The views of the Riviera from this location cannot be beat. Staff were exceptional and the food was excellent. Can't wait to return.
Too far to walk to Monte Carlo so have to rely on the shuttle bus service. However the shuttle service itself was quite good but just a little inconvenient compared to hotels in the city centre. It is a trade off for the glorious views I guess.
The views are fantastic
The lift down to the restaurant for breakfast and also down to the swimming pool had broken down, so it was either walking down c.100 very steep steps or getting a courtesy car for a 2 minute journey. the lift was broken for the entire four days of my visit. The other negative aspect was the inconvenience of getting in and out of Monaco - the courtesy coach was over-booked and ran only once an hour.
Super View, breakfast, free parking, warm pool, free transfer to Monaco each hour
Lovely room Lovely swimming area Stunning views Fantastic staff Courtesy minibus to Monte Carlo absolutely brilliant
Lift to pool area not working - no indication of when it was expected to be working. First day lift to pool area - then had to negotiate many many steps to and from pool and lovely restaurant area for breakfast.
Suite with our own pool with magnificent views...... Stunning
Amazing view, Please do take the room with Monaco view, they have 2 views
Its a bit old, they should renovate it.. But the shuttle and view completely make over for it.
The location Hotel atmosphere
Great views from the pool and bedrooms.
Upgraded to a "nicer" room after booking last minute & arriving at midnight. However the mattress was the worst I have ever experienced in a hotel ! Asked reception to change mattress but no solution found. We put the mattress on the floor, not much better but at least we could sleep. Avoid room 103.
Restaurant staff were friendly and professional. Nice pool with good quality loungers and parasols.
Standard of the room (damaged and scuffed walls). The size was too small leaving a sense of oppressiveness. So much so we left a day earlier than intended and as we booked through Booking.com still had to pay the room rate. Overall it didn't merit the room prices quoted.
The breathtaking view. The shuttle taking us to town but has to be more often.
The reception stuff is not too friendly. The quality of the food at the pool is horrible. The pool service is poor. Benches in plastic. The wifi is out of order most of the times. Furniture is very old fashioned
We loved being away from the heart of busy, hectic Monaco. Returning to the hotel after a day of sightseeing was a haven of peace. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge overlooking Monaco bay at dusk and watching the lights slowly transform the place into a fairyland. The balcony of our room offered views of the coastal towns and maritime activity. It was a wonderful way to start and end our day. The courtesy bus service to and from town was convenient and the staff were extremely helpful in every way. We will definetely stay there again.
The hotel is ageing and in need of some freshening up in certain areas. Perhaps that added to the quaintness of the place.
The hotel is about a 10 minute drive from monte carlo. There is a great view from the rooms and the restaurant. Good VFM in my opinion. We enjoyed the stay.
Everything is very old in the hotel. Needs to be renovated. However, everything is clean and works properly. The rooms are carpet wall to wall and when everything is so old, it smells that way as well. Pool is less attractive than the pictures
Location Room Towels!!! Swimming Pool Food (especially the desserts) A waiter who looked like Robin Williams was very friendly!
A lot of the staff was not inviting / friendly. They were not impolite but did not give you the impression that we were very welcome. It was not a "home away from home" feeling. Also the shuttle bus drivers did not say a word when picking us up or driving to Monaco. One night there was a gala dinner. According to the staff, we were not proper dressed so we could not attent (me wearing a dress with high heels).... When we saw other guests wearing slippers etc. we were confused.
Incredible view of the Italian and French riviera, including monaco. Pool area
Poor wifi TV didn't work Food was average and over priced...although we did not eat in the main restaurant Sun loungers crammed together.
the hotel was amazing but the views in particular were spectacular.
The breakfast buffet was poor for the price, and more like a four than a five star hotel breakfast
Fantastic view overlooking Monaco.
Room was looking a little tired. Handle fell off the bathroom door & the sink was blocked up.
Shuttle bus Location / view
Thin walls Crap balcony seating
Clean, possition, staff.
The place really, really needs a facelift and refurbishment. Has anything been done to the hotel over the last 40 years
Fabulous views from our dual aspect room. Friendly, helpfully staff.
Needs a bit of refurbishment and redecoration but that seemed to be underway already.
The location was spectacular & the hotel well appointed
The phones in the room didn't work so we had to use our cell to phone reception, we were told it was sunday so we'd have to iron our own shirts. We ate a meal for €200 that wasn't that great. The next day there was no water in any of our part of the hotel we called reception 4 times to try to find a solution i.e. a key to a room in the part of the hotel with water. No one came, after an hour I went to reception I was told to wait after 10mins I tried to beg for a key so we could shower, I was told I was bruto by a rude receptionist. We left an hour late,I complained to the manager.....but rather than offer us anything they tried to overcharge us by €50. Finally he knocked off the breakfast, which was also poor......very disappointed.
Nothing worked in any of the rooms
Free parking Really nice toiletries
The hotels fotograph showing the beach is misleading. The hotel's beach is about 5 kms from the property in a village named Menton. They should clearly mention it in their properties features. The rooms are not upto the standard of a 5* hotel... During our stay the hotel intercom was disfunctional and we had to go to the reception or bar if we wanted to order something from room service. The hotel is clearly not upto the standards n service of a 5* property. The furnishings are in dire need of renovation.
Hotel rooms are very run down - need a major overhaul.
Cleanliness of the bathroom & gardens need to be better maintained.
Swimmingpool area was nice. Good breakfast.
Shuttle arrangement was not a good experience, the shuttle did not pick us up as agreed in front of Monaco casino the evening when it rained and was thunder. Even through we had an agreement beforehand at the reception that they should. And the telephoneline to the hotell was out of order.
