Location, Location, Location Helpful, friendly Attendant
Noisy elevator with wide crack in which door keys felt in by mistake, impossible to retrieve Steps on the same fourth floor, not handicap friendly
you can't beat this place for its location.. right near the Metro Line 1 stop at Vieux port.. it is so convenient... all the touristy places are accessible on foot from here. The ferries to D'if and calanques depart from here.. loads of places to eat... nice shopping streets behind the hotel..the people at the reception are nice and warm (one gentleman even speaks Hindi, which was really impressive :) :) ). Our room didn't have any view.. but I didn't care much, because we spent most of the day outside. It was basic room, neat and clean. Usually they don't provide a hot water kettle.. but they did so when I requested, which was very nice. There is a McD right below the hotel.. so if you are not too sure where to eat, or feeling too lazy, McD will come in handy. If you are looking for a neat, safe, convenient place to stay in Marseille, I would recommend Grand Tonic.
They don't provide coffee/tea facility in their rooms :(
Lady on reception was nice, her only
The first room we've got did not have working amenities they write they have. In fact we had to change it. Jacuzzi did not work air conditioner either as well as the safe. One of the réceptionniste was quite rude. The price was too high for what they offer
It is good hotel with nice place, in the city center
wifi was poor on my Android phone.
location was great, small cosy hotel, good breakfast, good restaurant
The services was ver good indeed well look after I will come again to the hotel around Easter time for a london stay ,.
Helpful staff, immediate access to quayside activities, quiet rooms at the back (expect the port-view rooms might be noisy); excellent selection of restaurants in the immediate area
I absolutely loved everything about this hotel. The ambience, staff, cleanliness, comfort and whatever the hotel had to offer! My four nights stay was very very pleasurable :)
The rickety lift which got me scared everytime I got onto it. The lift would shake vigorously while in motion.
I like the location and the cleanliness. The hotel is right across from the main Metro station and the Old Port, surrounded by endless shopping, markets and restaurants. All sites are walking distance. The staff is courteous and helpful. The breakfast is basic but good.
I did not like the smoky smell in the room, perhaps coming from the carpet. We had a triple room that was quite small, though comfortable and clean. The air conditioner did not work. The wifi is strong and fast, but annoying because it keeps logging out every few minutes and I would have to reenter all kinds of information to log in again.
Frendly and collaborative staff at the reception. Good restaurant and excellent breakfast. Excellent location.
Forgetting doing our room one day.
Central location. Large room. I was very tired and slept well.
Room 501 had large extractor making a loud noise untill 10pm. damaged plaster on ceiling from roof leaking. no view. Pillows too large. Lift only takes you to level 4 therefore have to take stairs to level 5. Poor lighting.
The location is perfect, facing the port near the metro and other transport. Many good restaurants in the area.
Was not impressed with the choice of breakfast. When booked we asked for a room with port view, but instead we were accommodated in a side street room.
Friendly staff speaking perfect English Excellent location at the Old Port Room size is big Very clean Reasonable room rate
The elevator is big enough but can run more smoothly
The room was cozy. It was a nice set-up.
Wifi wasn't reliable as I thought. The toilet had broke and it took forever for somebody to come fix it. The tube wasn't clean and wasn't sure how to work the overhead showerhead. Wasn't enough light in the room.
Location, staff kindness, wifi.
It need to be refurbished to be a real 4 star hotel
Location, location, location! Very helpful and pleasant front desk attendants.
With location comes noise, noise, noise. But that's what ear plugs are for!
Location couldn't be bettered
A male staff member watched me struggle with cases. We had to ask to move rooms as the one we were allocated was really shabby and had a very unpleasant odour. We were made very uncomfortable requesting this change. The room we were given was also very shabby but had no odour. We also felt the common areas were dirty.
ideal location near seaport, clearroom.very good
In the heart of restaurants, tour operators and overlooking the old harbour. All staff spoke very good English. Housekeeping checked each afternoon that all was fine with room which was a nice touch. Although some aspects were old it added to the overall charm.
Room a little cramped and shower very difficult to access.
Comfortable room Fairly clean Well located
There was quite a serious leak in the bathroom the first night, so bad that I had to get a new room the next morning. No hot water, cold shower (!) in the morning. Had to ask for a commercial gesture the next morning for the inconvenience (was not offered it straight away, staff didn't seem to care) Moreover, staff seemed to know about the problem so wonder why I was given this room in the first place.
Didn't like it at all, terrible smell in room and in hotel as well, hotel needs reconstruction on my oppinion, i would never give it 4 stars.
