Location, food, parking
The employees were could be a little bit more friendly.
Ideal position for our return from Spain being only 2.5 hours to St Malo. Atmospheric setting by river, weir and ruins.
Not enough time to explore! Took last place in Car park which I think is too small for the potential number of guests. Each time we have stayed have taken last space, maybe next time not so lucky- then where to go?
Great location; nice 1st floor room (no.17) with balcony and stunning view of castle and river. Good value for money and very helpful staff. Pleasant, informal bistro style restaurant with very decent food.
The location of the hotel is just great with the view on the old castle and the river. Room beautifully decorated.
Only one minor point - slow service in restaurant
Everything, space, comfort, facilities, food,
We had a superior room with a balcony and a lovely view over the river and part of the old town. The spacious room was immaculately clean and the bed very comfortable. WiFi was good and parking for our car excellent.
The restaurant. We prebooked a table for our evening meal which, because it was a very warm evening, we chose to eat on the terrace. When we arrived there was a party of 12 already seated and being served. We were shown to a table and given a menu. We did not want a starter and only one of us wanted alcohol so we ordered a half bottle of wine and a bottle of water which were duly brought to the table. At this point we ordered our main course which we understood would be cooked to order. While we waited the party of 12 ate 3 courses and enjoyed the attention of most of the waiters. We were ignored for 60 minutes until our barely cooked rib of beef, accompanied by some undercooked potatoes swimming in butter and a small bowl of dressed lettuce arrived at the table. A waiter carved the beef and gave all the lean edible meat to me and the fatty inedible part to my partner. We shared the meat from my plate and left the majority of that which had been offered to my partner on his plate. By now night had fallen, the temperature had dropped and we were cold so we decided not to wait for a desert.
Stunning position on banks of river. Wonderful lighting of hotel and Chateau at night. Good sized rooms and well appointed. By todays standards not overpriced.
Some of the staff were excellent with a special mention of Sebastion who looks future manager material and a great guy. The younger girl staff tried with speaking English. Two of the middle aged female staff were horrible.........arrogant and unhelpful. One refused to request a steak well done and was difficult about it. Whatever you may think about well done steak in France, I know I was paying the bill.....need I say more. These odd staff spoiled a near perfect stay and a review by the management would do a lot of good for Best Western.
They did not give Best Western points because I booked with Booking.com Big argument but not with actual hotel - more question of Best Western policy.
Able to have a meal after travelling without going out. Free water in the room. Being on the river was a good view.
The toilet seat in our room was far too high my wife's feet only just reached the ground on tip toe so not very comfortable. The breakfast's at the hotels in France are expensive which is a shame. On the menus they should tell you that you have no potatoes with some of their dishes.
Excellent location right on the river with a wonderful view of the old town.
Staff were a bit cold. The young man who booked us in was really nice but the rest of the staff were not...
Lovely hotel central to Clisson. Really excellent restaurant for evening meals.
Room a bit small
The staff need some 'roundness' they do the job well but lack a human dimension. They also need to petition the town council to prevent dogs fouling pavements - its quite a shock to bring dog mess in on your shoes and have your young daughter crawl on the carpets in the bedrooms
Location, accommodation, helpful staff, good car parking: secure and close to hotel, lovely views from rear terrace.
Service in restaurant was slow when busy. Our impression was that there wasn't enough staff in the kitchen. There appeared to be sufficient serving staff but they were not well organised.
Location and food
The view from our attic room was stunning. The room and especially the bathroom were tastefully decorated. Fantastic!
The hotel tough small was really sweet, simple clean rooms and bathroom, fantastic view, great location in historic part of town. The staff were more than helpful,we enjoyed our stay very much, and it was close to puy du fou as we'll!
wonderful attention to detail from the maître d at the restaurant who looked after my dietary issues with excellence.
Front staff were excellent. Hotel inc rooms spotless!!excellent location to Clissin. Fab breakfast!!
Food in restaurant mediocre , much room for improvement
Location, standard of room and food all met or exceeded our expectations. Probably one of our best stays in France.
You'll be hard pressed to find a lovely hotel in a better location - beautiful
The staff were not very welcoming or friendly compared to other hotels we have used but perhaps that's just the French way
Wonderful location. Good room which was kept clean. Very good choices for breakfast and a good atmosphere. Used the restaurant once for dinner and it was very good with a varied menu.
Reception staff had a poor attitude to guests at times. Unfriendly, not welcoming and often sharp. This was in contrast to the very good attitude of the bar and restaurant staff which were always very happy and helpful.
The homely and friendly atmosphere, the swimming pool and restaurant.
Short distance to puy du fou Clean quite rooms well appointed
Reception staff a little unhelpful
