94Dr was incredible. We were made to feel extremely welcome, and where looked after from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. The food was amazing, you have never eaten anything like it, I couldn't wait for breakfast! All in all staying at 94dr made my trip.

What an amazing place! Paul and John made a victorian mansion into a welcoming design bed and breakfast. The place is great but the hosts make the real difference : very friendly and with an eye for every detail. Paul is an excellent chef, preparing fabulous breakfasts aka Pauls specials. And there is of course the lovely labradoodle Mollie ! We stayed here in the beginning and at the end of our holiday in Scotland and it felt like coming home when we arrived the second time. The location is excellent, a very short walk to Arthur's seat and with a bus stop next to the door it only takes minutes to the city center. Scotland is very close to our home (we live in Belgium) so we definitely go back to 94dr soon!

The owners were very accommodating, helpful and went the extra mile. The food was gourmet and the chef cooked anything you wanted, with flair and style set in a conservatory overlooking the garden. It was always a joy to be greeted by them in the morning! The room was Decorated beautifully and the bathroom had a walkin shower. On top of that they were like family - even the dog! We would certainly stay there again! John & Betty - Boise, ID

We had a wonderful short break here! Paul and John - and Mollie the dog - were very welcoming hosts and provided excellent information on where to go and how to get there. The breakfasts were magnificent! Great location - just a short bus trip to the city centre and the bus stop was right outside the door. Modern and comfortable rooms. We appreciated the 'little extra' cake that appeared in our room - especially after a hard day's sightseeing!

From the time we walked through the door on the Friday evening we were made to feel most welcome. The room was bright and cheery and Paul had put the heating on for us. Breakfast on both mornings was really enjoyable and what choices to make. I've already recommended 94dr to friends at work. We are planning to go back ourselves - soon. The bus stops right outside the door - although we did walk back on one occasion which took us about 15 minutes.

Our recent stay at 94dr was absolutely fabulous! We arrive a bit early and were greeted with warm hospitality. Our room was beautiful and the breakfast each morning was so delicious and more that we could have expected! It was definitely a highlight of our trip to come back to our awesome room!

Paul and John are the perfect hosts. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the attention to detail in the room is outstanding. They took the trouble to recommend a restaurant in the city, book us a table and a taxi. Paul is passionate about cooking and this is apparent in his breakfasts. Of course you can choose from the usual breakfast menu, but select from Paul's special menu and you will not be disappointed. The best ever! Hotel is very well placed on a bus route 20 mins straight into the city centre, park the car and jump on one of the frequent, clean, efficient buses. Would we stay there again? Most certainly! Being very picky, if you are unused to a small amount of traffic noise at peak times ask for a back room. Having said that the views from our front bay window was fantastic.

94Dr is a dream! John and Paul very helpful, funny and extremely pleasant. Nothing is too much for either of them, map directions, places to eat, advice on transport. The decor is modern, clean and not fussy. The breakfast is to die for! Home made and lasts until the evening. I will stay here every time I visit Edinburgh. Oh, and Mollie is gorgeous!!

Charming hosts, thoughtful breakfast menu (not the usual), super clean, quiet. Check-out & breakfast cut-off could be moved 30 minutes later - to 11am and 10am respectively - but a very minor quibble.

The welcome from Paul was great and he took he the time to tell us how to get into the city etc - free map provided too! He recommended a bistro for dinner and even booked it for us - we had a wonderful meal in characterful surroundings. Our room had magnificent windows and was tastefully decorated and so it was a great space to relax in. Spotlessly clean and lovely toiletries too. Breakfast was served in a beautiful conservatory overlooking a charming courtyard garden. Paul and John are not only excellent hosts but they serve a delicious breakfast too. We felt at home - an excellent place to stay. We plan to return!

Warm welcome, fantastic hospitality, wonderful breakfast / food, great attention to detail! Rooms very comfortable, clean, comtemporary interior design. Tea making in room possible and a new snack was left in the room every day - very tasty cakes... One of the best places we've ever stayed at, will definetely go back. Highly recommendable.

Hosts very helpful especially recommending places to walk; calling taxi; suggesting places to go to Breakfast was delicious Room was clean and bed comfortable We didn't check there was no bathtub: it would have been okay but the shower was strong enough. In the big cubicle it meant a rather cold ish experience. There is a safety issue about the step coming down from the shower which happens to be located between the door and the sink: we stubbed our toes badly on it twice each. Ouch. Room was noisy. It is reasonable if one is used to traffic noises at night: it just happens that I have never slept with traffic noise in my life and find it unpleasant.

Paul and John were great hosts, breakfast was devine every morning!!! The location is good, the city centre is about 20 min walk away, a frequent bus service directly in front of the guesthouse is available also, taxi doesn't cost more than gbp 5. The house itself is lovely, very modern. We loved it and will stay again. Our room - though very nice - was very small, our sheets didn't seem clean and looked as if someone else had slept in them before.
