We stayed in superior rooms which can substitute rooms in 4 star hotel. The hotel is located close to the metro station and main attractions of Lyon. The hotel has a friendly staff. A small pool allow you to color you stay. We didn’t like thin walls and moderate breakfast. One small lift is not always sufficient for the whole hotel. A smell of an old hotel follows you in the rooms.

The location is perfect, it could not be better if you are on a city trip in Lyon. The staff friendly, the swimming pool is definitely an advantage. The breakfast is too pricy; one day the staff struggled with the amount of guests in the dining room.

I have to say Grand Hotel des Terreaux is the best hotel we stayed in France ever ! Location is excellent, close to Hotel de Ville metro. And there're numerous bus routes available nearby. There's a Franprix supermarket and a "genuine" japanese restaurant just opposite to the hotel. Famous restaurant street just several blocks behind the hotel. I have to say the location is so central that everything just around you ! Besides, the hotel also cloes to the bank so you can pass thru the bridge and walk to the old town and enjoy the beautiful view of the river & the old town. For the hotel itself, the double room is very spacious, very clean, side table & sofa chairs, working desk, wardrobe also available. Bathroom also very spacious with big shower room. Slippers also available for free. There's an indoor swimming pool &PC/ internet station you can use for free too. Last but not least, the hotel staff is extremely professional, friendly and helpful, highly appreciated that they offer such a lovely room for our anniverary. It's just PERFECT !

The location is great; near shopping and restaurants, and close to subway. Room was tiny, even by French hotel room standards. Not as clean as could have been. Staff was mixed; one woman was wonderful, but two of the men weren't friendly at all. Would not stay again.

My wife and I were seeking a hotel that looked and felt like France, not an Americanized ideal of France. The Grand Hotel des Terreaux was just what we wanted! And the staff were friendly, courteous, and helpful. The location was also great; so many cafes and shops surrounded the hotel. In one word: Perfect.

The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and exceptionally clean. The hotel is very centrally located close to the Hotel de Ville and in the heart of Lyon.

Very nice, big room with great bathroom w/ shower. Great mattress too. Excellent location too. And the furnishings were very nice. I wouldn't say the "petite dejeuners" are a bargain at close to $40 for two, but it is more convenient to eat in the hotel. We ate t and saved $25. No complaints with the hotel, less impressed w/ Lyon.

The downstairs of the hotel is very pretty. We liked the lounge, which is attractively decorated, and the indoor pool. The room was hot, as was the breakfast room. They gave us a fan, but it was still hot. So hot that we did not eat breakfast in the hotel because it would have seemed unappetizing. I thought that the hotel was advertised as being air-conditioned. In fact, only the hallways and the higher priced rooms were air-conditioned, and they were all full, so it was too late for us to purchase one at any price.
