Excellent and helpful staff, Good location
Small room size
Clean, good breakfast and staff were very friendly
friendly staff location : near the beach
many mosquitoes in the room
The hotel was close to the airport but with little airport noise. It was convenient to the centre of Nice, a bus stop just down the road for 15 minute journey. Very good breakfast served in a lovingly tended garden which was the real highlight of the hotel. The owner was friendly and helpful & although his English was limited he bravely tried to help in whatever way he could. We liked the quirkiness of this hotel and its personal feel.
The first night we were given what we could only describe as an overflow room, very tiny, bed against the wall and no headboard, not in the least suitable for anyone not very agile.Ensuite was also extremely small. We were told there had been a double booking and the second night we were moved to a proper room which was very well appointed. We were told this wouldn't have happened if we had not booked through Booking.com. Wherever the fault lay it didn't get our vacation off to a good start and no rebate was offered. With the language barrier it would have been difficult to negotiate in any case.
Hotel Villa Victorine is ideally located : not far from the airport and from the train station, and nearby buses to the city center or to other cities. There is a beautiful and peaceful garden where you can take a generous and varied breakfast. Rooms are pleasant and very clean. And, last but not least, the owners are very welcoming, ready to listen and really concerned about the well-being of their guests. I'll keep a very good memory of my stay in Nice !
The owner Raphaella was extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. The room was bright and airy and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was to die for, I haven't seen such a fabulous spread anywhere else in the world which included a bottle of Champagne should the mood take you, but unfortunately we were flying home that morning, so we didn't avail of this perk! Breakfast was served in the garden but they also have an indoor dining area in case of inclement weather. The garden area is also an ideal place to sit with a bottle of wine in the evenings. I can highly recommend this Hotel and would definitely stay here again.
The lack of parking facilities was a huge problem. We actually decided to take our hire car back to the airport a day early and took a taxi to the airport instead which is what I would recommend. Also, there are not very many restaurants in this area so I would recommend that you take a taxi to the main area of Nice if you want to dine out.
Location, breakfast, Vitorio the one and only - he's an example for hospitality. Good air condition . Excellent wifi !
Bathroom very narrow
Location, lovely private garden, excellent breakfast, helpful people.
Single room a little tired; hallways being renovated.
Hospital and caring staff. Wifi very good. Cosy garden terrace :-).
Nothing, more or less as per expectation.
Close to the Boulvar, walking distance to the center Very friendly host Beautiful design, really nice place
Noise (close to the airport), but fortunately we had quite good windows. Moreover, it's not on the main street and planes were the only source of noise
Great staff who welcomed us and allowed us to book in early. Very knowledgable about local amenities and buses. Fabulous bed to sleep in. Very clean nice bathroom(Albeit small).
Our room was very small and claustrophobic at the front entrance way so had to keep curtain shut to have privacy.
Great location for the airport, a small guesthouse with a lot of character and friendly staff. Good air-conditioning.
The booking.com website says all rooms have a work desk, although my room didn't have one.
Very pleasant staff with a very welcoming manner. One of the best hotel gardens I have had breakfast in.
Excellent breakfast, helpful friendly staff. Close to the airport but the room was quiet and the garden is delightful. The LED ollumimated showerhead was… Surprising!
In our room the air conditioning unit was effective but very noisy. We couldn't get the Wi-Fi to work effectively, but this was not a deal-breaker
The owners were incredibly attentive and the breakfast was delicious. A real find - an oasis and we will be back.
Amazing Breakfast, kept us going all day. Bucks Fizz was a real treat. Friendly staff/proprietor. The terrace. Free wifi. Just able to walk into town, further than expected though. Pleasant walk. Got really lucky with a parking space right outside the entrance.
Very small room, but we were only there for one night.
Our host was very kind. Brought chocolates to our kids and asked several times if we needed anything. Beautiful garden to relax away from the city. Great breakfast. Very clean. A good value.
The parking situation was kind of weird, playing musical cars and had to leave keys at front desk. We tried to walk to a place for dinner but couldn't find anything nearby really as we walked along this end of the promenade. The family room was tight but we only stayed one night so it wasn't that big of a deal.
The lovely garden where we had every breakfast and 2 dinners we brought back was the highlight of our stay. The people were so kind and helpful! We really enjoyed the place.
The room was small and we had air conditioning issues, but everything was taken care of after being reported.
The 'garden' in the courtyard was stunning. A haven. We could eat outside in sun or shade-peace and tranquility amid the hustle and bustle of the world outside. On bus route to airport, shops close by, beach close by. Breakfast was an amazing array, with champagne! Service impeccable. Very clean, pristine rooms. Homely and welcoming. Superior room more than worth the extra.
Cheaper room was cramped. Tiny shower. Would not recommend no.4
The hotel staff, the hotel itself
The location is a bit far away from the tourist area, so if you are taking public transportation, need to be back early. Otherwise, need to be careful when taking a taxi. Better ask the hotel front desk about the best way to get back before you leave.
Great location, beautiful garden, lovely breakfast, attentive and considerate hosts - superb.
The gardens were beautiful.
There wasn't an elevator and the stairs were narrow. No help in the morning getting our luggage downstairs. No phone in the room. We received an international call and the owner had to bring the portable phone to our room. Room too small for even two people with luggage. No restaurants nearby. Did not feel welcome- everything was an effort by the owner. The other gentleman on staff was extremely polite and friendly--- he was only there in the morning. We had an early morning train to catch but the breakfast buffet did look and smell wonderful. The only plus we could see. There weren't any decent restaurants close by--- we ended up eating at a very low end pizzeria on a very busy main street. After a 6 week stay in Europe it was the worst and was a horror. The room price was doubled due to the Races in Monaco.By the price when we booked we expected far more. It was the last hotel room in Nice when we booked . It should be called a Bed and Breakfast or a guest house; not a hotel.
Very nice hosts, very helpful and kind. Garden is spectacular! Also very good breakfast buffet.
Those guys really took care of us while we were sick. We felt right at home, getting tea and things like that.
