Hôtel West End Promenade des Anglais31, Promenade Des Anglais, 06000 Nice (Show map) Good, Score from 588 reviews“Location great and the staff were both friendly and helpful.”
Christopher,
Leeds
The stylish beach front hotel is ideally located on the Promenade des Anglais, one mile from the Vieux-Nice distric. It offers air conditioned accommodations with satellite TV, some overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Guests can choose from soundproofed rooms and suites, all equipped with a minibar and a spacious bathroom with bathtub. Some have a balcony. The West End’s restaurant, Le Siecle, serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine. During the summer, breakfast and lunch buffets are served in La Palmeraie, and both restaurants have sea views. The airport shuttle service stops at Gambetta/Promenade station, situated in front of the Hotel West End Promenade des Anglais. Access to the private beach across from the hotel is available for an additional fee. Hotel Rooms: 120

Good location for city and beach Easy reach of airport and on bus route Easy walk to all city facilities Super views of sea and promenade from room with balcony No real effort made by staff to encourage use of hotel facilities Road frontage rooms are noisy when balcony doors are open Unless we missed it , better details for bus stop arriving from airport, driver was very little help.

The facade of the hotel is great and especially its closest left hand neighbors, villa massena and hotel le negresco are very impressive. Promendade des Anglaise sounds great as a prestigious localization of the hotel is, however, a very noisy and irritating highway during the almost whole night, and everyone who decides to stay in this hotel in a room “with a view on the see” should be aware of it. We stayed five nights and regretted our choice of a hotel immediately, during the first sleepless night. The price/quality relationship is poor (Deluxe Room sounds like a joke); the standard of the hotel is too low for four stars.

The central location on the promenade is convenient for dining, shopping and sightseeing. This is the fourth occasion on which I have stayed at the West End and it will be the last. I booked a Junior Suite at Euros 333 per night, room only, and it was exceedingly poor value for money. The information on Junior Suites states that most have a Sea View and Balcony but my accommodation, Room 319, had neither. In addition, access to the sleeping area was by way of a steep spiral staircase which for someone of my vintage, Senior Citizen, is clearly far from ideal. In general, although the decor was in reasonable condition, the room was dull and depressing and a complete disappointment. Therefore, my advice to potential guests is to avoid Room 319

The location right on the Promenade des Anglais and within a short walk of the shopping area and lots of restaurants is excellent We had a prestige room which was tiny, I dread to think how small the classic rooms are. The room was not very well cleaned and the bathroom was very stuffy. The breakfast was appalling and the staff at breakfast totally ignored us. This hotel is not worthy of 2 let alone 4 stars. We stayed in the nearby Royal Hotel on a previous visit, it was much cheaper, much bigger rooms and more friendly staff. We would not stay in this hotel again.

Location good and aircon worked well. Restaurant good but we were served by a hugely unfriendly man who frowned at my complaint of having a chipped red wine glass and served me with another chipped one. Then insisting on replacing it with a small white wine glass and then yet another (,while we ordered very expensive red wine). Hotel needs upgrade and not four star quality. Matress poor and got extremely small room. Only after complaint were we offered a bigger room.

Beautiful facility in a superb location. If it had a decent staff it could be a great hotel. The Internet didn't work and the staff was polite but never followed through with what they were asked to do. They didn't even answer the phone at the reception desk. You had to go downstairs to speak to them.

The room we booked was a superior room and whilst it was clean and tidy the sliding wardrobe doors would not shut and one of the window shutters was stuck half way which meant we could not go out on the small balcony. For a Hotel of this price I would expect these sort of things to be sorted out before we checked in

The location was the most important consideration and this hotel was within walking distance of the shops and restaurants and just across the road from the beach. The room was disappointing as it was extremely small, particularly the bathroom, which had no room to move in! The room also lacked mirrors.

Balcony was under construction. Shutters on 2 out of 3 windows half closed obscuring view specifically paid for. Dust from building works covered all flat surfaces. Two lights could only be turned off by using master switch at door, disabling bedside and bathroom lights. Having paid extra for the view and a suite we would have been better served having neither and saving our money

The location, although the traffic noise is quite bad. The room allocated to us was nice but the window shutter would not open so it was like being in a prison. After two hours and having asked three members of staff for assistance we were given a new room which was very acceptable.

Best location in Nice, right on the Promenade des Anglais; one can use the private beach right across the street; possibly the cleanest hotel room ever; the floors were spotlessly clean (although covered in very light colour tiles), the linen was very crisp and clean; very clean and high quality fittings in the bathroom and very well designed room overall.... The only drawback is the size of the room being very small; hardly any space to put your bags and even maneuver inside the room; but the overall quality of the rooms and the location of the hotel help ignore this...

Excellent location close to the main areas of Nice with the bus stop for the airport outside the hotel. The hotel is positioned opposite the beach and close to bars and restaurants of the new and old towns of Nice. Le Negresco hotel is next door and well worth having a look at. Monaco, Antibes and Monte Carlo are a close train ride away and great place to see how the rich and famous live with super yachts and Ferraris in great numbers. Although described as a 4* hotel some of the facilities need to be upgraded to meet this classification. We stayed in a superior sea view room and the view was great overlooking the blue Mediterranean? However the room was small and expensive for what we paid. However Nice is expensive so perhaps we shouldn't have been surprised.

The West End welcomed us with wonderful hospitality. They gave us a room upgrade with a beautiful view of the Promenade des Anglais with its ocean panorama. We enjoyed the superb furnishings, delicious cuisine and friendly service. We were excited because the hotel was well located within walking distance to the old town and innovative restaurants. It is therefore our pleasure to give them an excellent rating. Kind regards, Rosie and Steve Noble.

I like the location which is near the airport, train/bus station, shopping areas & tourist attractions. The room I was in on the 6th floor, was not sound proof. I could hear a lot of sounds coming from the ceiling above the bathroom. It was very noisy & annoying especially when I wanted to sleep. There was no English Movie Channel.

The location was great - it had a really nice front facade and is quite charming.... Our room was quite spacious and the renovated rooms were really nice. It was quite old fashioned but our room was one of the renovated ones and was a good size- not too small....
