Sophie and Veronique were excellent hosts. Breakfast in the garden was a delight (good weather) and the evening meal was excellent - as was the champagne! The room was spotless and comfortable, very quiet and we slept really well. We were ready for a rest and this break ticked all the boxes.
We felt we were just at the property to earn the owner some money she wanted 5 euros extra for each of the following cheese, meats or eggs, also you have to drive for 15 miles to find something to eat. We have travelled to Rome at Croatia and never been asked to pay any more it has always been included. We had booked for 2 nights but after being told we could not sit in a certain area of the garden (we were the only guests staying) plus more we could not get out sooner. We then said we would have to leave after one night however she then wanted an extra 40 euros making it 142 euros, dreadful. We then go on to Nyon and were looked after amazingly a host which was so helpful a breakfast with everything and a beautiful place and it was much cheaper. We have stayed at many guest houses but in our view this was the worst not because it was not clean but because if you run a business it should because you want too and hope you guests have a good stay.
Nice bathroom and swimming pool.
Wintercover in summer in hot room. Pay extra for eggs, chess and meat. Hairs in the bathtub.
Sophie went above and beyond to insure all our needs were met. Beautiful location, very relaxing, a great place to unwind...yet close enough to town for visiting, dining etc.!
Very welcoming couple.
A very contemporary set up. If you like washbasins as bedside tables, a bath at the end of your bed and the loo tucked away in a corner of the room with a sort of screen for modesty's sake than ok. We were 2 couples in our fifties, have travelled a lot with plenty of imagination, but this took the biscuit! The other room had a very nice ensuite shower, but again lacked privacy. Other major problem if someone was using the shower the hot water was immediately cut off if the other room decided to run the bath. Most unpleasant! It was fortunate that we as couples new each other so well! The rooms have a little sitting area with tv etc. where your breakfast is brought up to you in the morning. In it's contemporary way it was beautifully appointed, lots of imagination and attention to detail, which was touching. But most inappropriate. Again, seating definitely for the young! The couple running it were extremely nice, welcoming and willing, so much so we didn't have the courage to complain. On the plus side visitors are given a complimentary bottle of their own champagne, which happens to be the one that Aldi marketed so well this Christmas. Everybody in the region makes their own! An interesting experience but not sure we could recommend.
This is a wonderful place to stay while exploring the Champagne region of France. Very spacious and comfortable. We would go back there again and highly recommend it to anyone traveling that way.
Very friendly staff.
