On our arrival which was around 3 hours before Booking-in-times, I telephoned the Tadross Hotel to ask if we could leave our vehicle on their car park to which we were told that we could and that if we wanted to we could have the keys to the room if we wanted. We were very grateful of this as we had traveled for nearly 3 hours and wanted to rest for a few minutes properly. The manager of the hotel was very polite and so were the rest of the staff and answered all our questions. Our room was very clean with en-suite bathroom. Breakfast was very basic... Just cereal and toast tea, coffee and juice but that did not bother us as we do not usually eat until around 11am on a Sunday. All in all I think the Tadross was value for money and I would stay there again.

Rooms are basic and very clean, staff leave you to yourself, easy access for coming and going. Very good location for staying in barry, very close to shopping stores. The only draw back is there is not a service for breakfast in mornings, just tea and a few basic things layed out in tea room, but over all I was satisfied, and would have no problem staying there again.

We wasn't expecting much for the price we paid but the staff were so friendly and nothing we asked for was too much for them. The drinks in the bar area were so cheap. We would have preferred curtains in our family room outside, however, this wasn't a problem.

Friendly, helpful staff........ .its a continental breakfast but apparently, according to other customers that we was talking to, you can ask for english at a price, but unfortunately we didn't find that out until the day we left!

Nice staff, clean but basic rooms, we shared a family room for 3 friends and you get what you pay for - basic but cheap. Really nice friendly people, good location and nice pub downstairs. Tv was broken in our room, as was one of the beds, but we complained and they moved us to another, nicer room with no hassle.

The beds had white bed linen and to wake up in the morning and find our car was still safe in the car park. The picture on the article makes the place look nice but in reality it is a run down pub in a very run down area and is in desperate need of refurbishment to give it the star rating advertised. Very noisy area!

the welcome i recieved was the lovely, rang to see if we could check in any earlier and told is wasnt a problem, room was lush (g4), big, bright, biggest tv ive ever had in a hotel room- great for watching the xfactor! i was a little worried about the noise from the pub as i have a 2 year old but once the door was locked i never would of guessed i was at the back of the pub. the only thing the room didnt have was a fridge, even if it was a mini or portable one that would of helped, great location- 5 mins to the beach (in car) half an hour to cardiff.

It was clean and comfortable. Adequate for what we wanted - a place to sleep on the way to the ferry. The breakfast was cereal and/or toast, suitable for what we wanted, but a bit cranky.

Warm welcome and friendly atmosphere. Located not far from Cardiff and the Millenium Stadium which is why we were there ( £17 each way taxi fare). Rooms were small but nice and adequate for a short stay. The was also nice, clean, lovely white bed linen with towels and little bars of soap arranged on the bed. Tv and coffee/tea making facilities in the room. Breakfast consisted of (help yourself) cereal, juice, toast and jam, which the hotel staff kept topped up throughout breakfast time- 07:00 -10:00am. Perfectly good value place to stay for a short visit. The public areas in the hotel/pub were a bit scruffy. The hotel is located in a quite run down looking area of Barry that I don't think I would walk around I'n after dark, not that there was anything to see anyway! Although it is advertised, wifi is not available throughout the hotel. Breakfast could be a little more organised. Everything was laid out on on a small welsh dresser with only a standard household toaster.

There was nothing in particular that we liked about the hotel the only benefit to us was the location as we have family nearby. We found that it was more of bar with rooms, the description on the site did not correspond with the premises. The room we were given in the main part of the hotel had a terrible smell coming from the bathroom, due to a sewage problem and it was very noisy. We were given an alternative room for the second night but, that was very noisy as people were 'partying' in the bar until after 3am. When we went for breakfast: the first morning we had to ask for bowls for cereal, which eventually the receptionist found. The second morning there was no milk and we had to go and buy our own as we could not find any staff. There was no bell at reception to contact them.

The hotel has been vastly improved since new ownership, the room although basic was more than adequate for our needs, the staff were friendly. Maybe the breakfast selection could be improved, other than that I have no faults and will be staying again

The staff were fantastic, location was perfect for us (went as Gavin and Stacey tourists and the hotel was actually used twice in filming!). We had a car and could park right outside our room in their courtyard carpark. The price was fantastic so I was expecting a run down room but our room was a new extention. It was a triple room so we had two single beds, a double bed, big bathroom, tv with lots of channels, and lots of space for our clothes. We will definitely be going back, had an amazing weekend! We were also given an early checkin at no extra cost.
