Suite Novotel Montpellier    

The location and access to the city centre by tram and for exploring the surrounding area. Clean environment throughout. Breakfast although not traditional was actually very good with a good selection of products on offer. Please offer cups rather than mugs as an alternative for coffee and tea.

The concept of suite boxes is good but what you gain in space you lose in quality and finishing touches. The multimedia gimmick is a little disappointing with most of the music and movies available being a bit standard and basic. Our opinion, mostly suited to younger families and young couples.

we enjoyed the free films available in the room.

One of my sons cut his foot on a broken tile in the swimming pool. The reception gave me a first aid kit but essential items were missing and there wasn't even a sterile compress to stem the blood and clean the cut. The staff remained unconcerned behind the reception desk so I asked for the manager but no-one came (I was later told he'd left shortly afterwards and wouldn't be back until noon the next day). The rooms are hardly 'Superior Suites'. The furnishings are basic and cheap. The 4 star rating with higher than average prices misled us into thinking we would get a bit more than basic 2 star accommodation and service but this was not the case.

Clean modern hotel with large rooms. Nice swimming pool in pleasant courtyard. About 20 minutes walk to historic centre which takes you through super shopping mall, the Polygon. River adjacent with pleasant landscaping and walks. Montpelier is an interesting city and needs at least a two night stay.

Next to extremely busy traffic intersection, so noisy. Rooms rather bland. There are several closer hotels to city centre Parking expensive

Good value for money. The pool and the kitchenette.

Good location for city & airport shuttle (Navette). There are some good restaurants nearby on the canal banks opposite Place d'Europe

Room decor is a little dated & carpet badly stained.

It is in a great location and was good value for money. We had a pleasant stay.

Very easy access to the local airport by bus. A pleasant 15 minute walk to large shopping complex and old town including a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants. Relatively easy access to beautiful beaches via a 15 minute tram ride followed by 5-15 minutes onb a bus depending on which beach you chose.

Pool was a little small with only 10 sunbeds.Bar closed at midnight. I also though a 10 Euro parking fee was expensive.

Suites were nice and spacious, well decorated, well equipped and comfortable.

A really small thing was the small pool! But who needs a swimmingpool if your 20min away from the beach!!

Very good value if you avoid the rack rate. Go through booking.com! Avoid the ground floor apartments, as other guests will be sitting outside your window very close to your head when you wake up.

Fridge a bit small. No hotplates - only a microwave.

Most of the staff were extremely helpful with any questions we may have had. The room was a great design with the kitchenette present and separate bedroom and leisure area.

I was very disappointed with the attitude of one staff member on reception as I feel she behaved unprofessionally. I asked for some towels and she asked were they for the pool, I said no, they were for the beach and she refused to give me any. As we had gone to the beach the day before and had been given towels I was confused and told her this. She again said no, and told me to go and buy some beach towels! I work in customer service myself and the golden rule is always keep the customer happy. I should not be having an argument at reception with a member of staff, a compromise should always be reached. This did not happen. If giving towels for the beach is not part of novotels policy then fair enough, but this was not explained at check in. I was left feeling embarrassed, and this definitely put me off staying here again as I walked away upset, and with no resolution.

That they shut the doors to the garden area early evening - and that there are no balconies to the room. Even though there was a microwave and fridge there were absolutely no other eating/cooking utensils.

Very large room. Well equipped with microwave, fridge and kettle. Very good breakfast at a fair price. Nice outside area around pool, although pool is very small. Useful smart tv with internet access and free movies. Secure parking beneath hotel at reasonable price (euro 10 per day). Quiet room. Good aircon. Professional staff.

The hotel is located just a short walk from the old center of Montpellier. It was clean, cool (important in the hot summer) and the staff very helpful. We did a lot of walking from the hotel and we also did some day trips to the mountains. The locations for day trips was great. We enjoyed the hotel. It is good is you like to walk a little.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. They gave good directions when we were lost.They were able to recommend several good local places to eat.

The directions on the website were not helpful,as we couldn't see any street signs posted, and ended up on the other side of the city!
