Position great. Clean and modern. We were greeted by chef who showed us to the "white" room, not the red bathroomed one noted on my booking confirmation ( and a main reason I chose the hotel as had seen photo of the illuminated bath) This room was already occupied as we, ourselves, had to point out. We then stood on stairs while she tried unsuccessfully to call the owner. This was not her fault as she was not trained as a receptionist, but she was thrown and did not know what to do. We were tired and by now quite stressed. I pleasantly suggested we move downstairs which we did. When after 30 minutes or more she eventually reached the owner his attitude and welcome was far from apologetic, or warm. We did eventually get a room, which was fine ( albeit not the one confirmed in writing by booking.com), but our stay was marred by our reception. We have stayed in many 4 and5 star hotels in Europe as we travel extensively. This one was overpriced for the service provided, and we will not return despite needing to stay overnight in the area around 10 times a year.

Easy walk into Beaune centre (3 mins) yet on a quiet road with no night noise, very good night's sleep. Minimalist decor, modern furnishings, tranquil room. (I think there are about 5 rooms total). Heard no other guests. Tea tray w/tea and coffee supplies. Stylish yet comfortable. Good quality bed linens. We did not use the spa on this visit. The proprietor is very friendly, but we only saw staff on arrival and check-out. They're there if you wish to seek them out, of course. Interesting art/design books (in french) are available downstairs for loan to guests. A magazine and map of Beaune were supplied in the room, but were dog-eared and out of date. No CNN/Euronews/BBC TV channels, i.e. no english-language news channels, nor Canal+, just standard package of France's TV channels. No private parking (street parking only) - ok for April, but Beaune gets packed in tourist season and that becomes a problem. No computer terminal/internet or wi-fi.

Very cool designer rooms with very comfortable beds and a lot of space. Bathroom was amazing with it's glowing sinks! Very quiet and relaxed, very private and a great location to explore the picturesque town of Beaune. We loved the place! Lack of mirrors in the bedroom, the bathroom ones mist up when showering. There are no curtains to keep the morning light from streaming into the room so you must remember to close the shutters (we didn't!). There is no front desk or reception, you do feel like your sneaking in though the back door of a restaurant. All are minor niggles, we enjoyed our stay very much.

The only thing we disliked was the narrow staircase leading to our room- there was no lift.

The owners were very nice and hospitable! Also, we had a great dinner and wonderful bottle of wine. The hotel is in a good location just a few steps from the inner city ... it was a very pleasant trip indeed! For breakfast they even got up a bit earlier than planned, fetched us fresh croissants upon just uttering the wish - Thanks for all!

Via Mokis was a true pleasure to visit. We stayed in the Rocco room I believe, top floor with a designer red suite. The room was spacious and well presented. It was easy to relax and spend time in the room without feeling cramped. The surprise element was the dinner served at the hotel. The food was absolutely divine and with the attentive manager at hand to provide guidance on the wine, the experience was excellent. Certainly worth the higher price tag. The hotel has 5 rooms which makes for a more cozy and quiet setting which suited us well as a couple looking for a relaxed break. We stayed 5 days and the location was perfect for looking around Beaune but also easy to take the train or drive (or even cycle) to nearby towns and villages. Credit to the hotel for ensuring that the luxury element that you pay for is maintained throughout the hotel. Only downside I would raise if I had to was that there was a damp smell in the stairway leading to the room which was not pleasant, and parking near the hotel was not always easy but those items didn't reduce the overall experience which by our account was fantastic.
