Hotel Angleterre  

Angenehmes, leicht zu erreichendes und ruhiges Stadthotel. Sehr zu empfehlen.

The Angleterre staff is very friendly, helpful, and professional. I have stayed at Angleterre twice for amost two weeks both times. The staff went out of their way to make my stay plesent. I have stayed at two other hotels in Grenoble and the staff at both those other hotels were very cold and almost rude at times. I think the staff an the central location are the best selling points for the hotel. The room is nice, it has free WiFi that is decent, it had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water throughout my stay, and it is close to the Tram and Bus routes.

The front desk staff was very friendly, spoke very good English and knew our faces quickly. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The location is excellent. Walk out the front door to enjoy shopping, only a few steps to the bus and tram lines. Close to Museum of Grenoble, cable cars to the Bastille, shops, cafes, restaurants. Esay walk or two tram stops from the train station.

The walls are very thin and not soundproof at all.

Room was so small had difficulty opening 2 normal sized suitcases. Trying to charge 13 € for breakfast was rediculous; I can get a 3 course lunch or simple dinner for less. No help when arriving and having to pull our 24 kg suitcases up a small stairs. We were given a room over a major noisy bus/tram interchange, so could not open window for fresh air- this was even besides the fact the hotel was nearly empty.

The helpful reception staff made us feel at home, the room was clean, had a kettle, and very good bathroom facilities

There was nothing that we saw that deserved adverse comments

It had character and was French. Loved the building and overlooking the square

The recommended car park had an extremely low roof, which was not mentioned in the information before we went. We had some difficulty parking on the streets.

The hotel is very well placed and well equipped, staff is kind and friendly.

Unfortunately the phonic insulation is very poor, so that the noise of the street is annoying a lot ! And on top of this, the creaky doors inside the room are disturbing the desired quiteness for a holiday !

It's location in the city centre, well served by public transport. Clean room large enough, being a hotel room. Friendly staff recommended an excellent brasserie, just what we asked for.
