P'tit Dej-Hotel Azay Le Rideau  

The location was brilliant, very central to the town and Azey-le-Rideau chateau without being noisy. Plenty of restaurants all around.

Our room was tiny - made even smaller by the division for the toilet & shower which had seen better days. The worst was that it seemed to be on the receiving end of every other room's drains so we felt we were living under Niagra Falls most of the night.

The reception called me in the day to see what time I was arriving they gave me the code to get into the hotel, very professional.

The room smelled really bad. There was a smell of mould, that bad that it woke me up in the night. I arrived in the night so there was no reception to change rooms. The bathroom was dirty, mens black hair on the walls and in the bath. The joints in between the tiles on the floor were missing, not clean at all. The bed was very old, it made a lot of noise everytime I moved. I was glad to be alone that night. Not a nice experience. I am not a picky person I have travelled in a lot of hotels all over the world and I think this is the 2nd time I have said negative things about a hotel.

The bed was uncomfortable and the shower was funky.

The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful to us. We had large and comfortable rooms.

Our bathroom had not been cleaned and the toilet was very dirty. During breakfast we asked for more coffee, the waitress took our cups, including someone else's, refilled them and then said she could not remember who's cups were who's. She put them on the table and walked away.

Our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 6pm.

Central location, reasonably priced.

Lack of air-conditioning and budget rooms seem to be tucked away in a warmer part of the building with poor circulation.

Typically French - very pleasant people. Basic, clean and tidy. We used it as a stop-over on return to England from South France and would use it again.

Because it was hot - could have done with at least a fan?

Location is great, very close to the famous Azay Le Rideau Chateau and local restaurants.

Our room looked like a former shop "converted" into a hotel room, with minimal furniture and the window didn't even had a curtain or shutter. The bathroom was precarious with no curtains/doors to separate the shower. The hotel didn't offer soap or shampoo either (luckily we had brought our own). I believe we were offered the worst possible room in the hotel. The bed was new and comfortable though.

1. The breakfast was hopeless 2. To reach our room we had to pass through a shabby passage way and through a 2 foot wide spiral iron staircase to reach attic and to carry our luggages ourselves with 3 little kids... there was no lift.

Centrally located, easy for access to the chateau. Reception very helpful with limited english. Breakfast a little disjointed but when sorted worth the money. Very comfortable beds.

It's located within a few minutes' walk from tha castle. The personnel was nice and I got a good price for the room, breakfast and supper (which was very tasty).

The parking is not next to the hotel, there is a free public parking near by. It's ok if you have a bag on wheels!

Aucun accueil, c est très désagréable. Je ne conseillerai pas cet hôtel. La chambre est difficile d accès: il faut passer par la salle du restaurant et ressortir pour y accéder.

La chambre familiale est très spacieuse. La décoration est simple mais jolie. La literie est confortable. Le prix est très raisonnable (78 euros) pour une famille de deux adultes et trois enfants. Le dîner était également très satisfaisant que ce soit le menu à 13.90€ pour les adultes (deux plats) ou pour les enfants. La qualité était présente dans les assiettes.

Un bémol: le petit déjeuner était sans prétention.

L'hotel est très bien situé, à 2 mn à pied du chateau.

Une odeur de cuisine dans l'hotel. Manque un ascensceur.
