Excellent location. Lovely friendly helpful staff.
Clean comfortable bed but rest of room and bathroom not the cleanest.
- breakfast was ok - wifi was great - good location
- babybed (rather a crib) does not accommodate 2 year old, not too child friendly - heating does not work between 12 and 4 (am and pm) - front desk staff was quite unfriendly - very noisy at front side - used napkins under the bed
The breakfast and rooms.
Excellent cosy and spacious bedroom. Part of the staff were really excellent!
Hours of breakfast a bit limited if you wan't to stay in bed longer.
The guest house is located in the perfect location. It is close to the train station and not so far from the city centre. The room is a little bit on the small side, but it is clean and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful. The full English breakfast is amazing.
The WiFi network can be better in terms of stability and speed. The temperature of the water from the shower is quite difficult to adjust. The breakfast can start earlier, say 7:15 or 7:30.
Breakfasts and location.
The owner could have smiled a bit!
I love the location and the family atmosphere of this guest house. I always feel like I'm at a friend's home. The breakfast is very good, fresh and plentiful. The room was adequate and pleasantly furnished.
Very little actually. There is no lift, so you have to carry heavy cases up the narrow stairway. But that is only to be expected for the price and type of accommodation. Our room was very warm when we arrived and we had to turn down the heating.
Very friendly staff, nice room, quiet-ish road, easy walk from station with a wheeled case, easy walk into centre of town (a mile I'd guess), hotel is in nice road of primarily private houses, the bed was excellent, room maybe a bit small but nothing one couldn't handle - spent a day working in room and didn't feel claustrophobic.
The room was so nice and very confortable
Its a bit far from the center of the village but you can go by a walk
Good staff. Nice room. Good location.
Parking is tiny. Breakfast starts too late for most business people.
Cleanliness and breakfast.
En suite a bit small, car parking would have been a problem if all guests had cars.
Location. Close for those coming by train. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Being on the top floor, which meant lugging heavy suitcases up three flights of steep and narrow stairs. The doona was way too heavy for the temperature.
Ok location. Good breakfast and was clean.
Felt very overpriced at £85 a night, the room was very small and the bathroom even smaller.
They allowed us to keep the car in their car parking for free the following day and they waited for us 20 minutes after check in time
The room was very hot and the window had a lock that did not allow to open it fully
It was clean and not for from the city centre
The price for one person is expensive
The position, the breakfast. Rooms are simple but very tidy and clean
The bed was uncomfortable
Owner was reasonable in terms of allowing us to make changes to the reservation. The staff also were willing to let us change rooms. Probably a good place for local weekenders with cars and mobile phones who simply desire bed and breakfast. Some of the rooms are larger than others. The cleaning staff seem friendly.
We arrived in mid-afternoon only to find that the door to the guesthouse was locked and no one was staffing the reception. A local number was pasted to the main door, but being from outside the UK, we did not have local phones from which to call it. We finally rented 20 minutes of internet from the hostel across the street and Skyped the number on the door, only to have the person on the other end hang up on the call (because of the bad connection). Eventually, after about an hour of waiting---after a transatlantic flight, a three hour bus ride from Heathrow, and a 20 minute walk from Parker's Piece---we were let into the building. The woman who greeted us had just gotten out of the shower and told us in an almost accusatory tone that 'there was no one at the reception in the afternoon.' Really? How on earth can you run a guesthouse and not allow entrance to the premises for guests when they arrive, regardless of what time that is? I had even taken the extra step of emailing the guesthouse the previous day (via Booking) to let them know what time we would be arriving so as to ensure someone would be there to let us in. This is not a responsibility the guest should bear, except in unusual circumstances. More problematically, my bag was lost and was scheduled to be delivered the following day in the afternoon, around the time when the reception would not be staffed and when I was scheduled to be in a meeting. We talked with the owner about this problem but little recourse was offered. And in general that was the feel I had at A & B---little serious interest in the guests' experiences. Not being able to gain entry to the building, not being able to easily call the telephone number, and being admonished by the woman who eventually let us in could have been forgiven if the room itself had been slightly more than adequate, but it was not. It was barely big enough for two people.
Very good place to stay in Cambridge, close to everything but in a quiet neighbourhood.
At the price they charge, they could defenitively extend their breakfast and check-out times. Not everyone of us is in the military.
Welcomed by very friendly staff member upon arrival (after parking in free parkkng space. Shown to very comfortable and spotlessly clean ensuite room with amazing bed and then offered a map and directions for our visit. Very quiet location, dark curtains keeping light out, TV and drink making facilities in room. Inclusive breakfast was excellent with continental and English breakfast options. Overall very pleased and will be staying again.
Nothing, everything was great.
THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY BED WAS COMFATABLE QUIET LOCATION GREAT BREAKFAST NEAR TO MAIN TOWN
THEY DIDNOT HAVE ANY HEATING ON IN THE EVENING OR MORNING
Television too small and when other guests arrived home late they were load and woke us up.
Comfortable bed Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy Possibility of late check-in Just a 10-minute walk to the city centre Very little night-time noise
Breakfast-time was fairly early for weekend-standards. An hour later would have been preferable.
Very close to the Train Station. Excellent breakfast. Staff was very kind.
Far from the city centre.
nice and quite place, close to the railway station and city centre. Room was spacious.
Close to station, delicious breakfast, friendly staff
