nice staff ! very friendly and helpful
cramped conditions and not so clean
Good location - close to the metro and Sacre Coeur. Easy to find. Big bathroom.
Ridiculously unfriendly personnel - receptionist asked for a card then blocked 120 euro from it without any notification and without my permission. When I realized it (checked my online bank), next day I came to reception and other receptionist refused to give me preautorization receipt and refused to cancel this operation. He scoffingly said that he can't do that because the money was blocked by his colleague and he took our receipt home (very funny?) - he knew that we leave hotel at 4 a.m. and offered us to stay till 8 and wait for his colleague. So we had to pay the full amount again and leave the hotel without preautorization receipt. 4 days after journey the money was still NOT on my card. I sent the request to both hotel's e-mails and didn't get any reply yet. I had to address to my bank and spent much time getting my money back. It was very cold in the room although there were 2 or 3 radiators - they didn't work and were cold.
Perfect location daily cleaning fantastic view from room 66 merci bien!!!
Great location, dealy cleaning, fantastic view from room 66...merci bien!!!
Rooms were ok, bathroom were very clean. Good value for money.
Great location, friendly stuff.
Tiny room, not really clean.
Good location Staff helpfull
Breakfast very poor Room not soundproof Pictures on website are very old
Clean room, comfortable bed, helpful staff, lovely old feel to the building with interesting features.
Built before en suite facilities were the norm, the shower room had been 'carved ' out of the original room and was a little small for comfort.
Price does not correspond at all the quality they provide.
The location was very good, close to metro and the Open top tour bus stop was just across the road from Hotel. Sacre Coeur was a short walk away and the Moulin Rouge only 2 Metro stops or again a short walk away. there were some nice affordable restaurants close by and a small convenience store just round the corner which was open until midnight. I would use this Hotel again for a short visit.
The tv in our room didn't work and although the sheets were clean the bed covers were in need of replacing as they were worn and threadbare. We also had to ask for a bulb to be put in the light above one of the beds.
Great view of the Eiffel Tower & Sacre Couer.
The worst hotel bed I've ever slept on - had to use additional pillows to sleep on.
I had a good view of the Eiffel tower from my room (top floor)
Clean, but a bit musty.
As an older couple I found the hotel room small and musty smelling. The staff were excellent when we changed our reservation for another more expensive hotel. For a young traveller probably a good bet.
Location, friendliness of staff
Room was a bit tired. noisy fan in bathroom
Inexpensive in a great location a few hundred metres from Montmartre funicular. Traditional French hotel with no frills but breakfast (not included in the price) was quite good. Friendly, mostly English speaking staff. Good bar / restaurants nearby.
Pillows ridiculously lumpy, some noise from street and in hotel. Not a big problem for a party of male friends but might be for others. Bathroom very tired indeed and not spotless but still great value as long as you know what to expect. Would stay here again.
Proximity to Metro was great. Some good food choices near the hotel.
Teeny tiny, itty bitty elevator; Lots of street noise well into the night; my room was comfortable and clean, but toilet leaked water on e floor with each flush.
Is is right by a metro. The staff are nice and welcoming. good choice of places to eat near by. Lovely outlook.
The price has gone up a lot and very expensive for single travelers. I would expect tea and coffee facilities and a fridge for the price.
Cleanliness and helpful staff
tiny room and toilet
Staff were friendly and helpful and hotel was close to metro.
View to the Eiffel Tower and Sacré Coeur.
Toilet flush with no handle and bathroom was narrow.
We were given room 54, which has a larger bathroom with a tub. Hot water was plentiful. Our room faced a small courtyard, so although there was some neighbor noise, nights were mostly very quiet. Wi-Fi was reliable. The hotel has an elevator. The desk staff were friendly and helpful. We did not take advantage of the breakfast available at the hotel but picnicked or ate at nearby cafes. There is a big grocery store within a five minute walk, and a really good shopping street, Rue Des Martyrs, is also nearby. On Fridays, there is a street market directly in front of the hotel, next to the small park.
The bathroom could use a new shower curtain. A few things (toilet seat, shower mechanism, were partly broken, but usable). Pillows were flat (but there were two of them for each of us). Other than that, we felt Hotel du Square d'Anvers was a good value for the price.
very close to sacre coer, very close to the underground station Anvers. the equipment of the rooms was rather old fashioned, but functional and clean.
the breakfast "menu" is not very rich, but is well worth the good price of 8EUR.
Excellent location - metro station right next to it and moulin rouge is a walking distance Friendly and helpful staff
1- poor facilities, old furniture (not dirty but old - only a desk and a bed in the room) 2 - no safe 3 - not even a garbage bin the room 4 - no mini fridge
Very close to Metro made it easy to get to any of the tourist attractions. Rooms were basic but clean towels every day and room tidied I thought was good for a 2* rating.
This hotel is perfectly situated right at the base of the Sacre Coeur. Practically on the Anvers metro stop and within easy walking distance of Pigalle and Barbes-Rochechouart. Would definitely recommend this as a place to stay!
