The Villa Royale, at the foot of the Sacré Coeur and 2 steps from Montmartre, has dedicated its décor to the world of the arts. Its Rococo design and Neo-Baroque atmosphere pays tribute to Parisian and international celebrities. Rooms are named after French cultural icons, evoking a spirit of style and charm. With an unobstructed view of Place Pigalle and just 3 blocks from the Moulin Rouge, this opulent boutique hotel offers plush, colorful, jewel-toned interiors in a vibrant area of Paris. The Villa Royale offers a breakfast room, a lobby lounge with full bar service, complementary newspapers and magazines, and small meeting rooms. As it is close to the Metro, guests have direct access to many famous sites such as the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre and the Opera house. Or, stay close to the hotel and discover the area around the Sacré-Cœur and Montmartre, where the streets are lined with original boutiques, markets, cafes, and, restaurants frequented by locals. This hotel could do with some maintenance (i.e. buttons falling off upholstery in elevator, dirty sky light). Overall we were pleased with our room, except that it was very windy that night and our fireplace made a racket all night long that prevented us from sleeping. When we asked the front desk about it, they promised to have someone look at it the next day. It's hard to believe we were the first people to ever experience this problem! The location was a bit downmarket, but the rooms are very well sound proofed so we weren't bothered too much by the noise when the sex shows close around 2:30 every morning. I'm sure we would have paid double the price to have the same hotel in a better neighborhood, so all in all we were satisfied.

Location is quite good. Would never choose that place again and wouldn't advise it to any of my friends. Pictures are way better than what it really is. Most definitely not a 4star hotel in terms of everything.

We liked the individual nature of La Villa Royale - shades of Madame Pompadour with excess buttoned red velvet lining all the doors! The rooms are quirky - named after famous persons; we stayed in John Lennon on the 4th floor. All the plumbing works; smallish room with comfortable double bed; windows which open. Lift to all floors. We stayed 2 nights and found staff helpful and friendly - despite our bad French. Situated only 100mts. From Pigalle Metro station and plenty of decent eating places nearby. Walked up into Montmartre & Sacre Coeur - down to Lafayette. Very convenient location. Monoprix opposite hotel. Interior gives effect of faded glory but would happily use the hotel again. Did not use the restaurant facility - found places nearby for that. Would have appreciated some provision of drinking vessels other than cheap plastic disposable glasses (single use) which readily tipped over. No English TV available on any channel - deep disappointment.

The staff were very friendly and they were very helpful And understanding. Great location just beside pigale metro station with all facilities around. Room cleaning is fair The price is a bit high compared to the services it offers. But it's within the range of all the hotels in that area. Sometimes it's noisy outside because of the bars and clubs outside especially in late hours.

The room style was great - like a lush bordello. On arrival we were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room with a jacuzzi, which was very fun. The hotel is 1 minute away from Pigalle metro station, which is handy. The hotel is located in the sex district of Paris, approximately one minute from a brothel and the Sexodrome sex shop... Which is actually quite funny. But there were some really shady characters around at night.

Great location opposite Metro station and close to Sacre Coeur and surrounding Montmatre. Jacuzzi bath was awesome. Bit frayed around the edges needing a bit of a facelift. Didn't realise before booking however, is surrounded by Parisian versian of Soho. Little embarrassing for my wife and me being with her. Air conditioning was knackered. We turned it off but still woke up with very dry mouths and ended up feeling a bit ill.

It is boutique hotel with fantastic decor. Rooms have names rather than numbers. The atmosphere is very flamboyant and very french Not that I care but some may... Wifi is only available in the lounge, there are no coffee machines in the rooms.

Walking into our room was like stepping onto a set out of Moulin Rouge. We wanted a true Artistic Parisien experience and we werent let down. It was very romantic and quirky at the same time. Nothing was a problem for our hostess even guiding us to some of Montmartes finest restaurants. Our Spa leaked all over the floor on our first night and we were upgraded to an equally cute room without any fuss at all. the metro is literally 50 meters away. We had a beautiful view of the Basillica and we hardly noticed the noise at all. Id definetly stay again and recommend to anyone wanting something out of the ordinary. Not suitable for families or people who may be a little bit snooty. You need to appreciate the area for what it is. Its definetly a part of what makes Paris the city of Love

It is a very individual hotel with total attention to detail. A joy to stay in from beginning to end. Always something to look at and very sumptuous. I think breakfast could be improved on.

Excellent location and the rooms are funny, brothel like. So much different than other -regular- hotels. Very small ( tiny) rooms, kinda old and rusty, the sparkling has gone and needs some refurbishing.

The location is very poor - sits on the 'famoius' Place Pigale. Opening windows at night is not possible - too noisy. People are shouting on the street all night - nobody seemed to care calling police.

The worst value for money in my life. Frightening location. Not enough stuff. No feeling of security. They have to keep entrance doors locked. Last 2 stars are misplaced (not deserved).

We had the jacuzzi room on the top floor which was amazing. It had a real Moulin Rouge feel to it and full on traditional French ambience that you only could wish for. An experience as well as a lovely hotel stay. Just one problem. The air conditioning wasn't working. On enquiring, it was out of action for the whole hotel. No mention of this by staff as we checked in or any remedial action during or on check out. Imagine that. >£200 a night room with no air con or compensation. So had to sleep with the windows open and it was very noisy outside being next to a night club. Fortunetly that part went un noticed by my partner and she loved it.

Location near place Pigale is not a good for people who want to rest calm. There are a lot of sex-shops and noisy strip-bars near the hotel. Rooms in the hotel decorate in old 'boudoir' stile, whith red walls and many carpets, which look strange for modern people.
