great location + friendly staff. short walk from convenient rocky coastal area where you can swim or sunbathe. close to mont boron park, if you like hill walks. can also walk a bit further to Nice main beach. next to bus stop for villefranche or Monaco + villages in between (only 1.50 euro). room was really comfortable.
Nice welcome smile Super clean Excellent location walking distance to center and excellent bus Quiet without tourist croud
Beautiful old house, loved our spacious bedroom plus small kitchen, and a very nice bathroom....the floor to ceiling windows opening up to the garden was truly lovely....all in a great location next to the port and old Nice----perfect!
Sorry to leave!
Proximity to port, centre of Nice and beaches on foot. I walked every day .( Bus can also be used with a bus stop on the street outside. Buses to Menton & Monaco on the opposite side of the street.) The 98 bus, to & from the airport, stops close by & a bargain at 6Euros.
My superior apartment with a balcony was great but with the shutters open the noise from the busy main road nearby was quite intrusive, especially at night. The management & owners of the villa ( very helpful father & daughter, Clemence) were lovely but I feel they should check on the guests & see they are settling in alright eg the day after. I think tea/coffee should be available.
street and air cooler a bit noisy
I stayed in two rooms, both comfortable. Comfortable is the best way to describe Ville Leonie. A restful place away from the Promenade but near enough for a walk. Good location for transport with buses outside the door for Monaco and a station within walking distance. Very near the port. Excellent service.
Extremely friendly & helpful staff, upon arrival Clemance pointed out all the better eating areas, Super market etc. we also had issues with our hire car, which Clemance helped us with. Thank you! Located very close to the Marina. We could see the ocean from one of our windows. Comfortable bed. Decent sized apartment. English news channels.
We had to leave...
The accomodation was beautiful and we were made to feel very welcome. Villa is a short walk from restaurants and some small beaches. It was so nice we extended our stay.
Lovely elegant villa with Belle époque charm situated in a pleasant garden. We stayed in two appartments: one a one-bedroom with lounge/kitchen and a stunning terrace. Good kitchen with washing-machine and slightly noisy fridge. The other a two-bedroom without the terrace but with three very nice rooms. Friendly helpful staff and very clean.
Nice, friendly & clean 5 min walk from the port & 10 from old town. Very comfortable
This is a special place, in an excellent location near the sea and near the old port. Clemence and the staff are really helpful and friendly.
Occasionally the traffic noise from the nearby road is disturbing.
The location is great. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The room was cleaned meticulously every day. The room was superb in size and space!
The room is a delight in daytime, flooded with natural light. However, there are no light-blocking curtains, which means the room was full of light at 6am. On holidays I don't always want to get up that early!
Attractive building, clean room, good quality bedding. Not far from old port.
Lack of personal service, in fact there was none as we did not meet one single person for the two nights stay apart of glimpse of a cleaner. Traffic noise.
The villa is nicely located, on walking distance from the center, but outside the real noise and hubbub. The staff is attentive and very helpful, even getting some construction workers next door to put a dust cover on my car. The rooms are nice and there's a lovely garden. There's daily housekeeping, making it almost more like a hotel room than an apartment. The wifi allows more than one device at a time.
Can't really think of anything.
Helpful staff and people
This is a beautiful place to stay: -full of original details (terazzo and mosaic floors, original carved doors, furniture, bathroom tiles, frescoed ceilings, French windows). Don't miss the doors and chandelier on the first floor -very clean and well serviced -great location (the bus stop in front of the villa will take you anywhere - eastward to Villefranche, Beaulieu, Cap Ferrat, Monaco and Menton, westward via Place Garibaldi to Antibes, Cannes, Grasse, St.Paul de Vence, etc). -don't miss the immediate area - go down rue Gustavin to find many other beautiful belle epoque villas, unforgettable coastal walk and residences on Mount Boron - villa's garden - makes you feel like you're coming back home every evening. Find the cast iron gryphon in the garden:-) -Hosts are helpful, charming and discreet people. This was a great, 11-day stay, and a rare occasion to live inside a villa we usually only look at from outside.
-I liked everything
It was run by a nice family . They are helpful and friendly. The villa is close to the port of Nice and convenient to shopping, dining, and museums . The street was easy to navigate by foot and well known to taxis.
1- Proximity to Old Town 2- Easy access to main town and adjacent villages
No one at reception most of the times.
Very friendly and helpful management. House decoration belle epoque - well converted into appartments. Hotel security very good. Five minute walk to the old port and boulangerie. Easy pubic bus connections to gare SNCF
Bit too close to the main road. Repairs to old furniture should have been carried out when we were out of the room rather than when we were having breakfast!!
Our hostess at Villa Leonie was delightful and helpful. She was happy to answer any questions and gave us a lot of advice about buses, activities etc.
Villa Leonie states it is elegantly furnished and given the buildings age and price to stay you would expect time appropriate furnishings. Our apartment was on the ground floor and was furnished in a hotch potch fashion with mis matched pieces, and all of the kitchen furniture old, and in poor condition. The room was damp with mould on the ceiling in the bathroom. There were no mosquito screens, and this became an issue every night at dusk. The halls of the house were cluttered with junk as was the communal living room. The garden was lovely but the pepple ground covering ensured every time someone entered the yard my husband & I were woken. The actual house is stunning, but the owners would be wise to decorate it cleanly and honour the heritage. It is also located a good 25 minutes walk from the main area of Nice which we found to be an issue after a long dinner. In its current state I wouldn't recommend Villa Leonie, but it has potential to be lovely.
A wonderful location - about 5 minutes from a small and relatively quiet beach and a pleasant 15 minute stroll along the sea front into the old town. The welcome couldn't have been warmer and the room was very comfortable and clean. Being able to sit in the lovely garden to read and have breakfast was a real added bonus. If we return to Nice we will gladly stay at Villa Leonie again.
Very friendly staff, warm welcome, good location in Nice, charming atmosphere of an old villa with old furniture. Good cleaning and well equipped.
Our appartment (#1) in the souterrain was well equiped, but unfortunately some of the old furnature provided an unpleasant smell, and especially in the bathroom many traces of black mold were to be seen and the smell was somehow present in the whole appartment.
