Charming staff: very polite and helpful. Very clean room and bathroom. Excellent location in reasonably quiet street. Lovely lounge, books everywhere for clients to read, pretty garden.
Rather expensive breakfast : lots of things ran out and the girls were a little slow to replenish. Lack of soundproofing, so we were woken by next door's alarm clock and could hear every word from their room. Check out on Sunday was delayed as staff not available until 0830 and breakfast staff had difficulty in calling a taxi.
Location is excellent.
We stayed in the economy double room/ semi basement. I would not recommend it. It is far too small for two people. The bathroom is very tight & difficult to negotiate.
Great hotel close to beach and train station.short stroll to old town Staff very help full would stay next time in Nice
Having to leave Nice
very nice staff who speak several languages; very good atmosphere
during one (of 3) nights it was a bit noisy outside
Small hotel, restful ,pleasant staff
Got an older room...addressed this at desk...be mindful there are different classes of rooms when booking...sounds obvious but there's a difference in style.
Very French hotel with family feel. Excellent location right near the sea front. Reception very helpful with tour /transport details.
Initially booked a room styled as semi basement. Did not like as had only 2 small top windows. We were able to change the next day at an additional cost.
Bed not comfortable Room very small Staff not very friendly No help with luggage
very basic rooms
Villa Rivoli is nicely located 2 blocks from the Promenade des Anglais, near the Hotel Negresco. It's exactly what you are looking for-- well located but not as expensive as the hotels right on the beach, which are also closer to the traffic. The staff, and particularly the owner who is onsite most of the time, are pleasant and helpful.
Loved the convienient location and charm of the place. The staff was very helpful too.
Our room and bathroom were very small even though we booked the superior room. Would hate to imagine what the less expensive rooms were like.
Great location as not too far to walk from railway station and very close to beach. While we did feel like we were living in have a hole in the ground, the room was lovely and quiet and air conditioned. Good wifi. Helpful staff.
No hair dryer
A very cute little hotel. Staff was very nice, location very good and breakfast also very nice.
The hotel is close to everything. The service was excellent and staff spoke very good English. The French decor and spottlessly clean room made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. Great value for money.
Nothing a lovely place to stay
Service, and rooms are very nice. Location is also great
Parking space is not the greatest.
Excellent location close to the Promenade. Staff helpful. The owner greeted us at breakfast, doing the rounds. Quiet bedroom
Too many interns or untrained staff, lacking assurance. The room was the main problem. It was basement room. There was mold on the bathroom ceiling. I had asked for a double, but was given a twin. Bedside lamps a real danger, as the naked incandescent bulbs are inches away from your face when reading in bed.
Central location and easy access to the sea and all the tourist attraction. Friendly staff.
The semi-basement room was quite small, with tiny bathroom. The sound isolation was not perfect, we could hear all our neighbors. The hotel parking is quite expensive (18 euros/night), but I guess it's normal for Nice.
Location was pretty good and cost was good compared to other options.
Basement room and there is also no lift (although we did know that going into it! So not complaining!!).
Hotel was nicely decorated with nice lounge area for a quiet drink on an evening. Location was good for the promenade but a bit further out for main tourist spots but still in walking distance
The bed wasn't particularly comfy and I struggled to sleep well, this may be personal preference though as it was quite hard. I came back on my second night to find the maid had not only left my room unlocked but my door clearly open - not impressed!
Good central location but back enough from the really busy beachfront. Nice historic look and feel to hotel. Friendly, helpful staff who spoke good English. Good breakfast, in lovely breakfast room, with option of outside in garden, if you don't mind smokers.
Basement room too small for 2 people. Bed not long enough, I am short and my ankles were hanging off the end of the bed. Bathroom too small, kept banging elbows and no vanity, just basin, so had to keep going back and forth to bedroom to get things and take back to bathroom. Also, no plug in sink, so my husband had to shave with water running.
The staff will do everything they can to make your stay pleasant.
close to the beach and central part of nice. staff was somewhat helpful a quiet place but(see dislikes)
price the same as much better hotels at beach paid parking, which was too small and had to book and pay in advance for. since we were new to booking.com we didn't know how to book parking we were left without. luckily, there was a paid parking just across the street with much better parking facility. we ended up paying less... bathroom closet seperated from withshower. small shower with a window facing the street (really?) no elevator. hotel was hard to find even though it's close to a central area. location is a bit of a problem - though very central one of those places which lay next to the main street but are shady at night... no actual help from staff planning our trip walls are not that sound proof all in all ,an OK place to spend the first night but for the price, we expected something much better and when returned to nice just went for a hotel on the beach
Wonderful hotel. Room was perfect and the garden a real bonus. Staff friendly and helpful. Excellent position for shopping and eating. Short walk to beach. Would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
Small rooms Small bathroom
Perfect location in a few blocks from the sea and old city. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel and rooms are decorated in very cosy french style.
Since we are two very thin girls for us the size of the room and shower was not a problem, but for a bit bigger people it can be not very comfortable.
The front of house staff.
