Lovely place to stay. Everything that we needed. They were happy to help even stopped eating dinner to get me some ice for my twisted ankle.
The full English breakfast was the best I'd had in a long time, had a nice relaxing time the host were very hospitable ,would go again.
Very welcoming establishment and helpful with everything, great weekend, definitely recommend and will visit again.G
the couple are very nice, as i arrived at 8pm, they were not at home but they asked someone else to open the door for me
a little cold at night as i lived in the top floor
We liked the fact that Mary & Philip were economy and re-cycle conscious ie. Re-useable containers. The B & B was in a great location, the afternoon tea on arrival was a very nice touch which made us feel welcome and a great choice of tea's coffees in our room.
Parking was limited. The room was a little dusty and the shower tray had hairs in it.
Myself and a friend spent four nights at 1 Park Road, and we both agreed that it was a fantastic experience to go with our activities out in the Lake District itself. Breakfast was fantastic, the room was well fitted out and served our needs, and the hospitality and personal help and advice from Phil and Mary was brilliant, wonderful hosts and very accommodating. The location and setting of the hotel was very convenient with plenty of good restaurants nearby, as well as shops for day provisions. I would definitely recommend 1 Park road to others and given the chance, I'll be visiting again myself. John
Breakfast was great. As was the room and Mary and Phillip.
I especially liked the lovely breakfast, which was completely adjusted to our dietary requests.
Not very easy to find from the trainstation (coming by foot in the dark)
The attitude of owner, the man was very disappointed me. I think he only likes white guests, maybe slightly racist, really hate it. The room was dusty as well
Best B&b stay I've ever had. Lovely hosts, great bike chats, comfy bed. Staywe extra I had such an enjoyable time!
We enjoyed a two night stay here, very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent, would stay here again
The location was good
The timings of breakfast was quite restrictive, only served from 8.30-9.15 which is a bit early if you're on holiday! All the rules make you feel more like an intruder than a guest. The bed was past its use by date so we had bad sleep while there. There is only 1 park and access to wifi is limited and the fridge is on the landing not in the room. The room was not that clean, bad hygiene with a wooden seat and it really needs a freshen up.
Rooms were a good sized, decent tv, beds extremely comfortable and Mary was very welcoming. Wouldn't have stayed anywhere else if we went back. Daniel & Megan
The hosts. The location. The breakfast. Cleanliness. Room.
Parking - which is always really important. Philip & Mary - the owners were very helpful and friendly. Location - excellent location between Windermere & Bowness
Extremely cosy and welcoming place. - The host were very welcoming, kind and willing to help with information on the area (without being meddling). - The room was well proportionate with nice furniture and access to small fridge on the hall (were you always had fresh milk). - Access to the living room. In the location you can find a variety of guides and information about the aria. Also you can buy framed pictures and paintings. - Walk distance to the lakeside and also centre. - Definitely the best breakfast I have had in such location. I find it a perfect location to rest and feel like at home.
Very friendly friendly couple and a very comfortable stay
it was central to where i wanted to be nice village and views around the lake and they accommodated pets.
excellent service, breakfast and location, a big thank you to the owners who made us feel very welcome
Mary & Philip were extremely friendly & welcoming. A thoughtful & accommodating couple were more than happy to suggest recommendations regarding places to visit etc. Breakfast choice was plentiful & very good quality. The homemade marmalade was yummy!
The bed was not particularly comfortable & the room & en-suite were very dusty. The bedding, towels etc. were clean and fresh though.
Friendly and helpful hosts, great location. Nice generous breakfast.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The building is lovely and I really love all the woodwork. The B&B is comfortable and i would stay there again.
Not enough private parking, had to park on the road under a tree, which made my car very sticky.
Like the access to fresh milk.
Location near to many things but not on main street
Could have been cleaner
