Villa Lara is a 4-star boutique hotel in the historic centre of Bayeux. It faces the 11th-century cathedral is is just a 2-minute walk from the Bayeux Tapestry. The luxury accommodation features period-style furniture, a flat-screen TV and a minibar. They have an individual colour theme using neutral tones and printed fabrics. Each has a private bathroom with a marble floor, bathrobes and slippers. A buffet breakfast of fresh pastries and hot coffee is offered every morning in the dining room. Very attractive and comfortable room close to centre of Bayeux. Secure parking. Helpful, friendly staff. I couldn't fault the hotel.

Beatifully appointed new hotel right in the centre of old Bayeux. We had fantastic views across to the cathedral. Right on the doorstep of the tapestry, cathedral and the high street. Secure, private parking at no extra cost. What more could you want? Absolutely nothing

Staff were very pleasant and welcoming. Room was spacious and very comfortable. Recommendations for dinner on both nights landed us at two places that were closed. We were disappointed that the staff were not aware of the schedules.

Absolutely the place to stay in Bayeux. We were upgrade to a suite which was beautiful, but noticed that the standard rooms well equally as lovely. Breakfast was excellent and reasonable...particularly when compared to hotels in Paris. This hotel should be first on your list when staying in Bayeux.

Villa Lara was very comfortable with most accommodating staff. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel is ideally located for the Overlord tour and Morgana recommended Rapiere for dinner and it was exceptional French fare. Nothing.

Concierge had 2 excellent restaurant recommendations which we walked to and enjoyed very much. Views from our rooms of the well-lit cathedral nearby were delightful. Breakfast room was charming. Service throughout the hotel was friendly and welcoming and thorough. Annoying recorded message inside elevator we could have done without. This is a very, very minor thing.

Very friendly reception staff. The room is in good quality and good design. It is easy to walk around this small town, and with beautiful scene, and it is facing the church. We even got upgrade to a junior suite. The breakfast is excellent. Thank you. Nothing

Everything! We stayed at the hotel briefly in September and were overwhelmed by the ambience of the hotel as well as the service, knowledge and courtesy of the staff. The hotel is positioned centrally in Bayeux and has a secure car park. The Bayeux Tapestry Museum is a stone's throw away, the cathedral is within easy walking distance as are all the shops and restaurants. When we returned recently for four days we were delighted to be able to book in at The Villa Lara. Anyone looking for a stylish, boutique hotel which combines the latter with old fashioned charm and care should choose this hotel. Nothing!

What a gem of a hotel! The rooms are elegant and beautiful. The hotel is located within walking distance of all of Bayeux's attractions. The staff is amazing. We are looking forward to returning!

The location was why I chose it. The hotel was better than I expected - modern but with a French twist. The only criticism is that it had no restaurant in the evening. Room service was limited. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was very comfortable. Lack of evening restaurant. The choice in Bayeux is not great!!!
