing
super hotel in a church, we felt welcome and special every minute in the hotel (never felt that way in a hotel), very quiet, super service The best hotel ever we experienced, we could even give them our bottle of champaigne to cool down and got it back in a bucket of ice and 2 glasses :-)
