location, friendly staff
the furniture was a bit worn out.
their willingness to solve problems in the booking (the booking.com communication in relation to the booking did not include the requirement of separate beds - so they gave us a free room until one which had separate beds could be gotten)
The "aroma" of the place and the breakfast
excellent location, two nice restaurants just across the street, walking distance to saint Michel and Notre Dame, friendly staff (willing to help and provide you with everything) beaudiful decoration, definately going back!!!!!
Great location, very hospitable stuff
A bit too old forniture
Staff friendliness, convenient location.
quality of room was weak. The lift was noisy and it made sleep a little difficult
On the first night, the hotel staff had to move us to another hotel due to "technical issue". They paid the taxi fee for both trips, and they gave us a huge room in the new hotel.
Upon checking the receipt, the room rate for the first night is about 30 Euros more expensive than what we booked. Also they double charged the city tax for the first day (paid once at the new hotel, another time when we check out). Then for some reason they did not include last day's breakfast and we had to pay 18 Euro for it.
Good clean hotel, excellent location, 10 minute walk from Notee Dame. Great choice of reasonable restaurants close by. Helpful staff
Wooden floors and thin walls might bother some more than me.
The People from the Hotel are very nice. The Breakfast was very good.
Inspire of the hotel overbooking they were able to accommodated a in another hotel for a night before paying for our return and compensating us with a superior room and free breakfasts. We have styled there before and will do so again
Really the location is excellent. On the other hand, thats not clear enough whether the value is accurate.
The location couldn't be better: right in the middle of the Latin Quarter; only five minutes from Notre Dame; in walking distance from the Marais and even from the Louvre. Lots of good restaurants nearby. The hotel is in a quiet spot and is internally quiet. The Wi-Fi is free and works fine. The surrounding neighborhood is lively but safe.
The room was a little small, but not by European standards.
No 4 star, needs renovation. Old room decoration and furniture worn out
Perfect location Wifi worked very well Shower very clean and worked well Safe in the room (could fit ipad, allthough too small for the laptop)
Weird scottish-themed decor. Not what you expect when visiting Paris. Could do with some refurbishment Room very small, which isn't helped by the somewhat "overcrowded" decoration / wallpaper of the room. Our room was not well insulated (noise from elevator and shower / toilet flushing from other rooms woke me up a few times
Room was ambient, and very close to reception (No.111). Was also quiet. Not very far from metro, (7 minutes walking time from St Michel station and 9 minutes from Luxemburg station). Staff was english spoken.
Overpriced breakfast and the hotel in general, like most of the hotels in Paris during a big fair period.
The location was great and the staff were better than most you deal with in North America. The room was small, but adequate, and had everything one would need. Very clean room that was tidied every day along with the sheets being changed. Would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a great location with amazing staff and a comfortable place to sleep after a day of sightseeing.
The wall and ceiling were coming down in the bath/shower due to moisture issues. About a 2'x2' square on ceiling and similar on the wall were mushy and falling into the tub. Not ideal, but the shower was on the other end, so it didn't really affect us.
Small rooms and wi fi was erratic
Location, friendly front desk staff, quiet room if windows closed (even though facing the street), reasonably clean. Showers and bed pretty good.
Rooms are small and a little worse for wear. Lobby/bar seem pretty shabby, but probably par for downtown Paris. Only public parking available, and it's expensive.
Location was perfect with city centrum within minutes walking!
Breakfast was not good, very simple!
The location is very good. A dignified four-star hotel. A bit on the old-fashioned side, but that is part of its charm.
The staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfy. The location, for what we like in Paris is unbeatable. Close proximity to the Pantheon, Notre Dame, the Jardin du Luxembourg and the excellent metro system. We have also stayed at Montmartre and Montparnasse but the Latin Quarter just edges it for us.
The breakfast is on a buffet basis is all very good but expensive. you could however use one of the excellent local restaurants for a 'formula breakfast'
Staff, cleanliness, value, location
Bar not open in August
location is amazing and room was big, very quiet and private
This is not 4 star hotel. The room was big, but 3rd bed that was organized wasn't the real bed but something constructed after we got to the room and asked about it. There were no tea/coffee making facilities, something that is the must in even better 3 star hotel. In general, facilities, cleanness and experience with rudeness of some members of staff (even if few members of staff were very nice) made all of us feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. And it is not because this is Paris and standard is different. I've been traveling to Paris since 1999 and stayed in different 3 and 4 star hotels in the same area. I had better experience (facilities/cleanses/stuff) in the several 3 star hotels near this one. The only reason we basically stayed is because we paid the full amount before seeing the hotel/room, believing that it is good value for money.
-Close walking distance to Notre Dame and Maubert train station. -Staff were very kind and friendly (assisted us with emailing a document). -Good restaurant next door.
- Room was small. -Located on loud street.
Service was excellent, very helpful indeed
Price but expected in Paris
This is a not too expensive hotel and is ideal as a base for exploring the surrounding area: St Germain de Pres, Pantheon, Luxemburg Gardens, Notre Dame, Isle de St. Louis etc.
Though there is a bar in the hotel, it never seems to be open
