Location, comfort 3 sun terraces
Housekeeping staff knocking & entering too quickly
The hotel is in a great location and staff were excellent
Bedroom décor offers great camouflage for unwelcome guests - we had a mosquito in the room one night and because of the bedroom décor it was hard to locate to remedy the situation
Specious room and bathroom
Overhead shower did not work, made use of hand held shower. Room was very dark, which made unpacking difficult
Service was perfect from arrival, attentive and friendly Room was amazing, roof top bar lovely. I travel a lot and this is everything a 5 star hotel should be. Concierge superb, amazing food and good facilities. The Savoy of Bordeaux with a more relaxed feel.
Excellent location - ideal for a special treat in what is a fabulous city
Beautiful hotel with class and elegance, in the city center, surrounded by great architectural buildings and good shopping options all around you.
Spa Breakfast Location
Very expensive Rooms are not very big
Love this beautiful hotel it's service and the spa. Highly recommend.
This luxurious hotel is in the perfect location for exploring the different areas of this magnificent city, and within minutes of lots of restaurants and cafes. There is a rooftop terrace for sipping cocktails and taking in the fantastic views. Could not recommend the hotel or Bordeaux more highly.
Location Staff Room Facilities
Very expensive 35 euros for parking!
The room was too small. Ceilings too low, was not possible to open the window
Location Comfortable bed Quiet
Mawkish decor Overpriced Everything an additional cost, eg. Bikes, breakfast Misinformation from concierge on many issues Bedroom so far from reception
This hotel is wonderful. The staff is very professional and treat guests as though we are the most important people they have met that day. Over the course of 2 weeks we have stayed a 5 hotels in France - all pretty good - but this hotel deserves every single one of it's 5 stars. Location is perfect, the foods was excellent, I could go back to Bordeaux just to stay here.
It is more part of the French culture, not a flaw with the hotel. Many of us tourists like to have COFFEE first thing in the morning. This was a bit of a struggle everywhere in Bordeaux, but I thought a high end hotel like the Grand Hotel would take a step out of routine for guests not from France. Yes, that is the absolute worst thing I can say about this hotel.
Nice big hotel. We had a weird weird room. Bathroom was split in two. The toilet was in the hallway area of room entrance. The shower and sink around the corner near bed. Not connected to each other. Strange
One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The spa is out of this world! Super comfy beds.Nice restaurant downstairs. Best location in Bordeaux.
Both times I stayed the wall shower unit didn't hold the showerhead well. Not the end of the world, but would've been nice to not have to hold it by hand.
terrace restaurant roof top bar location
rooms can be difficult to get to and are relatively small, but still very nicely decorated
Restaurant is very good
Fine hotel located right in the middle of Bordeaux.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location in the heart of old Bordeaux and in walking distance to museums, the river, shops and restaurants and the departure point for tours of the vineyards.
Not enough light in the bedrooms, making it difficult to read.
Location and room
Restaurant prices were exorbitant so se ate all meals elsewhere. Got stuck in the lift, very unpleasant and the staff could not have cared less and did not come when we rang the alarm bell repeatedly.
Location and staff excellent
Room too small and had to walk around furniture and spent long time getting wifi working my husband had to sit in foyer to do his business emails with computer on his lap !
Whilst the room was small it was stunning, and the overall atmosphere was very pleasant. Breakfast in our room was a little highlight , delivered in style and elegance. The concierge and all desk staff were also exceptional and could not have been more helpful or pleasant. I would like to return if the bar issues could be addressed.
The bar staff were not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. The bar man in the Orangery was abrupt, and then we were ignored by the bar staff on the roof terrace for 20 minutes so gave up, despite having been told they would " be with us shortly". We obviously did not fit his demographic of "beautiful people" to join in at his bar, as other guests were served who arrived after us. A shame and a disappointment before we left Bordeaux,as we had looked forward to a nightcap with the wonderful view as a parting gesture.
That was the most expensive 5-stars hotel what we wisited in Europe on our 4-weeks travel but feeting and service quite basic. 5-Stars' in Madrid, Rome, Barcelona, Monte Carlo were cheapper and better.
The concierge, the staff.
The room was very dark, and a bit musty. The sliding door and steps to the balcony were in the wrong way and very dangerous. The stairs need to be shifted around the opposite way. The outdoor restaurant was at best average quality food.
Loved staying. Perfect position and close to everything
