Hotel was clean and friendly and the food was good. Location handy for all amenities and just a short walk (less than a mile) from the ferry terminal. Nice bar. Ideal base for touring the rest of the island. Hotel situated just across the road from Brodick Golf Club, which is well worth playing.
Friendly Staff and Nice Food
I liked the natural friendliness of the folk at Ormidale and their interest in providing clean and comfortable surroundings for a good and restful night. The breakfast was excellent in every respect. This is a place with personality and beautiful gardens not bland corporate style. Beautiful well-tended gardens
Location and staff were great. Everything you expect and great value for money.
I was visiting the island by bicycle and there was no dedicated area or rack to chain up my bicycle.
Wide choice at breakfast Good range of whisky at the bar Convenient location for getting around the island
Good Food, Good entertainment stunning scenery round the island
Not a lot of night life on Arran but you expect that the Hotels music bingo and bar kept us well entertained though.
Good sized room. Clean, nice breakfast
Up a hill, up some stairs, more stairs to room, don't book here if you have any mobility issues. Creaking hinges and doors that had to be slammed to shut them!
Attention of staff - very helpful. Location - excellent to access Brodick & Arran as a whole.
There was nothing I didn't like during our stay. the place was great for us. I did notice that it's not a place for a wheelchair user.
I just love Arran, end of story!
The weather that particular day!
Very friendly staff and good atmosphere in hotel.
We had a great stay at Ormidale. The food from the hotel restaurant was great plus breakfast had lots of choice. The location is great, close to everything we needed. Rooms are lovely, light and they have everything you need. Staff are really friendly and willing to help with anything you might need. They also have great knowledge of the Island to recommend places to visit. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend it for anyone from walkers, families or couples.
Wifi signal was low at times.
Staff very helpful & friendly. Meals were all very good, particularly breakfast. Rooms clean & tidy.
Bed a bit small for adult, though still slept well.
The bar, the music quiz and the friendly staff
Breakfast was very good staff were all lovely . Rooms were value for money ,the folk night was good everyone in the bar had a good time.
Didn't like the bar meals the steak pie was file the pastry was ok tho spent £90 on food and no one ate it , the stones at the front door were a nightmare with heels on and pushing a pushchair over them was task
Lovely friendly people. Everything you could want or need. Beautiful setting in stunning gardens.
The hotel was very good value for money and very friendly. On the night I stayed it was quiz night and the place was very busy, it's also the best pub in Brodick !!
I arrived completely drenched after a long cycle ride. Wonderful welcome, great room and first rate bar food. The open fire was a very welcome bonus. Great hospitality and company in the hotel. Very caring staff .
Staff hospitality was excellent
Bedroom and hotel looking a little tired.
The Ormidale is, and continues to be, an institution on the island. If you are looking for homely accommodation, great bar food in a very authentic atmosphere topped off by a fine breakfast (as was I) then this is the place for you. If you are expecting a "Holiday Inn" type of experience with no rough edges, then the Ormidale probably isn't the place for you. I continue to go back to the Ormidale year after year and will continue to do so for all the reasons above!
Noise from the bar and needed new mattresses.
Location of the hotel, the hotel' garden and a view
On the brochure page of the hotel doesn't present information about parties which last until 1.00 am, it was a bad surprise because we were a really tired, but could not sleep because of noise.
Good for the cash... Handy with some nightlife. Nothing fancy but good value!
Laura and her husband were very sweet, greeted us in the most amazing manner, we were arriving late, but Laura waited for us anyways and was on the phone constantly supporting us because the ferry was 9 hours late. It felt like home, nice and cozy, with fantastic bar facilities, lovely breakfast, truly recommend the Ormidale hotel!!!
