On our arrival we were made to feel so welcome by Janine who showed us to our room (number 12) which was at the top of the house- a double room with newly refurbished ensuite- bath and shower over the bath. We then had a tray of tea and biscuits in the lounge downstairs where we looked at the information on local restaurants and things to do etc. We were fortunaote to have lovely weather so it was a bonus to be able to open the large window in our room to give a little extra air. The room had tea, coffee, chocolate, bottle of water and biscuits. Number Seventeen is in a lovely location- the road is very grand- lots of other B&Bs- a stone's throw from the beach and The Winter Garden etc. We would definately recommend number 17.

The staff were very friendly, there is an informal air about the B&B but the standard of the rooms, the breakfast and the whole house was very high. It's a lovely old house in a very convenient, central location for Eastbourne. I felt welcome and 'looked after' but without any intrusion or over-engineered standard greetings etc. Very good, I would recommend to others.

This is a superb hotel situated in an excellent location. Unfortunately I only stayed one night as I was getting married the following morning and my bride was staying at The Grand nearby. Exceptionally friendly welcome and service from Janine and her husband, and without exception the 'condemned man's' breakfast was one of the best I have had for a long time, and yes Janine, that does include the Grand'S. The room was pleasantly proportioned, smart and very clean. I like Eastbourne a lot, and will be returning again to No.17 Wilmington Square, this time with my new wife. Very well done Janine et al, excellent place you have there. There was nothing to dislike, and this hotel represents outstanding value for money taking everything into consideration. Considering it is the nearest b&b to The Grand Hotel, this is a serious alternative for those looking for a base to explore the very best that Eastbourne and surrounding areas has to offer.

We were looking for a hotel near the bandstand . This was in the right place , I could not fault anything about it . . It was spotlessly clean . really comfy beds. Beautiful room over looking the sea . a wonderful breakfast ,cooked to perfection .Very tastfully decorated and the lady of the hotel put some wonderful touches to the whole hotel . I will definitely , definitely go there again and recomend it to all my friends . Thank you for a memorable stay . P . Lancaster-Williams

Great location, the hotel is small, and you feel like in family. Excellent breakfast, very good, kind and friendly owners. No lift, not the best shower.

Everything about this Guest House was really nice and the standard throughout was high. Beds were comfortable, and the breakfasts were excellent. It was very close to the seafront (about 40 feet away in fact). Also Tony and Janine (the owners) could not have been more helpful in every way. Cannot recall anything we did not like.

We were welcomed on arrival, but were then left to enjoy the weekend, albeit being fully aware that if we needed anything we only had to ask. Breakfast was wonderful, in a bright and clean dining room. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely place to stay, in a very clean seaside town. Looking forward to our next visit already.

This is a lovely B&B with 5 star facilities. The owners were very friendly and helpful with local information. Wonderful location for people going to the theatres which are only a stones throw away and also virtually on the sea front. Its only a short walk into the shopping centre of the town an added bonus. All in all a great place to stay

As a solo traveller on business needing to work the next day, the flexibility of the owners to organise breakfast for 7:00am was very much appreciated. Nothing to dislike. If you like to b&b this is probably as good as it gets.

Janine and Tony run 17 Wilmington Square and we had a 3 night bed and breakfast stay It is in an ideal situation on a quiet square 3 minute walk from the beach, the theatres and a selection of good restaurants. 10 minute walk to the centre of town. On arrival there was parking outside the hotel and we were met on the steps by Janine who welcomed us with the option to relax with some tea and coffee in the lounge or go straight to our room. Our choice was to book one the cheaper rooms so we were at the back of the hotel with no sea view but the room had all the standard things and was of excellent condition and cleanliness ( no peeling / scuffed paper no dust on surfaces / mould in en suite ). Janine showed us the quality of other rooms and also .also checked the bookings to see if she could upgrade us. Nothing was too much trouble and she was a mine of information what to do where to do it. Breakfast - Excellent - freshly cooked. Parking - is a pound a day ( local council providing the permits to the hotels) Although Janine said parking directly in front of the hotel could sometimes be an issue there are numerous alternatives (we always got a space in front ) The free wifi had a strong signal in the room. Bottom line we will not hesitate to stay there again.
