The dust under the bed.
Booking.com said they will charge me a deposit upon booking. I find that confusing and just assumed that they did. but Tahar said they didn't charge anything and just took my credit card details as a guaranty in case I don't show up. Wise thing to do is to check with your credit card company if you were charged for anything before leaving home.
Another thing. Before arrival date, request them to clean under the bed. This is almost always one of the places full of dust bunnies, hairballs, cobwebs and small stuff left by previous occupants. Believe me, I saw it! And I bet the cleaning staff got some scolding from Tahar!
Very good location! Being along Champ Elysees, you have everything on this street. About 200 meters and you have the Monoprix ( supermarket ), taxi stand right outside the building. Walk towards the street and you see the Arc de Triomphe on your right. Restaurants and shops everywhere.
Apartment is fully equipped with a kitchen, washing machine/ clothes dryer, hair dryer, air conditioning, flat screen TV and fast wifi.
A few days before our visit, I received an email with details on what to do once we get there. I was given a name and phone number to call. that's what I did while riding the taxi on the way.
Tahar, the owner was there to meet us, he was kind enough to help us with our luggage, and oriented us on what we need to know about the apartment ( how to operate the machines, showed us where everything is, the password of the main door in case we get locked out after 11 PM, etc).
The apartment entrance is located inside a mall, then you take a small elevator to go up to 4th floor, walk about 100-150 meters along a carpeted floor, passing by several apartment doors until you get to the apartment. I think the whole building used to be a hotel. After a day of walking, it makes you feel like you're not getting there. The plus factor is that it's quiet at night.
The apartment design is modern, with several windows. A comfy bed, and a nice coffee machine. We appreciate that Tahar gave us complimentary coffee capsules to use on the coffee machine. Good coffee, he has good taste!
Ask Tahar anything about Paris and he will try to help you as much as he can.
He might look cold ( not smiling) at first but once you strike a conversation with him, then you will change your impression of him especially when he smiles. We enjoyed talking to him.
We will definitely consider Tahar's apartment the next time we are in Paris.
