We liked everything. such nice friendly people. The whole place is a credit to them spotless, comfortable and a great sleep. This is faultless as a place to stay we will be returning and advising our friend to stay here.
Beautiful house and garden. Lovely couple. Excellent breakfast with homemade jams incl. one made of courgettes! The pigioniere is almost finished and I look forward to visiting again.
Friendliness of the owners Breakfast with home made jams and cakes Surroundings "Viking" the Super-Dog Clean and Modern room
Wifi was a bit difficult to get outside the main building
Beautifully set-up. Real attention. To detail in decor, done by someone with an excellent eye for interior decorating. Shower, bathroom, bed faultless. Breakfast traditional French -croissants, jams, coffee, with little extra homemade by Sarah included. Run by lovely young couple who deserve their success with this venture.
Be prepared to travel outside the village for a meal.
We were treated extremely well even with the language barrier.
Certainly a small hamlet just be aware there are no restaurants so you would need to drive to the next town for a meal
Dinner and breakfast were both excellent, the rooms clean and comfortable, Herve and Sarah wonderful hosts and the kids loved the garden and adored the pets! We will definitely return and would happily recommend this hidden gem to others.
We had a wonderful one night stay here. The suite was beautiful and extremely clean; wonderfully fresh bed linen and a fantastic shower. The continental breakfast was lovely and Sarah, our host, was very helpful and patient as we spoke very little French. We would definitely stay here again.
Nice frendly staff. English not their stong point, but French isn't mine. Relly nice breakfast.
This place was beautiful, would never of found it without booking.com just wish we had longer to stay than just one night!! Would definatley go back.
Beautiful room in converted pigeon loft. We had dinner as it's in a small hamlet. Food excellent.
Unfortunately, Sarah and Herve weren't expecting us as we had cancelled a triple room and rebooked a double room and they thought that we had cancelled the full booking. That said, the double room was available and they couldn't do enough for us. Room was very clean. Bedclothes so fresh. Breakfast was a delight. Sarah available to top up the tea/coffee and juice. Wonderful gardens. Didn't take full advantage as we arrived late, having struggled through Paris on a Friday evening! Will definitely stay again if in the area.
Only small point to be aware of, payment is cash only. We had spent nearly all our Euros so a quick trip to the Cashpoint was necessary!
A lovely location if you plan on travelling to Amiens
Very few options for the breakfast
What an exquisitely beautiful room to sleep in and a thoroughly delightful place to stay, out in the country away from city life. Sarah and Herve, our hosts are very special people who made our stay, as brief as it was, pure magic. What truly delightful people. The test is always ... having been there, would we choose this accommodation? ... Absolutely! The next time 'though, we'd ensure we had a decent detailed map of the area so we'd not take quite so many wrong turns.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Sarah and Herve. We were made feel very welcome, our room was delightful - clean, comfortable and charming - and Sarah is a wonderful cook who put a great deal of effort into the meals she prepared for us. Guests probably need to be aware that Sourdon is out in the countryside so there are no shops or restaurants in the little hamlet. However, we would advise anyone to eat at Le Colombier! This was a peaceful stay in rural France, and an ideal spot from which to explore Amiens, Villers Bretonneux and surrounding areas. It is necessary to have a car in order to get to Sourdon. Thank you Sarah and Herve for looking after us so well. We would love to come back one day.
Very friendly, homely place to stay, spotlessly clean, and built and maintained to a high standard. Would recommend it to anyone. We had a 1 year old with us and he was looked after like one of their own children! If you are going anywhere near this area, stay here!
Friendly staff Very different room.....pigeon tower Breakfast filling
Many steps up......40. Not for elderly or those with dodgy knees
Sarah's cooking smelt wonderful, unfortunately we were all having stomach problems & could not enjoy her cooking. Good stop over accommodation.
Fantastic place from which to visit Australian War Memorial and sites in the Somme. Beautiful rooms and property, and lovely hosts.
Bit of a drive for supplies or restaurants, but we dined in and it was excellent.
Lovely building, well decorated and very clean - but no real customer care or attention for guests. All style with no substance of guest care missing - it may be that they are new to business - if so they have a great deal to learn and a reputation to build and protect.
Location is quite isolated from restaurants and other amenities and whilst it may be a new business as everything seems recently refurbished - but overall very disappointing - a lovely building but at present its really all style and no substance - They never made up room after first day. No clean dry towels provided - and when we asked stated it was unnecessary as it would spoil our discretion. I pointed out in correspondence that it is no fun having a shower and then having to try and dry yourself with a day old, used and still wet towel. An issue they did not address. They do have nice facilities but never described or invited us to use them. Also when you get into room there is a notice on desk stating very clearly that they only want cash payment - yet fails to give any details of their facility and your option to use them. If you arrive late at night there is no signage directing you to hotel nor any lighted sign outside. We had to knock on a door and ask a local where the establishment was. We did communicae this to them - and they did apologise but stated they did not provide a "classic" stay. The basics of cleaning, clean towels and proper introduction were not provided - these are essentials not classics. We did not book self cater. It is if as looking after the gusts basics needs are below their status. It was not cheap - and they seem to think it is not for them to provide basic service. We were told in e-mail that we were basically lucky to share their beautiful home. They have the basis of a very nice business - but their attitude towards guests and their needs must be addressed if they are to succeed. Not value and not a memorable stay for all the wrong reasons. Not like the image it gives on the booking site - we would not wish anyone else to experience this. In short out of our many hotels and trips to France we have never had to complain and this was a bad experience at the end of a very enjoyable holiday. experience.
Five star accommodation on a budget! Wonderful large stylish rooms, within a beautiful crafted converted barn. The owners attention to Guests was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble. Huge Garden that would lend itself to football and running around if you had children. The area was lovely and peaceful and quiet. Sarah's cooking was restaurant level and we ended up eating there every evening bar one! We are defiantly returning to this hotel.
Our favourite accommodation in France. What a wonderful place to stay. Sarah was a wonderful host. The room is spacious and clean with one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. Fast wifi. Fairly close to Australian war memorials. If you have the option of taking part in dinner and breakfast make sure you do it because the food is all home made and Sarah is a phenomenal cook. Worth every penny. Owner is Delightful to chat to as well despite language barrier.
Clean and pleasantly decorated. Very good beds and shower. The room price was very good and it was very quiet. Breakfast was typical french, bread, croissant with butter & jams and yoghurt. The current plans to add to new rooms in the Colombier (the old dove house) will make this a very unique place to stay.
The evening meal was tasty but at €25 overpriced for our feeling. Also I was hoping for a real french dish - instead we had a salmon pasta. The salmon was nice, but I missed having some great cooked veges or potatoes. I had read a recent review on this site that said it was €20 for the mel so the price must have increased in the last month. Since we drank only water with the meal, no alcohol, it would have been nice if they had reduced the price. But all in all a nice stay
